What works best on htc wildfire s?

I want to know the best browser to run my "HTC wildfire s" on

You would be better off asking other Wildfire S users. Firefox cannot run on the phone because it has a slow processor.

  • What works best with which?

    Hi All.
I have a problem with Compressor and ive been scouring the many many posts on failure to batch and failure to open. I have done all of the reinstalls except my OS, which im reluctant to do. What seems to work for other eludes me still. I wonder still if this spec has something missing as i dont have any idea what works best. I have the ProApps update so my thinking is this should all be current and workable.
At the moment compressor does not repsond to clicking in the dock or the finder.
    FCP 5.0.4
    Qmaster 2.3
    OS 10.3.9
    Compressor 2.3
    Any ideas?

    Hi Karsten et al.
I have a problem that I am desperate for any kind of feedback from. Can you help?
Last week I bought a Sony DCR-SR90 HDD camcorder, thinking it would be simple to pull files from this hard drive camcorder straight into iMovie.
However, there is only a USB connection, and the bundled software is for PCs only. I had to download an MPEG2 program from Apple (£14.99) just to be able to import the files and now it does so, but without sound. Moreover, the quality of the image is awful in the iMovie viewing window.
I have a feeling that this Sony camcorder, though quite new, is not compatible with an Apple Powerbook and/or iMovie. This is disastrous as it cost £850 and I need it for my own wedding in September.
My question is: is it worth taking this machine back to Jessops and getting a Mini-DV camcorder that is definitely compatible with Apple/iMovie, or is there a way to get this funky Sony camcorder to sync/work with a Mac?
Second: if I exchange it for a different camcorder, which one should I get guys???!!! (it's vital that it works with iMovie as I like to make decent edited home movies with music, effects etc).
    Can you help???

  • Web export settings from FCXpress? What works best?

Hey there all who are willing to help!
I am making a video blog for my family through the holidays and am shooting the videos with iMovie '06's iSight video capture. Doing this, I have found, saves the video as .mov files which I then import into FCXpress and begin editing. I am only limiting the videos to a 4 min limit but they tend to come out either too big a file size (I'm shooting for 13MB tops) or too choppy for my satisfaction no matter what setting I use. I have settled for the preset Broadband- Medium but have been unhappy with the 320x240 resolution. I prefer a bigger res but every time I adjust it the file size, of course, hops up numerically too.
I understand iSight's .mov files are only containers for the actual codec: Apple Photo - JPEG, in a 640x480 res.
What have you used? What works best?
-How do movie companies make 2-minute trailers in AMAZING quality? H.264? What else?

One reason professional companies produce high quality video is because they don't shoot it with an iSight camera.
Another is that they don't limit the size to 320x240.
Broadband High is the minimum quality you should be using, and if you want reasonable results you will have to accept larger file sizes.

  • Setting up workspace? What works best?

What are some of the best ways to setup your workspace, and what makes for a good workspace in Logic? If possible please include a screen capture.

    Hi GMGNewton,
I too dabble in producing my own dance tracks and I've found that once you become familiar with logics overview it's best to create a custom template of your set up as I end up going through the same sort of sequence most times which is time consuming starting from scratch.
I tend to work with a lot of software instruments when writing rather than audio within logic so my template just now for starting off a project consists of:
1 x Ultrabeat Stereo Track (With custom samples)
4 x EXS24 Track (Percussion, Piano, Strings, Pads)
    3 x ES1 Track (Bass & 2 Spare)
    2 x ES2 Track (Synth Lead & 1 Spare)
4 x Audio Track (Vocals, Electric Guitar, Acoustic Guitar, 1 x Spare)
I only have the Ultrabeat track for laying down basic drum sequences then I will later put each drum sound onto separate tracks, usually as audio files (especially the kick).
The Electric Guitar track has the Guitar Amp plugin inserted as although I have my own amp to record from via a mic, it's not that great so I favour the logic plug for this.
That's pretty much the track count I start off with and gradually build a session up from there, which could add another 10 - 20 tracks, maybe even more.
I only have an imac as my monitor so I use screen shots for changing views.
    1. Arrange
    2. Mixer
    3. Close up of Arrange
I also colour my tracks so I can visually know whats going on:
    Drums/Percussion - Red
    Bass - Purple
    Keys - Brown
    Strings - Yellow
    Synths - Green
Vocals - Male Blue, Female Pink
Guitar - Depends what track is
    Hope this helps

