I keep having the error message that says, "not responding". I am afraid to clear the browsing history because I might lose everything I have saved. Please let me know what I need to do and how safe is it to delete the entire list of browsing histroy.

The term "history" has two possible meanings: one is just narrowly the pages you have visited and when you visited them, and another is all your personal data. For example, if you use the Clear Recent History dialog and expand it to show the checkboxes, you can see what might be cleared in that process.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Could you try these two diagnostic tests to see whether we can narrow down the cause of the problem?
(1) Firefox's Safe Mode
This is a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
Any difference?
(2) Disable Flash until you approve it
By default, any site can use Flash. This permission setting changes that so sites can't use Flash without your approval. This can help diagnose whether the Flash plugin is responsible for the non-responsiveness.
Open the Add-ons page using either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Plugins.
On the right side, look for "Shockwave Flash" and change "Always Activate" to "Ask to Activate".
Now, when you visit a site that wants to use the Flash, you should see a notification icon in the address bar and one of the following: a link in a black rectangle in the page or an infobar sliding down between the toolbar area and the page.
You only need to allow Flash if it looks as though it would be helpful.

Background: I found it easier to identify duplicated songs in windows explorer as the songs will be renamed .... 1.mp3, thus enabling me to remove the duplicated songs; unlike in iTunes where I know the trick of showing duplicate songs, but you don't know which one is the one with 1 at the end of the file name.

One way is to use iTunes Folder Watch with its option to check for dead tracks on start up.
Another option is with a set of Lost & Found playlists.
Lost & Found
Create a playlist called Found, select everything in Music and drag it into the Found playlist. Create a smart playlist called Lost matching All the rules Playlist is Music and Playlist is not Found. Your lost tracks will be in this playlist. You can delete them all with a Ctrl-A to select them and Shift-Delete to remove them.
You can then delete the Lost & Found playlists.

Make a back up now, so things at least can't get any worse.
Then quit and try again.
If that fails:
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

This is a file that the contents of your computer's memory are written to when your computer goes to sleep. It will always be there, or recreated if it's missing, as long as you have a newer Intel based Mac with the new safe sleep mode.

As a general rule though, you really shouldn't be deleting files from the /private directory without knowing exactly what they are for... the directory is labelled /private for a reason

i have found that my macbook only support total of 2GB memory with 1GB memory at each module. i was just wandering what will happen if i put 4GB (2 x 2GB sticks) memory kit in my macbook.
At some forums i have found that it may support upto 3 or 3.3GB memory but will putting extra memory have any kind of negative effect ???
and does any one know what is the supported memory limit of my macbook ???

I'll start by saying that I've read Intel's chipset datasheets, including their sections on memory controllers, dual-channel, memory speeds, etc. With Intel's memory controller chipsets, they don't access two modules in parallel as an effectively doubled-width data bus. If you are asking what happens when you delete an iCloud backup, it only deletes the backup from your account. It won't do anything to the data on your phone or in your iCloud account. If you don't need to backup you can delete it. (If you no longer want to back up your phone to iCloud, turn iCloud backup off in Settings>iCloud>Backup. Then your phone will back up to your computer each time you sync it with iTunes.)

No reason to be embarassed. You are not alone.
You will need an external drive. If you have a Time Machine drive without enough disk space you can create the clone there however it's advised that you keep your Time Machine and clone on separate drives. If the drive dies you loose both types of backup.
Download and install the clone software. Everyone has their favorite. These are the two most common applications used. I prefer SuperDuper because of it's simplicity in setting up. It's also free for the first clone where with CCC you have to give a Credit Card then cancel if you do not want to keep.
