What would Apple do about these problems with my macbook?
I have the following problems with my macbook (only problem is i dont have a receipt because it was a gift but it is registered with a year left) and i was wonder what would apple do about them?
Slight blue discoloring around the edges of the macbook and around the mousepad/mouse button
Gets very hot
"Mooing" noise
Lcd bezel is not lined up correctly
Those are the top 4 i could think of, what do you all think? thanks!
They wont do anything about the heat as that is something that happens to all macbooks.
They might switch your fan out for a different model to eliminate the moo and they'll probably replace your discoloured plastic. If you mention the lcd bezel they would probably do that when they fix the other issues, if you dont tell them its a problem they might not do anything to it.
I wouldnt worry too much about not having a receipt. i should think an official apple store would take it in, even if they just sent it off to a repair center. Theres no way they can argue that its out of warranty considering the macbook hasnt been out anywhere near a year.

What is Apple doing about the "Unable to download" problems?
So, forgive me if these questions have been asked before. But I am new to Apple, just bought an iPhone about 2 months ago. I love my iPhone, but once you start getting into the world of the App store is where the problems seem to start flooding in. Specifically with the downloading and updating portion. Downloading is sometimes a breeze and sometimes a pain as is updating. Some days I have no problems downloading or updating apps. Other days I get error messages such as "unable to download" with an option of "done" or "retry."
The "done" option is worthless because if you select it, the app is still unselectable and will stay that way for days and the only way around it is to delete the app and reinstall if you can even reinstall it without having problems.
The "retry" option is also worthless because as soon as you select that option, not even a second later will the message "unable to download" pop up again.
Some days I get the error message that says something along the lines of unable to download without a wifi connection. That confuses me because there are plenty of times when I have downloaded apps without a wifi connection. So why is it that sometimes I need a wifi connection and other times I dont need it. Second, I am connected to a wifi connection right now and my app still wont update.
I dont know about you, but I sure as **** dont like seeing that red number 1 on my app store every day, but with the problems of updating apps sometimes im forced to just stare at it every time I unlock my phone.
So what is Apple doing about these problems?? Because I've seen alot of threads on this discussion board but they all seem to have the same answers, "turn off the phone then turn it back on" "download over a wifi connection" "delete the app and re install"Have you called Apple tech support or visited an Apple Store to ask for assistance with the problem? If not, then you really haven't even given Apple the opportunity to assist you with this problem. This is not happening to every iPod touch by any means, so it's most likely an issue with your particular unit. Try the usual steps: restart, reset, restore.

A sea of problems with my MacBook
I have a week 22 MacBook that I have recieved (3rd one traded with Apple Store, other 2 had problems) that has been having many problems.
-Yesterday I was on iChat, and all of a sudden I see the message "You are currently in active chats. Are you sure you want to quit?" but I was typing a message and only saw it for a split second before i hit enter, then the computer shut off? Is this random shut down?
-Processor Whine
-MagSafe Whine
-This is the order of affects when I turn on my computer: hit power button, hear a high pitched click like the fan is starting to turn? Then superdrive, then high pitched click again, then apple startup chime, then i can hear the fan clicking. I have to hit the computer a couple of times to get that noise to stop.
-Click when I open the MacBook. Plastic rubbing on each other I think.
-If I push on the near bottom right side of the black screen casing, I can hear it click.
-I've had those weird rainbow lines like the logic board is failing, but resetting the PRAM fixed this. This has happened twice.
-1 Kernel Panic
What would Apple do about this? Also, I've heard some people have had their computers upgraded by Apple (white to black MacBook, etc). What would happen?

