What you waiting for a more stable Windows 64 bits version (aurora or beta)?

I use Firefox nightly 64bits because it run faster than 32 bits versions and all my plugin work well with it but each time firefox 64 bits become mature and the version change to "aurora", you don't release a "aurora" 64 bits version or any more stable versions and all return to point zero. All platforms have a 64bits version but not Windows (Windows is 64 bits since 2004). What you waiting for?

Well the old VPN Client was the ONLY IPsec remote access VPN client that Cisco offered. So they wouldn't need to say "we recommend this one vs. that one" would they?
Any migration needs to take into account new features and potential issues with the new client software. So you would need to confirm your VPN head end type, version, licensing, etc. Decide whether you want to use IKEv2 or sSL transport. Decide how you want to deploy the client software. Decide whether you want to make any changes to the features deployed given the expanded range of capabilities offered by AnyConnect, etc.

i'm broke at the moment, but in all fairness, I've got plenty of stuff to keep me busy as it is on my PS3 (as well as my WiiU, Amiga, Spectrum, 3DS, PC and Atarti2600) so I have no real need to upgrade. I am also very angry and unforgiving with Sony for all the content removal on both my PS3 and SmartTV (which has lost Facebook, Midnight Pulp, Sony Entertainment TV, Crackle, Viewster and a whole host of other apps they decided they didn't want to run anymore.) As well as loads of things on the TV that just dont work properly that they cant be bothered to fix, incluing something that casues Youtube to crash all the time. The loss of PSHome was the final straw for me with Sony. Contrary to what a lot of people like to think it was very busy, and for me it was quite important, due to health issues I am fairly housebound, and it was a very good way for me to socialize.I just don't trust Sony anymore to make something that won't be downgraded in the near future. If Morpheus is great then I might be tempted to PS4 in time, but with rumors starting to emerge that the XboXone might support the Oculus, Sony have even lost the VR edge. Just wait and see for now.

Yes this might be the stupidest question ever, but leave it to Apple to make the simplest thing hard.
In EVERY version of Itunes, up until 11, you used to be able to type an artists name, song name, or album into the search field and it would narrow it down so that you can see what you are looking for (in the list below). Now, Itunes tells you that you have music by said artist, yet doesn't list them whatsoever. Furthermore, when you click on the results it doesn't list them for you either.
I'm sure it is some weird setting, but cannot for the life of me find. I cannot name one application that doesn't show a list when you type in the search field. Augh!

Makefile for building 32 and 64 bit versions of a driver/app

Does anyone have good example Makefile that can build both a 32bit and 64bit version on device driver and userspace programs? I'm using gcc and gmake to build a streams module and some user space utilities for both 32 and 64 bit x86 and Sparc architectures. I currently have a bunch of taget specific make files, but I know there must be a better more elegant way of doing this. Ideally I would like to build both the 32 and 64 bit versions for the running architecture with the same make command. I don't need to cross compile (ie. build sparc on x86 ).

Yes, with Creative Cloud you will have both 32 and 64 bit versions installed. 32 bit is useful in cases when you have a plugin that only supports 32 bit, not 64 bit.

I wonder do you guys feel the same. I must wait very long times for some operations on my system.
1) opening Firefox for a first time
2) starting xfce4
3) opening menu in xfce4 after some change (then it opens immediately)
4) running pacman
5) checking disk usage in ${HOME} (du|sort -nr|less)
6) indexing incomplete movie (mplayer -idx) to preview it

i totally agree. the reason they added this stupid behaviour to KDE was because everybody said KDE was slow to start compared to Gnome and XP. but those two only SEEM to start faster, tough, on linux you can already start working when the desktop shows, which you can't on windows.
lets hope KDE 4 is so much faster we won't notice this annoying thing anymore ;-)

With Windows 10 we will be able to run Metro apps in windowed mode on the desktop.
Now for those who tried the Windows 10 Technical Preview, I had a few questions to start a discussion.
Will this change the way you think about Metro apps?
Will you use Metro apps more? If yes, which ones would you use?
Do you think they can replace desktop apps in Windows 10?
To start, I never used Metro apps really besides running them in splitscreen mode with my desktop apps in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. I use mostly PDF Reader, Facebook and the Mail app. The Mail app is really my favorite app. Because you can sync all your accounts in one mail program. Plus it's tablet-friendly. I have currently 3 mail accounts synced with Mail (Metro app).
Now with Windows 10 I will finally be able to open Metro apps at any given time without them getting in the way of all other apps that are running.
Something else why I prefer Metro apps is that we finally have a design which we have to follow or aim for. Something I hate is that every app tries to look unique. Some look very stylish, others look very primitive. But with Metro apps there is a standard where every app looks roughly the same but may differ in functionality. Metro apps work on both tablets and desktops. While desktop apps are not guaranteed to be tablet-friendly with their tiny controls.

