What will happen to preinstalled software in laptop if upgrade to windows 10?

I have Windows 10 upgrade icon on my desktop now. I'm very happy to install it but before that I need your help to clarify some of my doubts. If I upgraded to windows 10,#will still my warrenty claims for me?# will my preinstalled softwares(like cyberlink,hp simple pass,HP support assistant ) will remains work properly? or whether it will be deleted without any prior information?
#will my windows(c: ) drive installed software( other than windows software) remains there? or whether it will be deleted without any prior information?

Hi, 1. Yes,2. During the upgrading process, it will ask you to keep or not. My suggestion: keep them all.3. Yes BUT must tick keep as above. Regards.

    RE: HP software update 2.11
i have an hp printer (of wich i am getting a replacement when i can)
i used to have a pc and the software was a nightmare it always wanted to update
and i dont trust or like hp software
will this update install an hp software program
i like the mac printer software i use it to scan and print just fine without the hp software
maybe a wierd question .. i might be a little scard from to much windows exposer haha

I don't blame you for your concern, but what will happen is probably nothing. No apps are installed, just new or updated drivers.
If you click the link associated with that update you will see a comprehensive list of all the updated HP drivers. The update probably delivers drivers for newer HP printers, leaving the older ones unaffected. If your existing printer is working you can just ignore the update.
I'm still using a LaserJet that I bought in 1993; the update didn't change anything.
If you are in the market for a new printer I recommend researching other manufacturers.

  • What will happen with my installed softwares?

Hi I am using MacBook Pro with C2D and having latest version of SL. But I have installed lots of software useful for my business including virtual machine and I am using Windows 7 ultimate on it. So I am wondering what will happen if I upgrade this to Lion? Do I need to install everything again or it will be as it is like on my snow leopard?

I don't know about VMware, but I can tell you that when I opened Windows XP the first time in Parallels after upgrading to Lion, I had to re-setup the virtual machine. Other than this, no problems. CS3 and older WILL NOT run in Lion, but CS4 and newer run without problems.
Go to About this Mac > applications, and here you can see which of your applications are PowerPC, thus not compatible with Lion.
    Cheers

  • What will happen to iPod 5G's info when I do a fresh Windows install?

Title basically says it all. I've been using my iPod Video as a storage device as well as for music, and I'm going to do a clean install of Windows XP in the near future-my CD/DVD drive has somehow failed to respond (code 41), so reinstalling Windows to factory settings should do the trick. Only problem I can foresee is what will happen to all the data on my iPod when I reinstall the CD software for iTunes and my iPod drivers-will all the data on my iPod disappear when I reconnect it to my laptop for the first time?
Just wondering if anyone's done this before, as I'll assume it's a typical topic.

When the iPod is connected to the PC after reinstalling Windows, a message will appear asking you if you want to change the computer the iPod is associated with will appear if iTunes is installed; pressing Erase & Sync on this dialog box will delete all content on the iPod that was synced from iTunes. Content copied to the iPod outside of iTunes will not be erased by iTunes unless you explicitly restore the iPod.

No reason to be embarassed. You are not alone.
You will need an external drive. If you have a Time Machine drive without enough disk space you can create the clone there however it's advised that you keep your Time Machine and clone on separate drives. If the drive dies you loose both types of backup.
Download and install the clone software. Everyone has their favorite. These are the two most common applications used. I prefer SuperDuper because of it's simplicity in setting up. It's also free for the first clone where with CCC you have to give a Credit Card then cancel if you do not want to keep.
    SuperDuper! http://www.shirt-pocket.com/

Select your drive in the To popup. Click on Copy Now. That's it.
Yes, it really is that simple....

  • What will happen if I restore my iPhone if it hasnt let me back it up?

I tried to back-up my iPhone 3gs but a message came up saying it needed to be updated first. I updated it and now there is a message on the phone screen saying that i need to connect to itunes, however when i try this, its telling me I need to restore my iPhone first. What will happen if I restore it with no way of knowing whether its backed up or not.
    Thank you
    Panicking!!!!!

Download iTunes into your computer/laptop.  Upon iTunes completion, connect your iPhone 3Gs to your computer via USB port.  Wait for a minute or 2.  iTunes would automatically backup your iPhone without you doing anything. Make sure you're connected to WIFI.
    Good luck

  • If I have converted my purchased iTunes songs to a lower bit rate what will happen when I join iTunes match? Will they match up or will these be stored as duplicates of the same song?

