What will compliment HANA in the future...

I'm in a little dilemma. My team was going for training and get on projects for HANA. But it seems that has been postponed for alteast a year. It was disappointing to hear this.
I'm a BI developer, working with basic ETL, Infocubes, DSO, etc. (only 1 year experience, was ABAP developer before)
I do have somewhat of a flexibility to learn something new (I'm still new to BI, so I have that option).
I want to learn something that will compliment HANA when I get involved in it in the future. I know HANA will be replacing many things in BI. There aren't that many options (BusinessObjects, BWA, BEX, stick with BI (ETL/DSO/InfoCubes/etc.).
What would be the best application/product to learn in BI now that will definitely help/compliment when learning HANA in the future? (which will also improve my skill set and value as a consultant also)

Just a general remark on this, as I believe many customers are thinking about the best ways to adopt HANA.
With BW 7.3 SPS 5 it's possible to run BW natively on a HANA system. This includes changed implementations for different key features of SAP BW (e.g. flat infocubes, in-memory DSO, exception aggregation and de-aggregation pushed to the HANA level etc.).
So it's possible to take the existing BW warehouse and reporting system and run it on HANA.
Step by step the adoption of the new HANA features can then be done.
And, often overlooked, HANA is not a data warehouse. It doesn't integrate data sources across the companies data world.
It's doesn't keep historical data stored in data marts in a cleansed and unified way.
SAP BW does all this - also when it runs on HANA.
So, in my view, it might be a clever strategy to focus on the design of the current data warehouse so that it's easy to move it to HANA.

I downloaded the skype 6 a few days ago. I liked the new layout and enjoyed that it went to the oldest new-message. However, like many people I discovered that the group chat picture doesn't work correctly. In a group where the picture is changed a few times a day and often times part of the discussion, this is very annoying. However there is no fix for this problem, just a vauge reply that windows will fix this in the next update. It feels as though windows is not taking this issue seriously and we may have to wait a month or more before it is fixed.
Why did this problem make it through? I did not see something that said "beta" when I downloaded this- I just uninstalled my old skype and installed the latest versionl.
What measures did windows take to test the new skype? Did you have people beta test it? If so did you give people a checklist of specific things to test out, along with letting them play around? Did you tell them to chat with people who had the old version and the new? How long did you have people beta test this program?
Were you aware of this glitch before it was released? Please answer this honestly. I am aware that programming is difficult, ect. ect. however you have left the glitchy program up as the new skype download, despite this problem.
What will you do going forward to make sure that problems like this don't happen.
If you were aware of this and don't plan to change your practices I would rather change to linux programs. I doubt it will make a big difference to a huge corperation like windows, so please tell me so that I know what to do going forward.

We are still working to release the fix for this issue. It's only affecting legacy peer-to-peer chats, e.g. ones that were created more than a year ago. If this functionality is super important you can re-create this chat as a modern server based cloud group chat by issuing the "/fork" command in the old group chat. This will create a separate new group chat with a different history starting anew, but it has the same members in it. You need to judge how important the group chat picture feature is for you.
...and if I may be so curious: Can you share a bit how you use the group avatar functionality that you are updating it multiple times a day? Are you discussing movie posters/adverts? Or is your group a design community?

If it's showing the red disabled screen due to too many incorrect passcode attempts then you may need to put the iPod into recovery mode in order to reset it via your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to restore/resync your content to it

I will answer your question point wise
1. Keeping license key is good idea it helps you during audit and you have proof that you are using a valid Microsoft License. Plus in scenario of disaster where whole box gets damanged you might need to install SQL Server again in that case during
reinstallation on setup page where you need to enter key you might need need it. If you are missing your paper then you are in trouble.
2. Only on product key page license key is required and it is not required anywhere else during installation. Unless you enter valid product key installation will not proceed further.
3 License makes you a valid owner of Microsoft product with restrictions on how much hardware resource you can use how much max connections you can make etc. Key lets you install it on Windows machine making sure that you are using valid Microsoft product.
This was just a general idea please speak to your licensing specialist for more details. This is technical forum and we generally ask user to speak to licensing expert for such queries.

Important:
When enabling iTunes Match on your iOS device, the music library on your iOS device will be deleted and then replaced with your music in iCloud.
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.

What's in store for the future? Messaging 7?

Since the majority of the topics discussed in this forum are "please help" threads, I'm hoping to mix it up a bit.
Since Netscape, iPlanet, SIMS, PMDF and the rest of the SJMS lineage have produced a product that is frankly difficult to impliment and lacks features, I've wondered whether we could devise a "wish-list" of sorts and deliver it to the development team responsible, or at least the program manager.
Any chance that any of the readers here are on the dev team and could share a little insight on what we might have to look forward to? A little taste of the upcoming chilipeppers, so to speak? A little bird told me a tidbit about unified calendars and messaging, but hoping theres a lot more backend additions as well.
I think we as users/admins/integrators of this product could shed a lot of insight into the product. I make a decent living implimenting SMJS in different scenarios, but am somewhat embarassed when customers ask me about the bugs and mis-documentation. I'd sure like to be proud of the product I believe in to be the best, but at the moment I'm somewhat disheartened to explain "uh no, sorry, that's a bug". Overall, I like the product, but there needs to be a clean-up of the backend. Right now, it looks like a hodge-podge of too many products.

