What will happen if i bend my macbook air screen too much?
Today my father accidently put too much pressure bending my screen it was on the limit but still he jus kept putting pressure so i wanted to know wil this break my laptop in any way?
Absolutely, the screen will only take so much pressure before the screen will break! Depending on your model that would be a very expensive repair.

What will happen if i reformat my macbook ?
I want to know what will happen if i reformat my macbook pro , is it complicating ? to do it
The lagging..freezing..and so on could be caused my a number of problems. Search these forums using keywords to find recommended fixes.
Reinstalling (reformatting) a Mac is almost never required. That approach is a Windows technique.

On the find my iphone app there is a lock feature for my macbook. If I put a code in and someone took my laptop will they still be able to access (use) my macbook ?
Welcome to Apple Support Communities
If you activate lock mode, your Mac will be locked the next time it connects to Internet and it has your Apple ID. After being locked, it won't be possible to use it anymore unless you have the passcode. The answer to the question is maybe, but normally, it should be locked the next time it gets connected to Internet if the thief doesn't change the Apple ID -
What Would Happen if I Locked My MacBook Air?
I have been thinking what would hapen if i locked my mac.
If you know THANK YOUThis is what happens after remotely locking your Mac: When the Mac connects to a wireless network, it will restart on its own, rebooting from the Recovery partition. A prompt to enter the code you specified will appear. The Mac's contents cannot be accessed until that code is entered. Upon entering the code it will restart and the normal Login screen will appear.
Concurrently, you will receive an email informing you that your Mac has been remotely locked. -
What will happen if i delete my icloud account from my macbook?
I have both an iPhone 4s and and a macbook pro, they are both signed in on the same icloud account, which my dad's phone is also signed in to. if i delete my icloud account from my macbook what will happen? i have already deleted it from my iphone and everything was still there, what with my mac?
You just need to sign out on the Mac, everything will be on iCloud but no longer on the Mac.
System Preferences>iCloud>Sign Out -
My macbook pro recently got swiped and I lost all my data, problem is, just before it was swiped I set up my new iphone 5 which transferred all my photos and music over which is no longer on the computer. What will happen to my phone if I plug it in?
I never used icloud before so there is no data to back up from. I just spoke to the apple store and they said that if I do plug it in, all the data will be swiped....is there a program I can use to transfer my data from my phone to computer without loosing it all ???

What will happen if I install Lion on my macbook pro core duo??
What will happen if I install Lion on my macbook pro core duo? I have one of the first Intel MacBook Pro's with a Core Duo processer, I'm having hard drive problems so want to format it and re-install my OS. I can't find my Snow Leopard disk so the easiest thing to do would be to download Lion but I have been told that my MacBook needs to have a Core 2 Duo processer so I just wondered if anyone else has tried Lion on a MacBook like mine??
Nothing.
Lion will not run on a core duo, it needs a core 2 duo as a minimum
see Technical Specifications
Also you will need SL running to access the App Store to download Lion. So In a number of ways this won;t work.

I want to get a Nikon D3100, but my macbook has OS 10.5.5 on it and I've read that the D3100 needs at least 10.6.5. What will happen if I try to use this camera with my computer? Will iPhoto simply not recognize it or will I get distorted pictures, or....what?

The manual says
❚❚ Supported Operating Systems The supplied software can be used with computers running the following operating systems: • Windows: <snip>
• Macintosh: Mac OS X (version 10.4.11, 10.5.8, 10.6.4)
Nikon say that you need 10.6.5+ for the latest firmware, although I don't see why.
Thanks for that! I was looking for that manual, but for some reason, couldn't find it.
I guess I'll have to contact Nikon and find out what the real story is. The camera was introduced in '08 or '09, so I'm wondering why you'd need software as recent as 10.6.5??
Still very confusing. :-?
Why does it state that the camera is compatible with "10.4.11, 10.5.8..."? Does that mean that anything between 4.11 and 5.8 is incompatible???
BTW, I tried downloading the 10.5.8 combo update recently and got an error message that the update was "corrupted" after it was all downloaded, so I was not able to install that. -
I have a single Pixel that is broke on my 2 month old retina macbook pro. I have Apple care. What will Happen if I bring it to an apple store.
You can try to see if they will replace it, however there is some sort of acceptable amount of stuck pixels and they won't replace so I hear.
But that was a long time ago and things change. -