If I have converted my purchased iTunes songs to a lower bit rate what will happen when I join iTunes match? Will they match up or will these be stored as duplicates of the same song?
I ask because I primarily use my work laptop which has limited space so I usually convert my purchases to 160k from 256k in order to save space. I want to sign up for iTunes Match but I'd like to know before I do so I can understand how I will have to set up my library.

    crichton007 wrote:
What I may do is start a brand new library there, copy my tracks from my work laptop using Home Share and then the script to get things in sync before starting over again there too.
Why create a new library? Just add the tracks from the laptop to the existing library on the Mac.
    crichton007 wrote:
I was just hoping to hear definitively whether or not there was some sort of intelligence built into iTunes Match that would match these up...
How do you mean? If you down-convert purchased tracks you've fundamentally changed the files so iTunes can no longer recoginize them as "purchased." And, indeed, they no longer are since they are brand new files. Of course these new files will only be "matched" or "uploaded."

  • What will happen when I install Leopard?

So when leopard comes out in a few weeks and I install it, what will happen to all the files and apps on my computer. Will they be gone? Will I have to redo everything?
This is my first transition on a new OS X. I switched right aftr Tiger came out. What is going to happen?

    Fair comment!
If you want the full nine yards:
There are no guarantees, but following this procedure when installing updates and upgrades on your Mac will go a long way towards avoiding unpleasant after effects and ‘post-update stress disorder’.
It is also worth noting that it is an extreme rarity for updates to cause upsets to your system, but they may well reveal pre-existing ones, particularly those of which you may have been unaware. If you are actually aware of any glitches, make sure they are fixed before proceeding further.
So before you do anything else:
If you can, make a full backup first.
Turn off sleep mode for both screen and hard disk.
    1. Repair Permissions (in Disk Utility)
    2. Verify the state of your hard disk using Disk Utility. If any faults are reported, restart from your install disk (holding down the C key), go to Disk Utility, and repair your startup disk. Restart again to get back to your startup disk.
At least you can now be reasonably certain that your system does not contain any obvious faults that might cause an update/upgrade to fail.
    3. Download the correct version of the COMBO update from the Apple download site. If your car runs on gasoline you would not want to fill the tank with diesel, so don’t try to install the PPC updater on an Intel Mac!
If you prefer to download updates via Software Update in the Apple menu (which would ensure that the correct version for your Mac was being downloaded), it is not recommended to allow SU to install major (or even minor) updates automatically. Set Software Update to just download the updater without immediately installing it. There is always the possibility that the combined download and install (which can be a lengthy process) might be interrupted by a power outage or your cat walking across the keyboard, and an interrupted install will almost certainly cause havoc. Once it is downloaded, you can install at a time that suits you. You should make a backup copy of the updater on a CD in case you ever need a reinstall.
Using the Combo updater ensures that all system files changed since the original 10.4.0 are included, and any that may have been missed out or subsequently damaged will be repaired. The Delta updater, although a temptingly smaller download, only takes you from the previous version to the new one, i.e. for example from 10.4.9 to 10.4.10. Software Update will generally download the Delta updater only. The preferable Combo updater needs to be downloaded from Apple's download site.
    Now proceed as follows:
    4. Close all applications.
    5. Unplug all peripherals except your keyboard and mouse.
    6. Install the update/upgrade. Do not under any circumstances interrupt this procedure. Do not do anything else on your computer while it is installing. Be patient.
    7. When it ask for a restart to complete the installation, click restart. This can take longer than normal, there are probably thousands of files to overwrite and place in the correct location. Do nothing while this is going on.
    8. Once your Mac is awake, repair permissions again, and you should be good to go!
If your Mac seems slightly sluggish or ‘different’, perform a second restart. It can’t hurt and is sometimes efficacious!
    9. Open a few of your most used applications and check that all is OK. In this connection please remember that not all manufacturers of third party applications and plug-ins, add-ons, haxies etc, will have had time to do any necessary rewrites to their software to make them 10.4.10. compliant. Give them a weeks or two while you regularly check their websites for updates. This applies particularly to plug-ins for Safari 3.
N.B. Do not attempt to install two different updates at the same time as each may have different routines and requirements. Follow the above recommendations for each update in turn.

  • What will happen if I don't use apple's hdd?

    My HDD is passed away.
I'm using Macbook Unibody(A1342) and I will replace the HDD.
I heard that Apple's HDD has a temperature sensor.
So that If I don't use that, it will be a problem, as I heard.
What will happen if I don't use the Apple's HDD?

The tempeture sensor is on the logic board not the hard drive. Apple doesn't make any hard drives they buy them from other manufacturers.

