What Wlan miniPCI cards can I install on Satellite 1410-604

Hi,
What types of minipci cards i can install into this laptop?
In users manual there is information, that minipci slot in satellite 1410 is compatible to Type III A.
Will this card http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Communication/FAQ_Model.aspx?ClassValue=Communication&ProductID= 985&ProductName=GN-WI01GS work of i insert it?

I have goggled a little bit and found a XG-601 802.11b/g, 54Mbps Mini-PCI Wlan card.
According to the description this card supports a 32-bit, Type III A interface.
Also the Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3A Mini PCI Adapter supports a IIIA interface.
These are one of the first miniPCI Wlan cards which were designed for the Wlan usage and support several Wlan protocols

  • Which Airport card can I install in my iBook?

    Hi.
I have a 12in iBook early 2004 model (1.07 GHz). Now I want to buy and install an Airport card. Can I use an Airport Extreme card on this computer or do I need to get an earlier version of the Airport card? The web site says: 'The AirPort Extreme Card can be installed only in computers that are AirPort Extreme ready. AirPort Extreme Cards cannot be used in AirPort-ready computers with an AirPort Card slot'.
Basically, which airport card is compatible with my iBook? I have not found any info on this web site.
    Thanks,
    Oskar

All iBook G4's (except of course those that come with the wireless interface factory-installed) use the Apple Airport Extreme card.

  • Which WiFi cards can be installed in the X121e (AMD E-350 Version)?

    Hi,
I'm running Linux and the available firmwares for the RealTek rtl8818ce in the X121e with AMD processor is hopeless, so I've though about replacing the card. Now apparently the BIOS has some sort of card-whitelist so the question is with which cards can I replace the RealTek?

To check the compatible wifi cards you would want to check the hardware maintainence manual of your machine.

The pther way which is not recommende is to flash the bios to a unofficial version which would allow any hardware installed in your laptop.

  • Max flash card can be installed in 3620 router?

As far as I know, there are 2 types of Flash memory in 3620. 2 slots for SIMM inside,2 slots for CF card memory on Front panel.
SIMM sticks can be used in both 2600series and 3600series with a max single bank capacity of 16MB.(MEM3600-32FS doesn't work on 3620).
So that's SIMM DRAM sticks have different kinds, those for 2500 can't be used on 2600 or 3600.
Correct me if I am wrong.
What about CF card? Are they all the same except capacity, which means I can get a CF card can be used on any router with PC slot?
Is there also a max capacity limitation?
    on http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/access/3600/hardware/notes/PCMCIA.html,it mentioned MEM3600-4FC=, MEM3600-8FC=, MEM3600-16FC=, MEM3600-20FC=
    my question are
1.is there a specific kind of CF card for 3600 series or I can use any CF card for Cisco equipment(so I don't need to worry about MEM3600)?
    2.Does 3600(to be specific,3620) support CF card over 20MB?
I've never used CF Flash memory in Cisco routers before so I've no idea whether Im getting the right thing.
I've used CF micro hard-drive(4GB or 8GB) before,so what's the difference between the CF cards for regular use(like portable storage or camera) and the Cisco CF memory card.Obviously they have different slots(regular CF is way bigger),why the memory is still called CF and what's the connection with PCMCIA?Is it the same slot as those in laptops?
I guess CF is a storage or flash memory type, and PCMCIA(PC) is the slot standard. Then what's the slot of regular CF storage card?
I read a bunch of documents about these stuff and get really confused.
    Thanks.

2 slots for CF card memory on Front panelErrrr ... 3600 routers do NOT use Compact Flash (CF).  This particular model uses PCMCIA Flash memory cards.  CF was used starting from the 3700 and 2690.
Correct me if I am wrong. You are correct.  Parts exclusive to the 3600 can't be used anywhere else.
What about CF card? Are they all the same except capacity, which means I can get a CF card can be used on any router with PC slot? For the 3700 and 2691 the max size of the CF is 1Gb, 2Gb for  ISR G1 and 8 Gb for ISR G2.
I've used CF micro hard-drive(4GB or 8GB) before,so what's the difference between the CF cards for regular use(like portable storage or camera) and the Cisco CF memory card.
3620/3640/3660 routers use PCMCIA Flash cards (Type II).  Later generations use COMPACT Flash (CF) cards.

  • G4 quicksilver dual 1ghz: how many video cards can i install?

i've kept this great old machine on the shelf, now i've found a use for it!  i've been programming video installations for theatre using isadora (on more modern machines) and would love to utilize my old G4.  currently installed is the stock card with a VGA and an ADC output, and i've run 2 monitors off it in the past.  i'd like to run my ADC powered 17" studio display (control screen) plus at least 2,3 or more video projectors, so i'd like to install an additional video card(s).  ideally VGA or DVI, but s-video or even component could work- it doesn't need to be high definition. can this machine handle it, and if so, recommendations for a good card, or multiple cards?  i have several open slots, how many is feasable to stack in there?
    thanks y'all!