If I buy a MacBook pro now, what will happen with it once the Lion OS makes it's appearance? Will I need to buy a new one again?
Lion will run on most Intel machines. It will not run on the following machines:
MacBook Pro (sold before October 2006)
MacBook (sold before November 2006)
Mac Mini (sold before August 2007)
iMac (sold before September 2006)
It requires an Intel Core 2 Duo (or later CPU). Those machines listed above were all Intel Core Duo machines and with the exception of one of the Mac Minis, an Intel Core Solo. So we're talking 4+ year old machines. I have not tested Lion on a machine with anything less than 2GB of RAM.
Wikipedia has a pretty good public summation of what's known so far and it's quite accurate - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mac_OS_X_Lion
The biggest thing of note so far is that you cannot install/run Rosetta. Which maybe problematic for some users. -
Macbook in Repair. What will happen?
My macbook went into a repair shop because there was a yellowish discoloration near the palm rests. What will they replace? Will they replace it? What will happen?
What was the reason Apple had you send it in? If it was for discoloration, more that likely, plastics will get replaced. They replaced mine and they weren't even changing color. Unfortunately, the service tech was obviously reckless when working on mine and put a few scratches in my outer case.

I have always synced my iPhone with my PC, what will happen if I sync my iPhone with my new Macbook Air?
I am hoping to switch from being dependent solely on my PC to rarely using it and having freedom to use either more Mac/iPhone and less PC, but I have my MSOffice software on the PC .
I want to sync my iPhone and not lose anything and have a faster experience.Check out this user tip from TuringTest:

What will happen if I change the name of my Apple Id?
I have only one Apple Id, which is my email address "[email protected]". My Apple Id and primary email are the same. I now have a new email address, and want to change my Apple Id to my new email address. I've been to the Apple Id support page, and have found out how to change the Apple Id on the Apple Id support webpage. I've been reluctant to go through with the process, because I'm unsure as to what the consequences will be if I change my Apple Id. I have an iPhone and an iPad as well as two Macs and an Apple TV hooked up to my Apple Id. My iMac is the main computer used for storing all files and syncing my iOS devices. In addition my contacts and calendar is in the iCloud. I hope someone with the know-how or experience can help me answer the following questions:
1. iPhone and iPad: Once I change my Apple Id, have I understood it correctly when the next thing I do is that I go to General settings -> Store, and sign out from my "old" Apple Id, and then sign in with the new name for my Apple Id? Will my previous purchases of music, ibooks and apps be connected to the new name of my Apple Id, and will I still be able to get previously purchased apps updated? As for iCloud, what must I do on my iPhone and iPad to make sure that contacts and calendars keep in sync?
2. iCloud: Will changing the name of the Apple Id on the Apple Id support webpage be the only thing I need to do, or are there more steps to follow?
3. iMac and MacBook Pro: Am I right in assuming that all I need to do is sign out from the old named account and then sign in with the new name in AppStore, iTunes, FaceTime and Messages app? Is the Apple Id in use by any other apps or functions?
4. Apple TV: Once my iMac is up and running with the new name of the account, I sign out from the old named account, then sign in with the new name, will streaming music and photos etc. work just as before the name change?
5. I still haven't activated Mail in iCloud. As I understand, once you do that you will be prompted to register a @me.com or @icloud.com email address. Will this address now be possible to use instead of my new email address as the name for my Apple Id?
A lot of questions, still I'd be grateful for some answers.Yinghai wrote:
Hi, everyone,
I just began to use TM to back up my mac. I already have a full backup. Now I want to exclude some folder from backup. I can do this in the option dialog of TM. But I wonder what will happen after I add a new exclude folder. Will TM begin to build a new full backup or just continue to back up incrementally from the older full copy? Thanks.
Time Machine will continue to do incremental backups.
It won't immediately delete previous backups of the items you exclude (but it will, eventually). You can do that yourself, if you want, per #12 in the Frequently Asked Questions *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