You'll need a cheap SATA external hard drive case. Put the new drive in the case then format and partition the new drive and clone your old drive to the new one. Check that it's set up right by booting up from the external drive. Then replace your old hard drive with the new one and put your old one in the external case.

  • What will happen if I delete sleepimage?

What will happen if I delete sleepimage? I've read through several posts here but I'm not clear exactly what this does and if there are some dire consequences if I delete this from my laptop to make more room on my HD. Any clarifications much appreciated!

This is a file that the contents of your computer's memory are written to when your computer goes to sleep. It will always be there, or recreated if it's missing, as long as you have a newer Intel based Mac with the new safe sleep mode.
Here's a [MacWorld article|http://www.macworld.com/article/53471/2006/10/sleepmode.html] explaining the sleepimage file.
As a general rule though, you really shouldn't be deleting files from the /private directory without knowing exactly what they are for... the directory is labelled /private for a reason

  • What will happen when Zen7 is removed from eDir?

We are migrating to ZENworks 10. We are almost finished, but there are a handful of workstations that have not got the update, due to individual computer issues or laptops that aren't plugged in frequently.
The E directory administrators would like to uninstall/remove ZENworks 7 from the directory.
We are using Group policies, DLU, and some NAL objects.
NAL is no big deal since the user has to run those.
The absence of DLU should be fine I think since the users already have accounts on the local computer. But once they update their edir password it won't sync. Which is OK, because they'll call the helpdesk and we'll update them to zen10.
Big question, what will happen to the group policies? Will they continue to work locally off a cache or will they cease to work all together?
Are there any other problems to forsee?

There is no supported way to "contract" the eDirectory schema from it
    being extended to support ZENWorks.
You can delete all of the ZENWorks related objects though: NAL Apps,
Policy packages, workstations, inventory, etc. Then, disable the
startup of the ZENWorks services. Finally, remove the ZENWorks plug-ins
from ConsoleOne (or drop C1 altogether if you don't use GW).

  • What will happen if i dont back my mac up before installing os s yosmite beta

what will happen to my mac if i dont back it up before installing os x yosmite ?

We have no idea what might happen; it is not good to run beta software on a regular production machine. We also cannot help with any problem you might encounter - you will need to contact Apple and/or provide them feedback due to the confidentiality agreement (you're not allowed to discuss the beta anywhere and we're not allowed to discuss it).
So, if you want to install it, do so on an external drive or partition so your regular system is safe.

Nikon say that you need 10.6.5+ for the latest firmware, although I don't see why.
Thanks for that! I was looking for that manual, but for some reason, couldn't find it.
I guess I'll have to contact Nikon and find out what the real story is. The camera was introduced in '08 or '09, so I'm wondering why you'd need software as recent as 10.6.5??
    Still very confusing.  :-?
Why does it state that the camera is compatible with "10.4.11, 10.5.8..."? Does that mean that anything between 4.11 and 5.8 is incompatible???
BTW, I tried downloading the 10.5.8 combo update recently and got an error message that the update was "corrupted" after it was all downloaded, so I was not able to install that.

this is an sqlplus feature. If you do not useSQLPLUS, but something like toad or any other client,
    it will not work.
But, it gonna work with middleware softwares.well, if sqlplus could do it, another software could do the same. The trick is, you must reexecute the same select and be sure to get the rows in the same order !!!
If you do a fetch, this is ok, there is well a "select cursor" failover, but for a "bulk select", you should restart your query.
    >
well, the transaction will be rollback and you willlose contact if you use sqlplus
Not necessarly, if you configured load balance, then,
you wont loose the connection. Will not you? I must try it one day, I just removed RAC from my notebook last week because of the lack of disk space...

the select actually reexecutes on the other node insqlplus, but you only "see" the lines comming after
the current ones (but the whole select is

Exactly, but, user wont realizes this.apart from the time he will have to wait, which can be quite long if the query already returned 90% of the rows...
    >
Go through the link which I have provided in my
earlier reply for more understanding on type of
failover and load balance.well, quite unclear actually :
Therefore, with Transparent Application Failover, a client notices no connection loss as long as one instance remains active to serve the application... there is no "connection loss", which does not mean there is no "loss" !
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/network.920/a96580/advcfg.htm
    Active Transactions
Any active transactions are rolled back at the time of failure because TAF cannot preserve active transactions after failover. The application instead receives an error message until a ROLLBACK is submitted.
which means, your application must manually resent the transaction or whatever is appropriate