1) I wouldn't call that a random shutdown yet unless it keeps doing it. That sounds like something went wrong software wise and made the computer turn off.
2) The new Intel CPUs wine. I think that is something that you are going to have to get used to. My Pentium M even wines.
3)That you might want to call AppleCare about. My freinds MacBook had that and they said that the power adapter/MagSafe should not make any noise.
4)That sounds like something is wrong with your fan. I would again call AppleCare about this or stop by an Apple Store.
5)That sounds like something is wrong with the hinge, maybe it is too tight? Again, call AppleCare or go see a Genius.
6)A lot of machines are having problems with the screen bezel. Most of the repairs getting done right now, also have the bezel replaced even if that was not requested. Call AppleCare or got see a Genius.
7)Once you start up, change the resolution in System Prefs., restart, and then change it back to normal. That should fix this issue.
8)My friends MacBook had Kernel Panic problems when it would get too hot. If your fan isn't working correctly, then that could cause the computer to overheat and KP.
I think that Apple would probably just have you send it in for repair. If it is inside the 14 day return policy, or within at least a month of when you traded in the last one, go get it replaced. It seems like you arn't having very good luck with MacBooks, maybe you will be lucky if you get another replacement. I doubt they would upgarde you, but maybe if you called Apple Customer Service then they would since this is your 4th MacBook.

Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse problems with new macbook pro.
Got a Logitech V470 bluetooth mouse to use with my recent 2011 macbook pro running 10.6.7. There appear to be several problems with this combination.
1. If the mouse is not moved for a few seconds and I move it, the pointer does not respond immediately, and when it does, the pointer motion stutters and jerks across the screen for a few seconds before it starts moving smoothly. I don't see any spike in CPU usage when this happens.
2. When I shutdown/reboot or sometimes even put the macbook pro to sleep and wake it up, the machine fails to communicate with the mouse, nothing happens even if I reset/restart the mouse or click, scroll or move it around. The only fix is to go to the bluetooth settings and set it up as a new device.
I suspected a hardware problem on either the mouse or the mac, but (a) the mouse works perfectly fine on an older Sony Vaio laptop and (b) the apple wireless keyboard works pretty fine with none of these problems with my macbook. Would getting an apple magic mouse magically solve this problem?
Has anyone else faced this situation, and could it be fixed?Any issues you are having with a "Logitech" product, should be dealt with their tech/customer support department.

i had a problem with my macbook pro: on tuesday 16th (agoust, 2011) I went to a friend's house and show her some document i had in my computer, then i turned off my mac and it asked me: "there are some actualizations available, do you want to update before turn off?" i clicked on yes, waited for update and then the macbook turned off. When I got back home, I tried to turn it on again.... but nothing: it didn't sound baaaammmmm as allways, it didn't reacted. I tried again, but useless.
The next day i went to one of these "authorized management centers", but they coudn't say anything or do anything about it. First they told me the problem was the battery, then the hard disk, then the video card... but don't. I left my mac there by two weeks, hoping they could help me, but they didn't. So I picked it up and go to other place.
The rare thing is that i have just two years with my mac, and i didn't do anything stupid on it (didn't fall, get wet, microwave, hot, shocked, hit or anything) It just stopped working. Two times it turned on. But if not, it's the same story:
When i pushed the button to turn on, sounds like baaaaaammmm, but then again, and again, and again, and the screen doesn't get blue or anything, it appears a foder with a "?" and then the computer turns off...
Im wondering if this is a problem on this computers, because some of my friends told me things much like that that happened with their macbooks.

I have the problem with my iPhone and my friends have this problem too.
My iPhone have the problem about calling and answer the call. When I use my iPhone to call I can't hear anything from my iPhone but the person that I call can answer it but when answer both of us can't hear anything and when I put my iPhone to my face the screen is still on and when I quit the phone application and open it again it will automatic call my recent call. And when my friends call me my iPhone didn't show anything even the missed call I'm only know that I missed the call from messages from carrier. Please check these problem I restored my iPhone for 4 time now in this week. I lived in Hatyai, Songkhla,Thailand and many people in my city have this problem.

The solution is to restart, reset, and restore as new which is in the manual after that get it replaced for hard ware failure. if your within your one year warranty its replaced if it is out of the warranty then it is 199$

If you're referring to the DNS Changer Trojan, it's highly unlikely you're affected. The actual distribution of the trojan was stopped several years ago and the perpertrators jailed.
The FBI has been maintaining the servers used by the trojan for the last 5 years in order to give affected systems time to be purged. They will finally shut them down on Monday.
Ensure that your router and the Mac's network settings are set for the DNS addresses of your ISP, or if you're not sure what they should be, change them to Open DNS using the IP addresses;

