  • New to SAP CRM world... Looking for RoadMap

    Dear Friends,
Recently moved to SAP CRM environment and has no SAP backgroung either. At this point, i am looking for any kind of road map that coaches / mentors me in understanding the subject.
Can anyone please lead me further? Thank you.
    Rashmin

There is no single roadmap for CRM. You have to figure out what is needed for your business.
Two good tools are Solution Composer and the below mentioned book.
You can find an overview of available functionality in SAP CRM in the book
Title: 'mySAP CRM - The Official Guidebook to SAP CRM 4.0'.
Authors: Rüdiger Buck-Emden & Peter Zencke
    Published by: SAP Press
    Buy it at: SAP Press
    Important Note: The book contains
    NO information on customising.

  • New in Sap CRM

    Hello Frends,
I am new in CRM. I was trained in ABAP. Now I want to learn about SOLUTIONS MANAGER. Mainly About ORDER OBJECTS.
Can Anyone send me the basics about this?
It would be really helpful for me......
    Thanks and regards,
    Anoop

You can create it just on ERP side and replicate it to CRM system. To do the replication, go to transaction R3AS an run object  DNL_CUST_PROD1. This download has to be performed before the material download.
A delta download is not available so this replication must be repeated everytime data is changed in ERP. You can monitor the progress of download in R3AM1.
    Regards.

  • BP Role in SAP CRM 7.0

    Hi Gurus,
As i am new to SAP CRM, not able to understand from where to start the config can anybody help in this regards.
Which are the steps to follow for BP-LEAD-OPPORTUNITY-QUOTATION
and also give your ideas regarding How to create BP Role in SAP CRM 7.0
    Thanks in advance....
    Regards,
    Dinesh Deshpande.

Well, first of all you should do a business blueprint so that you know what business process you need to support. And then you can consider the actual implementation.
And then you can use SAP's best practice guides as a starting point when doing the actual setup. Here are some links:

  • SAP CRM Implementation Process

    Hi Guy's,
I am kind of new to SAP CRM... I am in the process of finding as much information as possible regarding SAP CRM. I have a general question (show below) regarding CRM Implementation... I am hoping to get an answer from you....
Q: If any Company chooses to implement SAP CRM in 2 or more phases.... then which functionalities (Ex: in Marketing, Sales and CIC) the company would implement in the 1st phase and what are the other functionalities he would like to implement in the next phases?
Let me know if the question is not clear enough....
I really appreciate, if you could explain in detail.....
    Thanks in advance...
    Sreen

    Hi Sreen,
In the case of Sales / ICWC you could start with basic order entry. This would be phase 1.
In phase 2 you could add extended fact sheet, sales contracts, case management, and scripting functionalities. If you decide to include Marketing, then this phase could for example include free goods.
Phase 3 would consist of extended marketing functionality: full segmentation of BPs according to multiple marketing attributes; marketing calendar/plan and campaigns.
Phase 1 alternative: Leave ICWC for phase 2 and only implement basic sales functionality in phase 1. In that case you would do order entry via CRMD_ORDER and not via ICWC. Phase 2 would then included (basic) ICWC functionality.
Of course the demands and requirements of your customer would be leading in deciding the phasing of your project.
    Kind regards,
    KZ

  • HI TO ALL GURUS nEW MEMBER IN CRM COMMUNITY

    Hi sam here,
I am new to SAP CRM, would like to know a few things that a ABAPer should know to make a living
    Now venturing into SAP CRM.
Technical area-- BADI's and standard ABAP work that i don't know what i have to do.
I know a few function modules.
I am checking out help.sap.com truly speaking getting lost in that mass.
    REQUIREMENTS:
    1CRM Table model and relationship.
2FM USAGE (important function modules to know)
3Suggest me what ABAPer(i) must know to solve issues.
4I will be very happy if i can get a documentation that shows a technical view point.

    Sam,
    My recommendations:
For data model you can use a CRM system via SD11 to review the CRM data model.  The model objects are PRM_BP - business partner, PRM_BPROC - business transactions, and  PRM_PROD - products should be reviewed.
You should make yourself familiar with the XIF adapter.  Look at function modules CRMXIF_SAVE and CRMXIF_EXTRACT for more information.
Another tool you must learn to use is the following:
In SE80 browse the Application Hierarchy by packages.
You can find the technical supporting component of any almost CRM application via this technique.
I recommend that if you have an service.sap.com marketplace id, that you download the CRM PCUI cookbook and IC webclient cookbook.
You should also take some functional classes on CRM.  It will help you learn the application, which will make investigating the technical side a lot eaiser.  Pick either Sales or Marketing as an easy way to get started.
That's just a start.  It takes at least three months of actual project work, being guided by a senior CRM abap developer, before someone new to the product can start working independently.  This estimate is based on people who have worked with me on past projects.  I have personally worked with the product since 2001, and had to learn CRM the "hard way".  You should have no problem picking things up with what is available today, if you have a solid ABAP development background.
    Good luck,
    Stephen

