Whatis the FileCatcher functionality in SAP WebDispatcher???

Hi all,
the subject pretty much says it. What exactly is this FileCatcher and how does it work. I seem to be unable to find any information about it.
Can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks in advance,
   Christian

Hi Christian,
could you please provide me more details where you have found informations regarding the FileCatcher ?
The only thing I know is the File Access Handler as described in the SAP Help Portal :
<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c4/87153a1a5b4c2de10000000a114084/frameset.htm">Documentation for icm/HTTP/file_access_XX</a>

These update summaries ought to include at least a link to some real explanation of what functionality the update fixes or improves. Simply stating
provdes access to iOS products is worthless.

It's a compatibility update to read files created by iWork for iOS 1.7, but it doesn't include features or anything else

  • Does anyone know what the Trigger function do?

    Hi all,
I recently have to build a device driver for positioning controller. Can
someone tell me under what circumstances the function Trigger under GPIB
488.2 becomes useful? What to expect after this function is executed? Help
doesn't explain much about this function.
    Thanks alot.
    Nam.

    Hi,
Trigger line allows programmer to start a process on one or several instruments at a given time. For example, an ADC may often be programmed for triggered single-shot acquisition. Trigger may be critical for synchronizing purposes.

  • Unable to use the infographic function for SAP Lumira Personal Edition

    Hi All,
Just to check, has the function "Infographic" been removed for the "free" account users?
    Thanks.

We plan to remove this limitation in the free Personal Edition of Lumira before the end of this year.  In the meantime, as mentioned by Chris, you can initiate the 30 day trial option which you can activate from within the "Home" page of the Personal Edition of Lumira.

  • What is the diff b/w Sap Scripts and Smart Forms

    Hi,
Whats the diff b/w SAP Scripts and Smart Forms..
I need the internal explanation for both Smart Forms and SAP Scripts mean when we execute what happens whether Print Program r Forms starts execution 1st  and SIMILARLY FOR SMARTFORMS WHETHER FM'S  R FORMS.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Gopi.

    Hi
    Difference with SMARTFORMS vs. SapScript(SE71)
The Following are the differences :-
    a) Multiple page formats are possible in smartforms which is not the case in SAPScripts
    b) It is possible to have a smartform without a main window .
    c) Labels cannot be created in smartforms.
    d) Routines can be written in smartforms tool.
    e) Smartforms generates a function module when activated.
    f) Unlike sapscripts (RSTXSCRP), you cannot upload/download Smartform to your local harddisk.
It was said that it was provided in CRM 3.0 version, but not available in R/3. You can download smartforms into Local PC in a XML format. In the same way you can upload this XML format into Smartform. From the smartform editor itself you can call download option, if you are working in CRM 3.0 environment.
In R3 also, you can download into XML format. However, it's not sure about uploading. Refer to the program 'SF_XSF_DEMO'.
In 4.7 Enterprise, other have seen this utlity which is completey missing in 4.6c. There is functionality to downlaod a complete form or only a particular node. (Utilities -> Download form). It will create a XML file and save it in the hard disk.
For others, if you want to download/upload the Smartforms source, you will need the help from the Basis people. What you can do is to create a Transport and then FTP down to your local harddisk. When you need the Smartform source in another system, you have FTP up the Smartforms file back to the SAP server. Finally, the Basis team, will tp it into your system.
    g) The protect and endprotect command in sapscript doesn't work with smartforms. For example on a invoice: First data of position no 80. is printed on page one, other data of position no 80 is printed on page 2. And there's nothing you can do about it. Actually, there is something you can do about it. By using a folder node and checking the 'protect' checkbox, everything in that folder will be page protected.

    Reward points if helpful.

  • SAP XI - Using the substring function.

    Hi Experts,
I am having trouble using the substring function in SAP+XI. I have to consider the value from characters 6 to 19 for a target field of 25 characters. Every time I ma using the standard substring function it is giving an error Array Out of Bounds Exception.
Please tell me how to proceed.
    Thanks
    Aniruddha

    Hi,
Above error wil come if the input string length is less than the substring length what you are trying to get..
i.e length of the input string is less than 25 characters... do some validations or pass substring as 6 and 0 ..

  • Math Functions in SAP

What are the math functions in SAP?