  • From huge QT to data DVD- what works best

The family history is at stake. And my sanity. The entire family home movie/video collection got put on a portable hard drive. Big QT files, 20-30GB. My job: burn them onto data DVDs so a couple of us can edit sections. Not QT movies, data. What is the most efficient way to do this? I import a big file. Create a bunch of 10 minute sequences. Export as standalone QT movies. Each one takes over two hours. What? Correct me if I am wrong but if I had captured this video instead of importing, I could just burn the capture scratch files. Importing is different, there is no capture scratch folder? Sorry, this don’t add up. Someone smarter than me must have figured this out. I’d appreciate knowing how you would do it cause I am lost. Thanks.

Hello Distal -- sorry if I am a bit confused by what you wrote, but if you are just trying to get the files to other folks so you can edit different parts, you can either:
    1) Just give the portable hard disk to the other guys to copy the files onto their Macs, and give the disk back to you
    2) Burn "Spanned DVDs" using something like Toast Titanium (use Mac-only format to enable disc spanning) in lieu of giving the hard disk to other people; this may take 10 DVDs (for up to 47 GB approx.)
(The reason I am confused is because it seems as if your data is ALREADY on your hard disk, irrespective of whether or not you need to grab files from some capture/scratch folder, etc.).

  • MICR character spacing, what works best?

    We're having issues with MICR spacing on our XML publisher based cheques in Oracle 11i. Basically our spacing changes from our desktop to our linux server so the MICR positioning is imprecise when it gets converted to PDF. So I'd love to know what other people are doing regarding MICR positioning. Are you;
    - Making it one bring string in a cell?
    - Breaking it up into it's components in different cells, i.e. Serial Number, Transit Number, Account Number etc
    - Making up a table with cells for each single digit of the MICR String?
To give you some more details, the template is in RTF format.
    I'd appreciate your ideas.
    Cheers

The whole reason for using a relative unit, like ems, for tracking and kerning is it adjusts as you change the size of the type to maintain the specified spacing. If you switch to an absolute unit and adjust the type size your glyphs will either drift apart or pile up on each other.
And I don't think anyone here can even begin to tell you how you might accomplish such a feat in your custom GUI.

  • External drives... whats the best for video.... ?

    Hi everyone,
I'm trying to figure out what the best bang for the buck is in regards to external drives, and what works best for video.
I have considered the LaCie enclosures, I have also considered buying a 500 GB SATA to replace the 200 GB second drive I have inside the G5. The issue than is what enclosure works the best with a MAC and is 1394 and will the firm ware support huge video files, for render or exporting?
Can anyone give some advice based on what they have learned through past experience.
    Thanks

I've been using LaCie FW (800 & 400) drives for about three years now with only one problem - One of the first drives I bought (I think it was a 120 GB) fried itself a few months ago. I currently have 80GB, 120 GB, 400GB and 500 GB drives, all working fine, never have dropped frames. The LaCie drives are pretty tough too, as I've sent most of them back and forth across the country at least a few times with no problems.
However, be careful if you update the firmware for them - make sure the drive is clean as the firmware update can cause corruption of data on the drive (I found that out the hard way!). Also keep in mind that they do put off a fair amount of heat (especially the big ones) so I wouldn't consider stacking them on top of each other horizontally.

  • Whats the best way to upgrade from 4.5.0131 to new sprint +s version 4.5.0175

Should I upgrade directly frm the BlackBerry curve 8330 browser or do it via desktop manager on PC ? Pls let me know asap. Thanks!!

