What wireless card can enable my U530 use 5GHz network

The built-in Intel N 7260 on U530 is just single band. I can't use 5GHz network. Also, I found this wireless card really sucks! Sometimes, it stops working.
My old laptop's Intel N 6205 is much better, never had this kind of problem.
I wonder what kind of wireless card could be for replacement? Could anyone provide the purchase link for me? Do I have to de-whitelist the BIOS? My current wireless card on U530 is shown as below. Thanks!

  • What gift cards can i use for a nigerian iTunes account?

i've got a nigerian itunes account but the app prices are in US dollars and when i tried buying an app with my account the money was deducted but the download didn't come through, so now i wanna use gift cards but can't figure out what gift cards to get

    Hi,
i've got a nigerian itunes account but the app prices are in US dollars
With iTunes open, select iTunes Store on the left in the source list. Then click the round flag icon bottom right corner of that window to change countries.
Click Change Country bottom of the window here >  http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/giftcards/itunes/gallery
I don't see Nigeria on the list.
A credit or debit card credentials must be associated with the same country where you reside.
"Although you can browse the iTunes Store in any country without being signed in, you can only purchase content from the iTunes Store for your own country. This is enforced via the billing address associated with your credit card or other payment method that you use with the iTunes Store, rather than your actual geographic location."

  • How can I select which channel the wireless card on the Macbook Pro uses?

    Hi,
I have a MacBook Pro which must be 5-6 years old running OS ver10.5.8 with the following wireless card details..
Wireless Card Type:          AirPort Extreme  (0x168C, 0x86)
      Wireless Card Locale:          Worldwide
      Wireless Card Firmware Version:          1.4.16.2
      Current Wireless Network:          ML MC
      Wireless Channel:          6
.. and a Time Capsule running firmware ver 7.6.1.
We recently installed a faster broadband connection and for some reason the pc’s (recent purchases) we have are regularly getting a 37Gb max download speed and the MacBook Pro is regularly getting only 19Gb max download speed.  All the computers are connecting through the same Time Capsule to the net.  On the Time Capsule the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bandwidths are set so the channel is selected automatically.
Is the max download speed on the MacBook pro slower because of the wireless card in it?  And if so, how can I check?  Could I manually adjust it to a faster setting?
    Thanks,
    Simon

Channels are managed by the router and the automatic settings on your TC is about right - unless you have general WiFi issues.
Your slower speed is down to the older Airport card in your MBP.

  • What Wireless Card for Satellite A10-S213

    Hi,
My laptop is A10-S213. I am going to go wireless next week. I think I need to buy a wireless card in order to be wireless enabled. Could someone tell me _*WHAT*_ kind of card should I buy and _*WHERE*_ would be the best value place to get it from?
P.S.: I checked the product specification, it says 802.11b.
    Many thanks.
    Florence

    Hello
According notebook specification your A10 is WLAN ready and it can be upgraded with WLAN card.
As compatible cards I have founded Wireless LAN card PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802.11b) and PA3273U-2MPC (802.11a/b). Google a little bit around and pick up info about price and shops where you can order it.
    Bye and good luck!

  • Intel pro wireless card can not connect

Since some weeks, i can not use my wireless network, it does not associate the access point.
The cared is a intel pro, using the agn driver.
I can not connect to my wep key protected home network, or public, unprotected accesspoints.
I tried various parameters with iwconfig, without success, so I assume the kernel module is broken.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Rather than blaming devs for putting out faulty software, if I were you I'd look at myself - the PEBKAC problem . So an upgrade broke it. When was this? What packages where upgraded? Check your pacman log (yes, it exists).
You are aware the module name for Intel's wireless cards changed? Instead of referring to the card model it's now iwlcore and iwlagn. But then again, if you let udev figure it out, there shouldn't be the slightest problem in that upgrade.
Care to share any of your cherished errors? Without them there's not much we can do. The BBS has been out of crystal bowls for a long time.
Dear mr. B, I do not blame anybody anything. I report, as is, it does not work. On my system, in the hope that someone have something meaningful to say, not because I hoped for you to call me names. I do not know what your acronym means, and I do not wish to find out, since it appearently is there to make me less. I do not care for that.
The kernel modules that are loaded on my system, and was back when I had working wifi support, are iwlcore and iwlagn. I do not know that the iwlwifi-4965-ucode package is used for anything, I installed it because the before-mentioned wiki page recommends that, and I did get working support. I do not try to configure it by hand, I trust udev/hal/whatever is there to handle the hardware.
But, sorry for repeating, since some time, I can not connect to an access point. No matter if I try cli commands or use wicd or networkmanager applets. The result appears to be the same, there is no error from iwconfig, which does not succeed.
I can't even remember the date it went wrong, but i know that the kernel was updated as a part of that particular update. rolling back the kernel did not help though.