    Hi,
This is what u want may be
    Mathematical Functions
ABAP contains a range of built-in functions that you can use as mathematical expressions, or as part of a mathematical expression:
    [COMPUTE] <n> = <func>( <m> ).
The blanks between the parentheses and the argument <m> are obligatory. The result of calling the function <func> with the argument <m> is assigned to <n>.
Functions for all Numeric Data Types
The following built-in functions work with all three numeric data types (F, I, and P) as arguments.
Functions for all numeric data types
    Function
    Result
    ABS
    Absolute value of argument.
    SIGN
    Sign of argument:                      1 X > 0
                                                  SIGN( X) = 0 if X = 0
                                                                   -1 X < 0
    CEIL
Smallest integer value not smaller than the argument.
    FLOOR
Largest integer value not larger than the argument.
    TRUNC
    Integer part of argument.
    FRAC
    Fraction part of argument.
The argument of these functions does not have to be a numeric data type. If you choose another type, it is converted to a numeric type. For performance reasons, however, you should use the correct type whenever possible. The functions itself do not have a data type of their own. They do not change the numerical precision of a numerical operation.
    DATA N TYPE P DECIMALS 2.
    DATA M TYPE P DECIMALS 2 VALUE '-5.55'.
    N = ABS( M ).   WRITE:   'ABS:  ', N.
    N = SIGN( M ).  WRITE: / 'SIGN: ', N.
    N = CEIL( M ).  WRITE: / 'CEIL: ', N.
    N = FLOOR( M ). WRITE: / 'FLOOR:', N.
    N = TRUNC( M ). WRITE: / 'TRUNC:', N.
    N = FRAC( M ).  WRITE: / 'FRAC: ', N.
    The output appears as follows:
    ABS:              5.55
    SIGN:             1.00-
    CEIL:             5.00-
    FLOOR:            6.00-
    TRUNC:            5.00-
    FRAC:             0.55-
    DATA: T1(10),
    T2(10) VALUE '-100'.
    T1 = ABS( T2 ).
    WRITE T1.
    This produces the following output:
    100
Two conversions are performed. First, the contents of field T2 (type C) are converted to type P. Then the system processes the ABS function using the results of the conversion. Then, during the assignment to the type C field T1, the result of the function is converted back to type C.
    Floating-Point Functions
The following built-in functions work with floating point numbers (data type F) as an argument.
Functions for floating point data types
    Function
    Meaning
ACOS, ASIN, ATAN; COS, SIN, TAN
    Trigonometric functions.
    COSH, SINH, TANH
    Hyperbolic functions.
    EXP
Exponential function with base e (e=2.7182818285).
    LOG
    Natural logarithm with base e.
    LOG10
    Logarithm with base 10.
    SQRT
    Square root.
For all functions, the normal mathematical constraints apply (for example, square root is only possible for positive numbers). If you fail to observe them, a runtime error occurs.
The argument of these functions does not have to be a floating point field. If you choose another type, it is converted to type F. The functions themselves have the data type F. This can change the numerical precision of a numerical operation.

  • F-4 Key on Windows 8.0 what is this function for?

I accidentally pushed F-4 Key by itself, and my screen was wider and something pop up on the right side of my screen that had 4 choices of ???  My question is what is this function for??  And after I push it again it went back to normal.  I would also like to know what the other functions are for on top row F-1 to F-12 and yes I am a new user to this laptop from HP.  I know there is also windows + keys commands and I am interested in knowing more about what goes on with my pc.  F-3 has a icon that looks like a light, and yes I have a lot to learn,  Thanks in advance for anyone who wishes to give me help on these matters.

    Hi,
On the top of F4 key, you should see a screen symbol and normally (w/o preesing F4) this will output to an external monitor. For Fn+F4, please read the following article:
        http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c00294488
What is your machine ? Depeinding on the model/product of your machine, some keys my line up a bit difference but you can see symbol on each key and work this out. For example F2 and F3 are for brightness, F5 for backlit keyboard (not all machines). F6 to F11 for sound/video and F12 for wireless. On your machine, some keys may be swapping around but basically they all have one symbol each.
    Regards.

  • What the result while a user thread holding pidlock to sleep?

I know pidlock is used to protect process create/exit/swap and so on. When a user kernel thread sleeps holding pidlock, the dispatcher doesn't work or system will hang? So what the real function of pidlock?
    Thanks?

Hi, can't be sure out here, but it sounds that perhaps there may have been a hidden folder behind those other ones? Did you drag select?
If it isn't that then perhaps som Disk/OS maintenance is in order.

  • What are the different functions used in sap script?

    Hi,
What are the different functions used in sap script? What are the parameters used in each Function?
    Regards,
    Mahesh

he print program is used to print forms. The program retieves the necesary data from datbase tables, defines the order of in which text elements are printed, chooses a form for printing and selects an output device and print options.
    Function modules in a printprogram:
When you print a form you must used the staments OPEN_FORM and CLOSE_FORM. To combine forms into a single spool request use START_FORM and END_FORM.
To print textelements in a form use WRITE_FORM. The order in which the textelements are printed, is determined by the order of the WRITE_FORM statements. Note: for printing lines in the body, you can also use the WRITE_FORM_LINES function module.
To transfer control command to a form use CONTROL_FORM.
    Structure of a print program
    Read data
    Tables: xxx.
    SELECT *
    FROM xxx.
Open form printing - Must be called before working with any of the other form function modules.

  • What are the roles & responsibilities of SAP MDG Functional Consultant?

    Dear experts,
Please explain What are the roles & responsibilities of SAP MDG Functional Consultant?
    Regards
    Adhi,

    Hello Adhi
There is no limit to explore in MDG. As a functional consultant you are responsible for -
    1. Defining scope of MDG
    2. Set up governance process - Workflow
    3. Configuration - MDG (Activate services - functions / role set up / Data modelling / process modelling / replication set up ) - You have to involve in each of these activities with technical. You can also do it on your own.
    4. Testing - end to end testing and training
    5. Cut over activities - data load etc
In these areas, you have to contribute 100% and work with entire team (tech) for set up.
As mention, you can explore a lot in MDG.

  • Whats the functional difference between user IDs SAP* and DDIC?

Whats the functional difference between SAP* and DDIC? Can any one tell me please. I am new here. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Farooq,
There are three user IDs in various SAP clients.
    1. SAP* (Client 000 and 001)
SAP* denotes the default super user and has all administrative powers.
    2. DDIC (Client 000 and 001)
DDIC user is responsible for the maintenance of the ABAP/4 Dictionary and the software logistics.
    3. EarlyWatch (Client 066)
The EarlyWatch user has access only to monitoring and performance data.
Please check this link for more information on data dictionary objects.