Set the default size for all archive mailboxes including the ones it will be created in the future

We are in the phase where we Will enable Online Archive for all the users.
We see that the default Archiving Quota is set up for 50 GB. We have found this powershell command on MsTechnet forum
Get-Mailbox -resultsize unlimited | where {$_.ArchiveDatabase -ne $null} | set-mailbox -ArchiveQuota 7GB -ArchiveWarningQuota 6GB
which I guess it will set up the ArchiveQuota to 7GB to all the users, true?
The question is if this command will work only for those users who currently have archiving enabled or it Will also work for those users which we are planing to enable archiving in the future?
The idea is that everyone would not have 50GB by default and this should be a default value also for those who currently do not have archiving enabled.

I don't quite get it.
I have created "for example" a database called: STH ARCHIVE.
Then if I take look on properties of this database this is how it's shown:
And now here comes the "tricky part" which is a little bit odd to me.
I have enabled archive on my mailbox and selected this STH ARCHIVE DB to hold this archive mailbox.
Then I have manually ran ManagedFolderAssistant for my account: Start-ManagedFolderAssistant -Identity "my-email-address"
And after I have greped the size of my mailbox:
Get-Mailbox | Get-MailboxStatistics -Archive | Sort totalitemsize -desc | ft displayname,totalitemsize, itemcount >C:\report-archive-database-mailboxes.txt
And get the result:
Personal Archive - MYUSERNAME
TotalItemSize: 4.071 GB (4,371,586,689 bytes)
ItemCount: 55227
So now I don't understand how I was able to go thru that sizes which are in the upper print screen of archive DB properties?

If you have a wireless internet connection, which i am assuming you do, there should be some sort of RJ45 jack on the back. It looks like a telephone jack, only wider. Plug your router into this. You may also need to hookup things such as power cable. See the documentation that came with your router. There will also be some setup steps you need to do to get it running. See your manual, or CD-Rom for this.

If you purchased about 2 years ago new I am sure it is a Intel iMac. To find out what type of iMac you have just click on the Apple menu item in the finder and select about this Mac. I would check the ISP mail site and get the correct outgoing mail server info.

The Simpsons hit and run is one of the best games I have ever played and i would adore it if it was put on the play station store because it would make me feel like an eight year old again. I would pay good money for this game at least eight or nine pounds maby ten and im sure lots of other people would too. What will HP fix on the pavilion 9400 series? Mine seems to be overheating

Ive seen several referenced postings in the forum to overheating and other issues with this series model of laptop. I bought one used, reloaded it to factory image, and its exhibiting slowdowns, like its running at half speed, after about 2 hours. I suspect over temp, but havent put a temp monitoring sw package on it yet. Its not a processor load issue based on what I see in Task manager, and its got 2G of ram, showing under 35% utilized average.
But I did recently update the bios to almost the most recent version (web page wouldnt provide the latest version, broken link) thinking that HP may have changed the algorithims on when the fan runs
Ive seen a link to a list of problems that HP will fix for this series, but the link is stale. Can anyone provide an update as to what HP will fix and what they wont? And is this for warranty work only or is there a recall on the unit, other than the battery?
Regarding the otemp situation, anyone have suggestions on what to do to make this thing a bit more reliable, like how to clean out fan unit and cooling chamber, etc?

I agree and assumed if it affected the index that it would be by a small amount 1 or 2 tenths in possibly 1 or 3 area's. The FSB is a important one in regards to if this system can actually handle the faster memory. Or like U said the system will just downgrade it...
I could save some money if I just bought one 8 gig strip of the slower memory and replaced the 2 gig strip I have and end up with 12 gigs total. But once again what does this really do for me? I do play games... That is why I asked in original post if it actually would give me more total video memory by doing the upgrade.
With the current 6 gigs of memory what is max % the video can use. If I increase to 12 or 16 gigs what is max % the video can use?
HP Employee might be needed to answer these questions.

What will permanently write on the surface of my MacBook?

I'm going to ask Buzz Aldrin to autograph my MacBook. I've been trying markers on the battery-- ALL of them smudge and come almost completely off after drying, including Sharpie!
Has anyone successfully (or accidentally) gotten marker on their MacBook that has not smudged or come off whatsoever, and if so, what was the brand?

I used to hunt autograph for my pearly white gitar, and usually after somebody signed it, I let it dry for a day and then sprayed lightly acrylic clear coating from a pressured spray can.
It will prevent the autograph to become easily wear off or smearing by my sweat or somebody touched it.