  • What wireless card do I put in my HP PAVILION DV6748US ENTERTAINMENT NOTEBOOK PC? Have 2 options.

I need to replace the wireless card in my notebook but I don't know which to choose. There's the Broadcom 4311AG Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g mini PCI adapter card(Bevo) - 54Mbps data rate, 2.4GHz operating frequency range -  For Rest of World (ROW) or the Broadcom 4321AGN 802.11a/b/g/draft-n mini-PCI adapter card - For Most of the world MOW. I don't know which one to pick.

It is a standard laptop 2.5 inch wide SATA hard drive like shown in this picture:
Look at Page 9 of this Manual:
    Drive Manual
This will show how to replace it. Do you have the recovery disks that you could have made when the laptop was new? If not you are going to have to get a Windows disk or some HP recovery disks.
Here is a drive that would work for you.
    160 gig 7200 rpm drive for $45
This drive will be faster than what you had and is a bit larger. A very good deal for the price. You perhaps already have a second hard drive in the system. See the manual on page 9 for the location of both hard drive bays. You could move the secondary drive (if there is one) over into the primary position without spending a nickel. In fact, that is a great idea. If you do that and still get the BSOD, then it might well be something else going on other than the hard drive. The hard drive is a likely issue but it could also be the memory and other things, too. However, I think the second drive is only found in the dx9000 models so do not be shocked if you do not have a secondary hard drive bay in your machine. I have never seen a dx6000 series but am pretty sure it is a lot like the dv6000 series of which I have seen more than my share. They have a lot of issues and I am concerned you will be spending money on a new hard drive that will not fix anything.
Feel free to post back with issues or questions.

  • What wireless router would be good to use with OS 10 Lion at home?

I have a Mac Book Pro with Leapard and I just recently purchaced a iMac with Lion. I want to set up a wireless network with my provider, in my house. What wireless router should I use that is compatable with Lion OS?

Virtually any modern wireless router that has its latest Firmware updates should work fine.  I myself have been extremely pleased with my Apple Airport Extreme wireless router, but spending that much money is not necessary.
    Hope this helps

  • What wireless card works well with Arch?

    Hello there
I recently finished building my quad-core (yay!) pc and because I don't want to run a long ethernet cable across the house, I was wondering if you guys knew any wireless cards I could use for my desktop (PCI/PCI-Express) that would work well with arch. I'd prefer to order it over the internet, and don't want to spend more than $100 (tax/shipping included). I know there was an earlier thread about this, but I didn't want to revive it and I also had some "requirements" in which I pick out. All help is appreciated

wow thank u very much wow. i am handicap so i am not a computer guy. thanks again do u think i should wait for black friday or cyber monday and my budget is 200 if they dont drop maybe 270x i will buy
They will always be dropping in price and there will always be something faster coming out next month, but it's not a bad idea to wait for black friday or cyber monday. My normal advice is buy as much card as you can afford today and be happy.
    $200 range, I'd look at this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127761
It's a great card, I'm running a pair of last year's models at 5760x1080, medium to high on most games with some eye candy turned on. A single card should perform great at your resolution.

  • Wireless Router can't see other computers on network

I have a home network set up as follows:
Cable modem connected to a VOIP modem then it is connected to a 8 port switch.
I have 2 computers and a Linksys wireless router connected to the switch.
The 2 computers can see each other on the network.
When I connect to the wireless router I can access the internet but cannot see the other two computers on the network.
When I connect to the switch via a wire I can see the network.
Is the wireless router blocking my access to the network?
What can I do to be able to see the network through the wireless router?
    Thanks,

Click here, install the DVD, run Software Update, open the Mac App Store, and try purchasing Mountain Lion. If you get told it's incompatible, phone the online Apple Store and order a download code for Lion.