I am very happy to report that my server connection tech, which I called via landline, informed me to : 1. Open Tools 2. Scan down to Clear Recent History 3. Delete All. That was it! Unbelievable! Six hours of searching through the Windows catagories. I checked the results on an internet site, and viola! It was gone! Mozilla Firefox seems to remember the usernames and passwords irregardless of the option window that asks if you if want it to remember the user and password. I finally got in touch with my friend and he said he did not answer yes to the window, even though he was aware of it. No damage. I surely do appreciate everyones' concern in this, now what seems to be, a very simple solution. Cudos to Firefox! Thank-you! P.S. I now have to enter my information at the beginning of any password protected sites...no harm done! My friend is now condemned to the 'user account' site! lol...

What is Apple doing about Yahoo Email not working?
It's been 2 weeks. What is Apple doing about the clear fact that Yahoo email is not working? It's becoming unacceptable.
As a Blackberry convert, I was sold when Steve J said that Yahoo would "push" like a Blackberry for free. It does not work. I have an older yahoo account and it still does not send email from the iphone (trying the spam thingy doesn't even work with my yahoo). Incoming emails are intermittent.
Has anyone received information that attests to the fact that Apple is at least aware and addressing the problem?
Thanks!Free. I have an older yahoo account (few years old) and it syncs imap just fine and I receive emails fine but not always at push speed. I also cannot send an email from my yahoo on my iphone. It looks like it sends it by the bar and the sounds but nothing in the sent box nor nothing received on the other end. I tried making a new yahoo id to try it and it worked for a while and now that one wont send either. The forums have multiple folks with the same issue. One resolution was sending an email from the yahoo web interface because it has you fill out a "captchca" spam thing and then seems to work again. On my yahoo id, I never even get the captchca. VERY FRUSTRATING. I want this to work but it doesn't. I've resorted to GMail only but it's not what's advertised and being used to the Blackberry this is a dealbreaker. I just want to know that Apple/Yahoo is aware of the issue and that it will be fixed.

I am getting a message "can't open because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." What do I do about these programs?
In defense of the original poster, I just went through the Lion page (http://www.apple.com/macosx/) and the sub-pages linked on the top (including the 250 new features) and nowhere does it say anything about dropping Rosetta/PowerPC compatibility. A simple compatibility line in the tech specs page could help these kinds of threads. Nevertheless, the argument that Apple should have made this change more prominent is quite valid IMO.
Remember that Apple prides itself on being simple so don't expect everyone to be as up to date on compatibility issues as you. With the big uptake of new users in the last couple of years, these kind of questions should be expected, especially since most users are coming from Windows where compatibility is king (I can run apps from 10+ years ago with almost no issues).
Complicating the issue further is that there is no obvious way to see which older applications are PPC and which are not (who knew Warcraft 3 was PPC and not universal??).
A simple solution could be for Apple to provide copy of Rosetta that users can purchase if they want compatibility. Who knows, maybe such a solution is going to come from a third party -

The iPhone has a hardware problem - with the battery or something else.
The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If purchased new in October of 2012, it remains under warranty. Call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby. -
Iphone 6 screen scratches very easily, just by normal use. Anyone else? What is Apple doing about it! It shouldn't be like that, it is way more fragile than Iphone 5 and 5S screeens!

have a problem with my MacBook Pro.5,3 and monitor. Intermittently, the desk top screen becomes broken up into vertical sections, which appear in the wrong order, creating a haphazard picture.
The Apple icon, usually at top left corner, appears in top right corner in a strip including all that left hand. When the computer is restarted, the screen goes back to normal. But I have to move the mouse to the far left of the screen and then up until it reappears on the far right hand side of the screen so that I can hit shut down button.
It seems to happen randomly though always on desk top and sometimes when I move mouse and computer switches on from rest mode. My large flat screen is relatively new.
The video card on this computer, which is approximately two years old, is Nvidia FeForce 9400M.
Any help would be welcome as my usual source of assistance is not available and I am not well versed in workings of the Mac although I have used one for many years.That sounds like a Hardware problem.
You may be able to confirm that with Apple Hardware Test, or make an appointmenst for a free Genius Bar evaluation.