  • Accessing SAP CRM 7.0 objects

    Hi All,
After doing lot of research on SAP CRM 7.0 documentation, I got to know that there are different ways to access data from the system:
    1) Using BAPIs
    2) Using RFCs
    3) Using SAP XI
    4) Using Web Services (Enterprise services?)
I am interested in going with the Web Services option.
I have read in the documentation that Enterprise Service Repository is part of SAP NetWeaver Platform.
We are planning to register for SAP RAC service to get access to SAP CRM 7.0.
If we have access to just SAP CRM 7.0, will I be able to access the web services.
Can someone please help me understand this.
    Thanks
    Naga
P.S I am very very new to SAP CRM. Please bear with my questions.

    Hi Isaac,
    Thanks for your reply.
I read the documentation[1] which says that there are 235 enterprise services built for 35 business objects.
That said, the wsdl will be already published for all those default web services I believe.
Can't I just consume the default web services and read the data from SAP CRM 7.0?
As SAP CRM is dependent on SAP NetWeaver, can I assume that I will have access to all the Out of the Box web services if I have SAP CRM 7.0 installation.
    Thanks
    Naga

  • Step by step guide of creation of WEB UI in SAP CRM

    Hi Friends,
I am new in SAP CRM. I want to create a WEB UI in SAP CRM. Kindly share the link or documents.
    Regards,
    Narendra Goyal

First check documentation on the following wiki page: http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/CRMWebClientUIFramework.
If you want to buy a book that gives the whole overview, then here is one:

  • How to add new fields to CRM 2007 Web UI

    Hi,
I am new to SAP CRM 2007 and I am interested in how to extend the Web UI, for example adding new fields, to meet the customer requirements. Should I use the EEW or is there another "new and easier" way?
    Thanx & best regards,
    Oliver
Edited by: Oliver Pregler on Jan 30, 2008 5:50 PM

Actually for the new IC webclient UI you have need to take a look at your options:
    1.  New Installation:
Use the EEWB and add the fields.  As part of the EEWB work, you will have a couple of post-processing steps where you will add your generated fields to the new screens.  However this doesn't require any programming.
    2.  Upgrade from CRM 4.0/50
    - New fields to add as part of upgrade
See the directions for new installation
    - Existing fields to add as part of upgrade
--See the blog on the 40/52 CUSTOMER_H migration for transaction fields
--Business Partner fields part of BUT000 available via UI configuration tool, no extra work needed
--Business Partner fields part of tabular extension, manual work required, I am still "perfecting" this method and plan on writing a blog once I have the technique finished.
--Product Attributes - use the transaction CRMM_UI_PROD_GEN and CRMM_UIU_PROD_CONFIG
I know CRM 2007 is based on the same tech foundation as 2006s, with some differences in how the UI tool works and the fact there are some screen layout changes(editable overviews).  The extension procedures are generally the same.  I can answer some of you extension questions based on my work with CRM 52 so far.  It will generally apply to your situation.
BTW:  The PCUI is no longer supported in CRM 2006s and above.  Even the old SAP GUI transactions such as BP, COMM_PRODUCT are removed from the standard CRM menu.   The SAP CRM web client should be used instead now.
    Take care,
    Stephen

    Ahmad

    Hi Ali,
Every transaction which you create have some predefined rule in the form of procedure which is attached in the transaction level. You can follow below path and check for the transaction which are the rule maintained.
    CRM->Basic setting-> Define transaction types.
Search for your transaction type and double link in order to see all the rules attached to transaction level.
You also need to define which item categories you wanted to configure for particular transaction type which you all ready have done it seems.
You also need to define pricing procedure to the transaction where you need to checked for errors.
    Below is the path
CRM->Basic setting-> Define transaction type-> open your transaction
step 2:click on assignment of business transaction categories than select category as Sales
than click on  Customizing Header option to see attached pricing procedure with it.here you need to check for your error.
to check partner determination rule please follow below path in SPRO. -> partner determination procedure
Check in head of transaction which partner procedure is attached.
Than search for partner determination procedure in below path.
I hope this will help you to validate the setting for your transaction and will be helpful to solve your issue.
    Thanks,
    Prem
