Why is apple not providing information on what the problem withe email is and what they are doing to fix, along with a time frame for fixing the problem.

It was because the problem was major. If you do not know tech, you should know that a two day outage usually indicates some type of virus, hack, or a bad software load that they had to unravel. The common way to solve that is to rebuild servers and put back into service. That takes time.
Apple did not want to admit this problem. My guess at this stange was that they loaded new software that might be associated with the new IOS and it crashed. To reveal this would be to cast into doubt their future revenue.
Either way. Run do not walk away from Icloud products and services. Apple has demonstrated they can not be a business partner.

Here are some general tips to keep your Mac's hard drive trim and slim as possible
You should never, EVER let a computer hard drive get completely full, EVER!
With Macs and OS X, you shouldn't let the hard drive get below 15 GBs or less of free data space.
If it does, it's time for some hard drive housecleaning.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your Mac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto or Aperture, both have its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you store images in other locations other than iPhoto, then you will have to weed through these to determine what to archive and what to delete.
If you are an iMovie/ Final Cut user, both apps have their own individual Trash location that needs to be emptied, too!
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your other Mailboxes and other Mail categories to see If there is other mail you can archive and/or delete.
STAY AWAY FROM DELETING ANY FILES FROM OS X SYSTEM FOLDER!
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Look in your Applications folder, if you have applications you haven't used in a long time, if the app doesn't have a dedicated uninstaller, then you can simply drag it into the OS X Trash icon. IF the application has an uninstaller app, then use it to completely delete the app from your Mac.
To find other large files, download an app called Omni Disk Sweeper.

Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

Things to consider before moving your iPhoto Library Folder to a new or external location like an external hard drive.
If you make movies on any iDevices using iMovie for iOS,, then transfer the video footage, the IOS version of iMovie saves the footage as a movie file in IPhoto for IOS and will automatically get transferred to iPhoto for the Mac when you upload the video from your iDevice.
Newer versions of iMovie will work and link those video files found in your iPhoto Library on your Mac, but those links can be lost if you move your iPhoto library and you will not be able to relink that video afterwards as the current versions of iMovie seem to not have a relink option for the video portion of the files (ironically, current versions of iMovie HAVE the ability to re-link the audio files from the video footage, though (The inability to re-link the video files could be a possible bug or oversight in current versions iMovie).
The lost video links show up as "blacked-out" video blocks with no content.
Before moving the iPhoto Library
If you make movies with iMovie using iPad or iPhone video then 'Consolidate' the files before you finish. This will gather (albeit by duplicating) all the relevant files in the project in one place. After consolidating/duplicating all of the audio and video footage to a seperate, independent location,it should be safe to move your iPhoto library.
The potential way to circumvent this issues maybe to try and import iPad and iPhoto video directly into iMovie which would be another solution.

Whats the problem with nvidia?

1.tried the new 91.31 nvidia drivers.ok, unistalled old one 84.xx, rebooted and instlalled new one. rebooted and what do i see: titan quest shuts down before even starting to play.cant access the nvidia control panel either, it gives errors- those 91.xx seem crap. rolled back: every thing works fine again
2.tried to install the 7 series driver from nvidia site: it says no driver has been found for my video card. i know my video is a low end, the 7300 gs, but its still a 7 series. what is this crap. are nvidia making it on purpose? im starting to get tired of nvidia gpus, and ill maybe give ati a try, since ive never had a ati gpu
Now im running the 91.33 which i downloaded from driversheaven.net and im still testing it. tried the 91.37 beta it doesnt want to install.
my computer if perfectly stable and those nvidia drivers are driving me crazy, from experience i know to use the latest drivers, but nvidia are complicating my life with their untested or unfinished or whatever reason for crap drivers.

You have to keep a few things in mind.
First, the reality is, they make drivers to support the latest cards and technology on the market. Granted they are way beyond the 7X.XX series drivers and into the 90's, so the reasons why they are up that high I do not know. I think there are a lot more things involved since SLI was introduced.
The point I'm trying to make here is, new drivers are for the latest tech, and sometimes support for older tech is adversely affected. Sometimes the release is for reasons that do not pertain to you and your setup.
Do you read release notes? Perhaps you should start, since you seem the type that like to update drivers for whatever reason.
Don't fall into the trap of installing drivers evertime they spit new ones out because someone tells you to have the latest drivers. It's just not the reality.
the reality is if it's working fine, then leave the thing alone. Do your homework before testing new drivers and avoid the kneejerk reaction of updating for the sake of updating.
Now, everytime I see someone claiming their sytem is stable, it's actually quite the opposite. Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling you a liar. You may be an exception. But my experience is telling me (from what you've reported) there may be problems you are not aware of. Not being able to install drivers is a result of improperly chosen drivers or unsupported hardware. There may be ommisions in the ini file pertaining to your card, it could be a ton of things. Your hardware table may be getting corrupt from all the different drivers and such. There could be problems in your registry..

You're welcome. The cleaning discs will have onscreen instructions. It's very basic & easy. Insert the disc & let it do its thing. It will let you know when done cleaning.

What the **** happened with Mail? HELP!

I just upgraded to Leopard, and downloaded and installed all system updates. Now my Mail doesn't work properly. When I click on the mail I appeared running in the dock, but I can't see it. I clicked on Window, and selected Message Viewer to see what's in my Inbox and compose email. Now I can't quit the Mail normally. I have to Force Quit it all the time. I can not send/receive mail either. I checked the account details and it's correct.

Additional info for above process (I encountered same upgrade problem), to recover the "old" mailboxes/messages.
After a Restart and opening Mail, the Continue action imports account data, BUT the prior boxes & messages could be MIA (missing), _as apakhlev warns_. IF you have a backup copy or the mailboxes actually still are on the HD, you may be-in-luck. Mailboxes you have created can be Imported by the Mail app. I'm uncertain about the higher level (Inbox) and did not find prior messages it contained. For the moment, anything in the Inbox has not displayed. It may, or may not be recoverable. Nonetheless, here's what HAS been successful on a G4 iMac;
Open Mail app. From the Menu slide to File and drop down to "Import Mailboxes...". Routing I used - should be close for us "basic users"; /Users>UserName>Library>Mail>Mailboxes. Import the Mailboxes. Wanting to ensure a clean opening of Mail, I did Restart. You decide!
Living resumed (e-mail returned) <smile>.

What can I do about this window called "mac keeper". I was surfing news and this small window pops up that said I should clean my computer. Thje only opption was to push the button that said OK. It was in front of a full screen window non dicrip window. I coild not kill" either window. I could not shut quit safari or shut down via yhe apple shut down so I held the start button down till the computer shut down. Who is this ******* co. and how did they get a strangle hold on my computer and most of all how can I prevent them again?

ive been reading through these pages and it cant really make head nor tail of the info regarding ati cards.
i plan to get a sapphire radeon 9700 pro ultimate to stick into a new K7N2 Delta L mobo. no can somebody give me a straight answer on this, will it cause me grief? will there be lock ups, black screens etc....
also, will the heat pipe thing used by it(massive) actually fit in the mobo ok?

I have just bought and downloaded an Adobe Editions ebook and install the ADE which wants me to activate my computer.
I enter the same user name and password I used to log onto this forum but all I get is this error:

If you meant "does not run", then you probably want to run it from a
command window. See the README.txt file that comes with JavaMail
for instructions on how to set up your CLASSPATH and such to make
it run properly.
