What wireless port needs to be allowed through in the firewall to allow printing in Win 7?

I have a Selphy CP910 and the only way that i can get it to print wirelessly in Win 7 is to disable my Windows firewall and Windows Defender.
What specific ports do I have to allow through on the firewall to all wireless printing without totally disabling the firewall?

Hi rpavich,
The SELPHY CP910 uses the following ports:
80, 9100 and 8611
Allowing these through your firewall should allow you to print  without disabling it.

Have AE7; Problem importing prproj file into pc; get placeholder instead. What do I need to do to open up the video files here. They are .mov in quicktime.

Please be more specific. What Premiere project? What version of Premiere? Which operating system? What CoDecs do the QT fiels use? Are all the video files in the correct folders inside the Premiere project structure? Your description sounds like you are attempting to open a Mac based project on a PC and your video files are either in the wrong location or use a Mac-specific CoDec, hence they cannot be read on a PC.

  • I have Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 what do I need to do to upgrade to the latest version of software??

I have Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 what do I need to do to upgrade to the latest version of software??

Depends what MacBook version you have.
Go to  > About This Mac > More Info > hardware overview (should open at that usually).
Check the model identifier (MacBook4.1 or similar)
    Check Processer Name
    Processer speed
    Memory
    Specs for Snow Leopard (10.6.x)
    And for Lion (10.7.x);
Note that the memory quoted in those specs is absolute minimum for each OS - 106 really needs at least 2GB and Lion 4GB

what permission is needed for a login to access the restored database(backup from different server)
frequently reach the situation, when vendor restores a database, but he cannot access it unless I remap or add his login to the restored database. What permssion can grant the vendor so that he can but only can access the database he restored, not all other
    databases.

    Hi George,
According to your description, When you move a database from one server that is running SQL Server to another server that is running SQL Server, a mismatch may occur between the security identification numbers (SIDs) of the logins in the master database
and the users in the user database. As other post, you can use the sp_change_users_login stored procedure to map SQL Server logins. Also , you can use the following statement after doing the restore database. It will
fix the mis-mapped SID inside the restored DB.
    ALTER USER <username> WITH LOGIN = <username>

  • HT203052 what incoming ports need to be open?

My windows pc at work does not get updates. Outgoing is ok. I am sure its our firewall, but what ports need to be open?

    Hi there Brett Higginbotham,
I see that you have done a little troubleshooting and determined that the ports may not be the issue that is preventing you from connecting to the iCloud Drive. You may want to take a look at the following link to help you continue troubleshooting, as it may resolve the issue from a security software standpoint:

  • What ports need to be opened from apple's firewall?

I googled that qmaster uses port 10012 tcp&udp, but what ports need to be open for Qadministrator and Batch Monitor?
They didn't seem to work just with 10012.
Is there any documents about this from apple?
Idea of just leaving firewall off sounds like Microsoft in te 90s'.
And even they have made an interactive firewall that asks you to open a port when some application tries to use it.
Well, these fcp applications are sooo PRO...

On the Qmaster system prefs pane, turn on the "Show Qmaster status in menu bar" option in the advanced tab.
Then click the Qmaster icon on the menu bar, and it will show you all active Qmaster services, and their TCP port. You would need that port open. You need to do this on every computer on the cluster.
In your setup, are all the computers on the same subnet? Although you may be on a large network, you can rope off your systems into their own sub network, with a master firewall and avoid this type of problem. Each computer will have a different port, and that port will change every single time you start and stop the service. The TCP port will fall between 40000 and 65536 (the highest port ranges).
So, again I recommend protecting the network which will protect all the systems universally. But try setting the TCP ports listed on all the service nodes, and remember that those will change whenever you start and stop the service. (I'm not sure if the port will change after a reboot as well.)
    Good luck

  • What do I need to do after I upgrade the hard drive on my macbook pro?

I just bought a new 13" Macbook pro i5 on May/03/13 but I need more space and I want to upgrade my Hard Drive from the 500GB it come's with to a 750GB. So I just want to know the steps I need to take after I do the upgrade and start up my Macbook, Someone told me that the Macbook won't work right away because I have to do something to it, I just dont know what. Can anybody plz tell me what I have to do after I do the upgrade step by stpe? Thank You!
Oh and my Macbook pro is on OSX 10.8.3

Correct. After installing the new hard drive, your Mac won't have any operating system, so you will have to reinstall OS X using Internet Recovery > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718
To start in Internet Recovery, hold Command, Option (Alt) and R keys while your Mac is starting. Then, open Disk Utility and create a partition formatted with "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)", if it hasn't been already created. Finally, close Disk Utility and reinstall OS X.
If you want to copy all the data you had on the old hard drive into the new one, use Disk Utility's Restore feature > http://pondini.org/OSX/DU7.html Note that you will have to buy an enclosure to put the old hard drive

  • What do I need to do to remove vertical lines from my photo prints?

Using  Lr5 HP Photosmart printer. tried turning off sharpening, adj brightness and some contrast. printing on Hp glossy paper

To me that means you have at least one jet that is either broken or plugged.  If repeated head cleaning does not do the trick, there are ways to use a lintless cloth or paper towel, soaked in ink cleaner (similar to windex but needs to be chemically compatible with the plastic printer parts) rested against the head for a 24 - 48 hr soak.
But a self test of inkjets should show the problem first.  What does that test show?
Also try printing the same test image at every different quality settings (dpi) to see if that can break thru the problem.....sometimes an old printer only works well at some dpi settings.

  • HT1443 My Macbook Pro is currently running OS X 10.4.11.  What do I need to do to upgrade to the latest version of Lion?

I am currently running OS X 10.4.11 on my MacBook Pro and would like to upgrade to the latest version of Lion.  When I check for updates, I receive a message that says no updates are available.  When i tried to purchase a Lion upgrade, it says I need to be running OS X10.6 or later.  What do I need to do in order to upgrade to Lion?   Thanks!

Buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store, install it, run Software Update, and if the computer has a Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU, phone the Apple Store and order a download code for Lion.

  • What do I need to return with it besides the modem and AC adapter?

Basically what the title of this post says. I bought my own DOCSIS 3.0 modem and would like to return the one I rented from Comcast. (It will pay for itself in 7 months.) I just want to know which cables and other hardware I need to return with it. I don't know if I'll be able to locate the original receipt. I have the modem, AC power supply, a white ethernet cable, a length of coaxial cable (I think this came with the package because I found an Xfinity branded cable wrap that says "Coaxial" on the tab. But, this may have been used to bundle one of the other cables...), and a two-way splitter. Like I suggested above, The splitter and coaxial cable may be mine outright, I just don't remember. So... What all do I need to return?

Just return the modem and its power cord/power pack. When they provide Ethernet cables, coax, and splitters, those items become yours.
