What will be Apple's response to Kindle's WhisperCast?

I am the IT Director at a school in Chicago and we recently went to iPads in the classroom. Since they are the property of the individual, we have a hard time telling the students what can and can not be on the device. However, it seems like Kindle's WhisperCast is exactly the type of thing we would love to use. Does anyone know of anything that Apple might be developing that would be a similar product but for iPads?

The controls you refer to aren't any more implementable on devices you aren't allowed control of, unless I'm completely misreading Amazon's information, than they would be on iPads you don't own.
For privately-owned iPads, I'm afraid that outside of controlling WiFi access when they're in school, your solutions are going to be administrative, not technical.

I have an (iPad 2) and an iMac (2012). I have one apple ID used for both the itunes and appstore on the iPad, and on the iMac a different apple ID used for the appstore and itunes. What will be the consequences of changing my email ID on the ipad to the one used on the imac? I don't want to delete the iPad apple ID, just never use it again. I just want to work with 1 apple ID over the 2 devices.
I have purchased apps on the iPad and other documents/movies/books etc and if I sync to the iMac will all that be deleted? How can I just use the one apple ID for all? Does it mean that every time I connect my iPad to the iMac that I have to login to itunes using the iPad apple ID? Maybe it is that simple I don't know.
What will be the consequences of doing this and is it possible?

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

What will Apple do if my iPod Touch 4g crashed while updating to iOS 6?

Yesterday while trying to update my iPod touch 4g to iOS 6, it just suddenly shut down mid-way (on a charger). When I tried turning it back on, it would pull up the battery screen indicating that the battery is low, so I would plug it in the charger again. Although after its charged a bit, it would pull up the Apple logo and then go to a (teal) blue screen and I cannot do anything else. When plugged into a computer, my laptop can't even recognize my iPod touch. I've tried draining the battery out all of the way, then charging it up again and it won't work. My iPod touch isn't jailbroken either, and there was 2.4GB free space like indicated during the update. I'm wondering what will Apple do if I would bring it to the store?
I'm really upset because I just barely bought this about two months ago when I broke the screen on my other iPod touch

Besides, go to any App Store and ask them to run ADR test for your device and will see the battery life. If it seems fail or consumed then you should replace the battery. If seems pass, then restore your device if you think battery drains too fast.

Any advice welcome.

To clear to old before passing it on, open the Settings app and tap on General (left hand menu). Scroll down and tap on settings, then tap on Erase All Content and Settings.
If you have been synching the iPad to iTunes on a computer, you should also have backed it up. If you havn't backed it, you will want to do so before clearing the settings and use the back up to set up your new iPad.

I have only one Apple Id, which is my email address "[email protected]". My Apple Id and primary email are the same. I now have a new email address, and want to change my Apple Id to my new email address. I've been to the Apple Id support page, and have found out how to change the Apple Id on the Apple Id support webpage. I've been reluctant to go through with the process, because I'm unsure as to what the consequences will be if I change my Apple Id. I have an iPhone and an iPad as well as two Macs and an Apple TV hooked up to my Apple Id. My iMac is the main computer used for storing all files and syncing my iOS devices. In addition my contacts and calendar is in the iCloud. I hope someone with the know-how or experience can help me answer the following questions:
1. iPhone and iPad: Once I change my Apple Id, have I understood it correctly when the next thing I do is that I go to General settings -> Store, and sign out from my "old" Apple Id, and then sign in with the new name for my Apple Id? Will my previous purchases of music, ibooks and apps be connected to the new name of my Apple Id, and will I still be able to get previously purchased apps updated? As for iCloud, what must I do on my iPhone and iPad to make sure that contacts and calendars keep in sync?
2. iCloud: Will changing the name of the Apple Id on the Apple Id support webpage be the only thing I need to do, or are there more steps to follow?
3. iMac and MacBook Pro: Am I right in assuming that all I need to do is sign out from the old named account and then sign in with the new name in AppStore, iTunes, FaceTime and Messages app? Is the Apple Id in use by any other apps or functions?
4. Apple TV: Once my iMac is up and running with the new name of the account, I sign out from the old named account, then sign in with the new name, will streaming music and photos etc. work just as before the name change?
5. I still haven't activated Mail in iCloud. As I understand, once you do that you will be prompted to register a @me.com or @icloud.com email address. Will this address now be possible to use instead of my new email address as the name for my Apple Id?

Have you forgotten your password? - if so, you have a problem if the email address has gone dead.
If you know your password, go to the iTunes Store, click on Account. log in and you can change the associated email address.
If you don't know your password, and have no email address, you are going to have problems because it's difficult to see how Apple are going to identify you as the authorised owner of the account. To transfer your current hard drive I like the applications Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper. They make a bootable copy of everything on your hard drive. http://www.bombich.com/index.html or http://www.shirt-pocket.com/SuperDuper/SuperDuperDescription.html
You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.