    Hi There!
"Best" is so subjective, don't you think? Rather, it's a set of trade-offs that result in your own personal preference. For instance, via DTM, you can (and should, IMO) take a full manual backup before you do any updates. Also via DTM, you can install your carriers device OS package which will keep DTM working well with your device and your carrier...but you might have to remove and install a new package when your carrier releases another update. OTA updates don't have the ability for the robust backup of DTM, but are more convenient for those who cannot tether easily. So, best becomes what works best in your unique world. For me, DTM only -- backup/restore is critical to me, so that trumps all. But that's just me.
    Cheers!

i have question about hooking up an external hdd to a time capsule and still have my printer hooked up as well. Anyone got any tips for me, how to do it and what brand of harddrive that will work best for me 1 or 2 TB

You just need a powered hub.. if you already use one then fine.
Plug in just about any external hard disk will work fine. Format has to be readable by the TC.. ie fat32.. or much better HFS+.. plug it into a Mac to prepare the drive.
Pick whatever size suits.. nowadays 2TB are most economical.
WD, Seagate have goobled up all the minor players.. so pick one.
Whatever suits your budget and asthetics.
NOTE.. The USB on the TC is fine for printers.. IMHO it is the wrong way to go with USB disks.. use the internal disk of the TC.. USB is less than half the native speed plugged into a Mac.. TC to USB is slow.. far slower than internal drive.. or using external drive as external.

  • One headphone does not work or works 50% of the time.  What is best way to resolve?

one headphone does not work or works 50% of the time.  What is best way to resolve?

First of all, I'd recomend resetting the iPod. Do this by pressing the 'Menu' and 'Center" buttons for 10 seconds or until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work, then it sounds like a hardware fault.
To identify the issue, if you have one, try plugging the iPod into a speaker through the dock. If this works, then the issue is with the headphone jack. If not then the logic board is dead.  If the iPod is less than a year old, then it can be repaired by Apple for free. Just book an appointment for the Genius bar.
If not then, you could see about sending it to an iPod Repair Company, such as my own. A replacement headphone jack would cost £30.00 in the UK, including next day delivery. Other companies you could try would beUKiPodRepairs, but we guarantee to beat any quote that you get.
    Hope that this helps,

  • Just bought a Macbook Air.  I does not appear to be compatible with my LCD projector.  What LCD projectors work best with MacBook Air?

My Cannon LCD LV-7210 projector does not recognize my Macbook Air nor does my Macbook Air recognize it is attached to an LCD projector.  Yes, I do have the proper adapter.
What LCD projectors work best with Macbook Air?  Does this LCD projector have auto-detect for computer?
    Thanks!

I've just purchased a *27in (aluminium case) LCD Cinema Display* and am using it with my MacBook Pro, linked by the supplied three-jack cable (Mini DVI display jack).
The 27" display uses Mini DisplayPort, not Mini DVI.
But I also have *a white-cased MacBook (purchased in 2008) which has an older type of display socket*, certainly not compatible with the Mini DVI type.
The early Mac Book uses Mini DVI.
    1. Is there a cable or adaptor available to link my older MacBook to the Cinema Display? Nothing in the online store looks 'right'
No. Mini DVI is single-link, and does not support the resolution needed for the 27" display.

  • What program works best in cleaning the junk file out of my mac?

What program works best in cleaning, and improving the speed of my mac.  It's about four years old now, any suggestions are appreciated as I am new to this.

Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For disk repairs use Disk Utility.  For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. Drive Genius provides additional tools not found in Disk Warrior.  Versions 1.5.1 and later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    SuperDuper!
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Additional suggestions will be found in Mac Maintenance Quick Assist.
Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity as free space.

  • What monitor best works with the MAC Pro

I'm thinking of buying a MAC PRO. What Monitor best works with a MAC Pro?

Whatever Monitor you like, exclusively. There are adapters available for everything.
Analog VGA is not a good idea. It's a Digital world. But it can be done if you want.
A TV set is not a Monitor. TV sets are for moving pictures, and may do badly with stable pictures, fine lines, parallel lines, smooth-edged text, and adjacent patches of bright colors.
Wider than 1920 needs special attention to details.