Remember that video cards use the most power of any PCI cards. There is usually a finite limit to how much power the computer's PCI bus can provide.
I don't know the limimts on the QS, but the old Beige G3s has a limit of 45W total across three slots--I doubt it's a lot more on yours.  The assumption back then was that most PCI vidcards then drew 25W. Unlike newer cards that have power "taps" top allow direct connection to the power supply, older PCI vidcards seldom had this convenience. I have a radeon 9200 and it does not.
The 9200 had a lot of VRAM but did not support Apple's Quartz Extreme video technology. Although great for 3D stuff, its 2D performance in OSX was dismal, with scrolling and dragging being choppy. You do not want that card as you primary video source on a computer with AGP graphics. There was a hack to get around the QE issue but it seldom worked without issue if you had more that one PCI card of any kind.

  • What version of windows can i install?

i am looking to install windows on my mac, however i only have 80GB left on my hard drive, i am aware that vista will have no problems installing but this uses 20GB minimum, and i believe XP only uses 5GB minimum of hard drive. the trouble i am having is what XP can i use? i see them listed as OEM's, and service pack 1,2 or 3. I have been told not to use an OEM. any help is much appreciated.

    Hi,
you need "An authentic, 32-bit Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition or Professional with Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3 disc" http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1899
OEm discs usually work fine unless you get a manufacturer-branded one from Dell, HP, Compaq or the like, as these usually only works on the computer they originally were sold with.
"An upgraded version of Microsoft Windows XP cannot be used because you are required to validate your copy of Windows by inserting an original Windows CD, but there is no way to eject the first disc until after Windows installation is complete and the Boot Camp drivers from the Mac OS X 10.6 DVD are installed."
    Hope it helps

  • Broken sound card, Can i install a pci card and get sound

I fried my internal sound card plugging up my mixer through my headphone jack. I have a mirror door, dual 1 ghz prossesors. Can i just install a m-audio pci card and get my sound back. i hope so. thanks.

The answer is yes, though there seems to be very few Mac compatible sound cards. This is probably because Macs always came with sound built in. The exceptions are the Xserve which have no sound section. I have a dual 1.33GHz G4 Xserve that I have fitted with a M-Audio Audiophile 192 PCI card. This works well but is expensive new (I got mine used). My only complaint (as a general purpose sound card) you have to use the M-Audio app to change the volume - the normal volume controls don't work.
MUCH cheaper is the USB sound card option. I also have a Griffin iMic on my work Mac and this is plugged into my keyboard usb slot. That means I can conveniently plug my headphones in with just a short cord. Works great, sounds great, and works with the standard volume controls.

  • How much and what kind of memory can I install to upgrade my G72-b57cl notebook?

I have installed what I thought was the recommended memory for my G72-b57cl notebook, but I cannot get windows to boot or recover after installing it. The BIOS recognizes the memory and a memory check also recognizes it, but windows 7 64-bit will not operate. Is it the memory or windows?

    Hi:
Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.
    http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02623152.pdf
Memory upgrade info can be found in chapter 1 on page 2.
    Max is 2 x 4 GB (8 GB) of PC3-1333 memory.
You have to pay particular attention to the fact that HP notebooks need PC3-10600 memory.
There are some memory modules out there which are PC3-10660 or PC3-10666.
The above 2 variations will normally give the user problems.

  • What do when you can't install on an E7

I recently noticed that my WhatsApp was outdated and did not work and tried to reinstall it only to get "unable to install" from my phone. So I tried to remove it and install it from ovi store agian but to the same result.
Then I opened my nokia suite on my computer and tried from there to no success. But then I noticed that the suite did not want to sync up with the phone. So i updated the suite and when I try to access the apps it says "the contents of the currently selected phone model cannot be shown by this application".
I also noticed that in ovi store it suggests that i update some games that i have removed.
    what should I do?

  • What DS and version can I install on my local WinXP box ?

I've been told any of the DSEE v6.x versions would be difficult to get installed and configured.
I was also told DS 5.2 as part of ES was the reccommended version.
I may have backup historical downloads, but for other readers, where to DL?
Anyone have thoughts, experience, tips, suggestions ?
    TIA

My opinion (not official) is that 6.x is actually easier to install (don't have to answer a million questions) and almost never have to use the console.
Try downloading it from here. Since you're starting a new install I'd suggest going with 6.3.

i have the early 2011 macbook pro 13" that came with the 2,3ghz i5 and 4 gb of ram, and i wanted to upgrade the memory, i know that i can put in up to 16 gb of ram and that it cant be any faster than 1333mhz,, but does it matter if i put in PC3-10600 (DDR3-1333) , PC3-10660 (DDR3-1333mhz) or PC3-10666 (DDR3-1333)