I mainly exist in a "classic" Desktop (Win32) Windows world, so my use of Modern Windows apps is fairly limited.
That said, with the ability to run Modern Windows apps in a windowed (e.g., non-full-screen) mode and, of course, the continued release of additional apps, I expect to be running more of them over time.

Using Analog 2 or "What You Hear" for stereo recording

I'm recording sound bites from tv shows and movies to my Audigy 2 Platinum by using the front-panel's Analog 2 by plugging in the left and right channels for the audio.
When I record directly from Anolog 2, the sound is real low, but If I record from the "What you hear" option, it comes out a lot louder.
Is there any difference in how the audio is being formatted during it's recording by weather or not if I use Analog 2 or "What you hear"? Like in surround sound? Will I get surround sound quality from either Analog 2 or "What you hear"?

This low signal can be caused by wrong connection impedance or voltage, BUT also
Have you already tried by setting
- Source level to max (eg. Analog 2 in this case) on Surround Mixer and checked it equals on Windows Mixer (Control Panel_Sounds and Multimedia_Audio tab: Volume on both Play)
- Rec level too (on both as above /Rec)
I think you can't record surround directly using 1 stereo microphone/source.

Ask your college. Most likely the same settings as you have set in Outlook.

How many days have you waited for approval?

I have waited for 10 days. Still "Not on 32 stores" status for all the books I uploaded.

OK, I finally have 1 book - out of 8 submitted approved. So I finally have answers to my questions - hope it help others too!

- in this case, about 11 days. Would say 2 weeks is a good bet.
Does the status ever changed to say "Under Review"?
- no. It just turned the red ligh to green, and show "On 32 stores".
Will you received an email when your book get approved?
- no.
Now I still looking for the answer of: can the book get updated once approved? I just submitted a major revision (and grow the book from 70+ pages to 100+ pages) and see whether this will get updated. It goes through fine in iTunes Producer.

Download or continue with the 32 bit version of Firefox to run on your 64 bit Windows 7 system.
The 64 bit Firefox is just for testing Firefox, you would not be able to use the plug-ins you normally use as they are not available.

Launch button for PS CC runs 32-bit version of program, not 64-bit version

I'm starting to get reports from people that after initially installing PS CC that the launch button created during installation launches the 32-bit version of PS CC instead of the 64-bit version.
To check which version you're running, click Help>About Photoshop... on the menu bar.
The version that shows up should have "x64" at the end for the 64-bit version of the program.
If the version is "x32", you can get a launch button for the 64-bit version inside the application folder--C:/Program Files/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC (64-bit).
So far this appears to be an issue just with Windows computers.

It is not an issue, By default on a 64 bit Win machine both PS 32 bit and 64 bit application get installed.
If you want to work with 64 bit application launch Adobe Photoshop CC(64 bit) from Start->Programs, Otherwise for 32 bit Ps Adobe Photoshop CC.
To still verify the launched version, the steps you mentioned would help.

Where can I find stable 64 bit versions of Firefox to download?

The only link I could find for 64 bit was nightly but I don't want that. There is no 64 bit installer on the official page, no 64 bit under betas, and the FTP doesn't even contain any under firefox/releases. Do they even exist or are they only for future releases?
PS - I don't really know where to ask this since there isn't a proper category that I could find for website questions.

The 32-bit builds will work and are actually faster compared to same 64-bit build currently.
The 64-bit Nightly on Windows are are mainly for to test for breakage as it is possible to break the 32-bit win builds without breaking 64-bit win and same goes other way. In the early days long before Firefox 4.0 it was just Linux that got 64-bit builds and they were mainly for breakage.
The 64-bit win builds are still Tier 2 builds which mean if something breaks or a server for it goes down, it does not have the priority to get working right away like the regular Firefox builds which are Tier 1. https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Supported_build_configurations
It looks like the earliest release to have 64-bit on Windows will be Firefox 12.

No keys for SI4 anymore? + 32 Bit version of NW04s?

I´m in the process of setting up a server for trainig purpose, but it looks as if there aren´t license keys available anymore for Netweaver SI4, am I wrong or is there still a way to get a license key for this version?
My second question is if there is a 32 Bit version of NW04s and where I can find it.

There are no new licenses for SI2, but the DB2 version of N4S is also 32-bit, and there are still licenses available. You can order it from the Knowledge Shop.
