Not much. You will have to re-enter your WiFi passwords, and may have to redo some of your Settings.

I lost my personal hotspot setting. Just wondering what will happen if I reset. Will my phone automatically reset or will I need passwords, etc?

Your phone will not reset, BUT any wi-fi connection you had will be erased. In order to rejoin them you will need the security key.

what will happen if i reset my iphone ..will i lose my contacts??

No. You will not lose your contacts just by resetting.
If at some point you need to restore your iPhone, you can re sync your contacts using iTunes.

Good idea to create a backup if you haven't done so. Instructions at that link.

If you are asking what happens when you delete an iCloud backup, it only deletes the backup from your account.  It won't do anything to the data on your phone or in your iCloud account.  If you don't need to backup you can delete it.  (If you no longer want to back up your phone to iCloud, turn iCloud backup off in Settings>iCloud>Backup.  Then your phone will back up to your computer each time you sync it with iTunes.)

  • TS1538 Can I reset my iPod nano? What will happen after I reset it?

    Hello there,
I don't know if I can reset my iPod nano. If I do this, what will happen to it? Will I lost all my songs? I don't know why iTunes not recognized my ipod, which I have IPod in to my MacPro Retina OXS 10.9.1? I hope anyone can answer my questions...

What do you mean by a reset? If you mean depressing the buttons until the Apple icon appear then no. How you resetdepends upon the model Nano.
If you mean restore via iTunes, that erases the iPod.
If you need more help post in the iPod Nano forum. This is the iPod touch forum

  • HT201274 What exactly will happened if I reset all content and settings

I upgraded this phone from someone else's old account bc I had info in their account I needed. Now I'm restricted from doing a lot of things because they're old passwords are still in the system how can I erase there're old IDs and passwords and change them to my own without losing all my contact information?

If you erase all content and settings it will wipe the phone and there will be nothing on it.  If you want to change Apple IDs:
For purchases, go to Settings>Store>Apple ID, tap the ID shown, sign out, sign back in with your ID
For iMessage, go to Settings>Messages>Receive At, tap the ID at the top, sign out, sign back in with your ID
For FaceTime, go to Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, sign back in with your ID
For iCloud, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up a new iCloud account on the phone with your Apple ID.
For mail accounts, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars, tap each account, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  Then set up your own.
That should about do it.  Note: for app updates, if there are apps on the phone that were purchased with his ID you will need to delete these from the phone and from your iTunes library (if there) in order to not be prompted for the password for his ID.  (Apps are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase them.)

  • What will happen if I reset my phone

I don't want to lose my pictures or contacts

Sorry, I meant restore, not reset.
Most of my voicemails are gone, but the old ones went when I upgraded anyway.
    My notes are still there.
My messages are gone and they're not available to re-download via iTunes.  I'm presuming there is a copy somewhere because they were available when I did the full restore from my old phone (which caused the imessage problems)
I'll have a look through my back ups and see if there is a way to retrieve them
If there are any messages or voicemails you want to keep, I would suggest saving them away from your phone before restoring it

  • What will happen if I delete all files .plist? specially from Web?

Could the app iWeb or in general the iMac get faster? iWeb is crashing and doing funny things all time today...
    Thnaks,
    Raúl

The first steps in troubleshooting iWeb are to quit the application, go to Home Folder/Library/Preferences and delete the file com.apple.iWeb.plist and relaunch.
If that doesn't do it, delete the .plist again, restart your Mac and run Disk Utility to repair permissions.

  • If a new apple id sign in.what will happen to the old apple id if you erase or reset the phone?

I buy a new iphone 5s and the store open it and put his apple id to download some stuff.. And after that i try to make my own apple id. What will happen if i erase all data and it is in need of apple id.. Will it be the old apple id or my apple id?? I heard that if i erase all data. The apple id of which i buy my iphone will appear and mine will not??

If the store setup the phone with an Apple ID/Password, that is not yours, & turned on Find My Phone, then you will need that Apple ID/Password to re-activate the phone. Called Activation Lock. Read here:

So, go back to the store where you got this phone & have them fix things.

  • HELP! Resetting all setting on iphone 5, but then i tried to restart it. Not sure if its stuck or resetting

Hi if you seen my previous post, or you might have not. My safari app isn't working and the setting for safari in setting insn't responding. I reset all setting hoping this would work and fix the problem. However, i held both the home and off button because i didn't want to do the reset anymore because i was stuck at one place for a long time. the reset with the home did happen, but the resetting all setting is still happening and progress bar hasn't move. Im not sure if its stuck or if its just taking a while.

  • Hello Guys, what would happen if I reset my iPhone5 - reset all settings

Hello Guys, what would happen if I reset my iPhone5 - reset all settings

If you select the option to reset settings, all settings will be back to default ones, but you will not lose any application, song, movie, etc.
If you select the option to reset all content and settings, your device will be wiped and it will be back to default settings, so you will need to set it up and transfer all your content to your phone
