What will it take to get Apple to make iOS 6 available again?

As customers, what can we do to persuade Apple to make iOS 6 available again? I am well aware of the fact that no one put a gun to our head and made us download this new operating system. I even watched the Apple dog and pony show in June, so I should have known better! But as a senior user, I had no idea that the thin line fonts would be so hard to read. The phone keypad is a good example. Is anyone out there having similar problems?

Sadly, Apple codes the new updates in a way so you can't downgrade to the previous update, such as iOS 6.
But you can change the font! Go to:
SETTINGS>>GENERAL>>ACCESSIBILITY and there is a whole new section to customize the iOS 7 font.

Thanks for the support. I guess you take one battle at at time because you hate to lose multiple battles and I picked this one. However, and this could go on quite a while, why do I have to buy another application to sort my bookmarks and have the sort sync the Cloud?. Bookmark sort - that is a programming 101 feature. Now I found that iPhoto can read AVCHD video files and Quicktime cannot. Oh my. I wish Apple would read the posts and actually take them into consideration. Find a copy of Leopard (call Apple Customer Support and tell them that you have a machine that can't run Snow Leopard).
You could also go to eBay.

What will it take to have decent native PDF annotation?

Hey guys,
I'm an academic that frequently needs to annotate pdfs. So far, the best solutions have been to install Wine and Foxit or PDF-exchange. However, I really want to have something that doesn't require me to install Wine or a bunch of 32-bit libraries.
So what will it take to have decent PDF annotation running natively in Linux. What needs to get added in evince/okular? Is there any sort of gameplan? I can't find any so far, but if there is, please point me to it so that I can contribute. If there are no efforts, please give me ideas to get started. I'm quite fed up now.
It's a cause worth getting behind. Students and other academics will highly appreciate such a feature.

In a way, I agree. But in another way, I disagree. In a sane world, you'd be right. In this world, you're wrong. If you have any contact with academia, at least, pdf and word documents are *the* file formats and if you can't work with them, you can't do anything except howl at the moon.
I don't think the situation with pdf is getting worse (and Trilby gives me hope ) but the situation with word documents is. I'm semi-seriously wondering if I should give up LaTeX and try to get hold of a copy of Office (and Windows) to dual boot. Conversion from LaTeX source used to be reasonably good. Now it is simply horrible and I have people telling me they cannot work with my files at all. That's pretty bad. I checked the file in a current version of Word and they were right. The conversion to .odt left a great deal to be desired (why does it turn every quotation into a separate section for goodness sake?) but the export from LibreOffice was simply horrendous. It just stuck endnotes in the middle of pages, included weird and almost-impossible-to-remove formatting etc. etc.
I'm not saying this is LO's fault. Office formats are a moving target and the target is deliberately moved in especially difficult to discern ways. But if publishers and editors insist on Word documents (and they do), it doesn't really matter whose fault it is.

There are so many apps available that are not included in the ovi store.... like "s60spoton" It allows you to use your cameras flash as a flash light! I've been wanting this forever. If this app was easily available on the Ovi store, I would have been able to find it easily... but it was linked to me in a forum.

It's the maker of an apps responsibility to get it listed on the store so if it's not on there it's because the maker hasn't put it there.
Nokia cannot put apps on the store without the makers consent.
Only the maker/publisher of an app can tell you why their app isn't on the store. It may be for financial reasons, legal reasons, licensing issues, piracy concerns or they may just have ceased development and moved on.
The ovi store isn't the only source of applications and some developers prefer to use independant sites like www.getjar.com instead.

Apple can't do it, only you could potentially do it if you had enabled Find My iPad on it before it was stolen.
If it was stolen then you should report it to the police. As a safety precaution you should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.

Not a lot. Once the decision had been made to get rid of MobileMe the writing was always on the wall for iWeb, so now that they have made the decision there is absolutely nothing that anyone can do.
You can still use iWeb 08 that you have got or you can upgrade to iWeb 09 by purchasing a copy of iLife 09 or 11 from Amazon.

I am trying to find out what it will take to get my account cancelled... I called more than a week in advance of my move to set up the cancellation of my FIOS home service and was assured that was all I needed to do; I would receive my final bill in the mail. However, a week after I moved, my account was charged and my autopay paid my bill of nearly $200 for services this month in a home I no longer live in, for an account that should no longer be active. I called and spoke with no fewer than 12 agents over that week, including someone who after 43 minutes of being passed around HUNG UP on me! Finally I spoke with someone who was helpful and said my account was deactivated, and in about 14 business days I should get a refund check in the mail. Well, three weeks later, my account has still not been cancelled and I have not gotten my refund! I just called again and spoke with an agent who told me he couldn't help me and I needed to call back another office on Monday. It has been nearly a month since I moved and this account was supposed to be cancelled and I still cannot get anyone to just stop the account! What does it take at Verizon to end my service???

What's it take to get LabView up and running?

Hello. I'm new to LabView and in the process of learning what I can about it by working through a couple of training books. Anyway, what do I need to get LabView 6.1 to control Agilent and Anritsu test equipment -- specifically voltage supplies, a network analyzer, and a spectrum analyzer. I presently have a GPIB card in the computer. Is any other hardware required to get this operational? Where do I find drivers? Thanks for any response.

Assuming you've got cables to connect your GPIB card to your instruments, I don't think you need any additional hardware in order to use LabVIEW to automate the control of the instruments.
I'll assume that your GPIB card is installed and functional if not, try its self-tests or go to http://www.ni.com/support/gpib/ for help.
To install LabVIEW instrument drivers for your instruments, go to http://ni.com/idnet and browse or search your way to the drivers you need. This will give you a suite of LabVIEW VIs to programmatically control your instruments from LabVIEW.
After you download and install the drivers (instruction links on the driver pages), you can get up to speed by examining the Application Example that will likely appear in the palettes for your i
nstruments. There's also a CD available of all of our instrument drivers; you can request one from your NI sales engineer.
As a final note, the LabVIEW Basics I training course (http://ni.com/training) does an excellent job of teaching this topic (the final day of the course) as well as teaching LabVIEW programming fundamentals.

My mum has gone on holiday to bangladesh for 2 weeks and in return for house sitting and dog sitting, has left her IPad her for my Girlfriend to play on! The issue is my girlfriend wants to be able to play certain games with her own account! So I would like to know what will happen if she was to switch to her account using her apple id??
A: If she signs my mum out of her apple account will all the apps be removed ?
B: Once my girlfriend signs in will it automatically install all her apps
C: So I guess the best way to describe it is, can my girlfriend switch accounts without affecting any of my mums apps, and of course after the 2 weeks are up switch back to my mums account.

You could back up granny's iPad and restore it from your girlfriend's computer then reverse that when she returns.

You can remove granny's account in Settings > iTunes & Apps, change it to the girlfriends and have her download her apps. This will not delete granny's apps but if she has autoupdate turned on they will not update. When granny is returning have your girlfriend first delete all of her apps then sign granny back in.
You will need grannie's password for here Apple ID for any of this to work.
