Hello, yes I have updated both of my SPA-1001 with FW release 3.1.19SE.
It had fixed issues I was having with all versions between 3.1.10SE and 3.1.18SE inclusive, where every second sotf reset caused SPA-1001 to boot with audio not properly initialized ...
So the FW versions I recomend are 3.1.8SE or 3.1.19SE

How come my powerpoint app only comes to a page that says whats new with powerpoint?

When I click on my power point app to open it the only thing that comes up is a screen that says "whats new with power point" i do not have any options to open a new template or create a new one. My Word app works just fine, but power point is giving lots of grief.

You might want to contact MS for support. It sounds like your office install is not working correctly.

Whats New With Version 1.1.4 ?

I was just wondering, whats new with the new 1.1.4 software upgrade?
I remember the 1.1.3 upgrade had all kinds of new things you could do with maps and rearranging the home screen. But now with this upgrade i dont see any difference. And there is nothing on the apple site covering the topic.

Nothing new, just fixes for 1.1.3 bugs. e.g. SMS out of order.
Version 2.0 in late June will be more exciting.

I have confirmed his complaint. stopAllSounds works correctly
across multiple swfs on an html page using Flash player 8 but not
with Flash Player 9.
Incidentally, there is another big "improvement" (they say)
that prevents you from uninstalling the Flash 9 player without
running
their uninstaller exe. Unfortunately, their uninstaller
uninstalls all flash player versions (not just version 9) from ALL
browsers
so if just want to remove player 9 from IE you are forced to
also uninstall it from FireFox etc as well. Great, huh?

What new setup would you get for editing video in iMovie?

Hey gang. I'm upgrading all the electronics in my home and would love some buying and configuring advice. This question could go in the desktop discussion group as well, but the main thing that will tax the next system is family video editing and (temporary) storage. What desktop would you get? iMac or maybe Mac Mini? What camcorder? Canon Vixia ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/838768-REG/Canon_M50_HF_M50.html )? I want movies to load quickly and easily, so was thinking of one with SD card media. Time Capsule? (One advisor said to go with another router). And if you were going to get a new TV, what would you get? Flat panel or projector? Yeah, I know: my credit card is gonna be lovin' me. Been saving up, though, and just built all new furniture for my home office, so I can't wait to load it up with nice new gear. Thanks for any advice!

What happen with the IM messaging for nokia N8???

nokia can you tell me if you have plans to create a IM client for nokia n8, I bougth this device because I saw the demo and watch IM for this.
I don't want use nimbuzz or third party client please do something. or give me information if I hac still waiting for this aplication.

I am surprised, disappointed, upset, frustrated...... to see Nokia doing nothing. Isn't it so natural to have this function nowaday? What's more, my Social Networks is totally disappeared in my N8. I send emails, phone calls to HK staffs... but still with no answer.
You know what, people who use N8 in Hong Kong nowadays becomes idiots. Even worse after the news of dumping Symbian. I saw some guys selling their N8 to China at big discounts or hiding their "flagship smartphone" in their pockets.
Wake up Nokia! I think you can do much better than this.

it says that there are no updates available for this product. It's probably because it is discontiniued.
However, input your product code in this checker tool to see if you got any luck:http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/device-software-update/can-i-update
However if there aren't any, you could always call a Nokia care point to ask if they have the the option to install the latest one, however I think you will have to face that you won't get it updated.
But it never hurts to try!

Haha, yes Bob, that would be nice. But it does look like Apple are loosening the vice like grip on control of how apps can interact with each other, and how it can interact with device features, so fingers crossed that helps Adobe in some way? Dunno how, I'm not that smart :-)

Cloning Hdd to SSD boot drive and what happens with Music/Logic Plugins

Hi, my computer is a mid-2012 Mac Pro 12 Core
It's a great computer but I'm considering upgrading my main boot drive (WD Caviar Black 1TB HDD) to a 1tB Samsung EVO 840 SSD drive (I'm using a sonnet tempo PCI card to mount an SSD that holds audio at the moment and will add another SSD for the boot drive I'm referring to) so I just had a question - if I clone the HDD to the new SSD, what happens with things like licenses for my audio plugins, such as Native Instruments Komplete, programs by IKMultemedia. programs that use an ILOK such as Steven Slate Plugins and also, WAVES plugins? Will this info all carry across to the new SSD drive or do you think I'll need to reauthorise some things? I have all the serials etc so this shouldn't be an issue, but just wondered.
Any help would be appreciated as it feels like quite a big step in that it's my main system drive!

CCC is excellent. If it doesn't work then sure, just always have a safety net of your system that is untouched.
Also, after a clean install, CLONE it!
And then use Setup Assistant. Migration Assistant.
Clone of the system can go on sparse disk images too so you don't have to partition (should have at least one though) and you can have clone from different stages and versions: 10.9.4, without Setup Assistant, migrated, full loaded with all your apps. Multiple versions.
CCC is designed to make a working bootable copy of a system so you can move the system to another boot device like hdd and SSDs without the worry.
But I think we were talking about a system that did not see a clean install of Mountain Lion or Mavericks so it is over due for one!

The template is a document in itself, it is not applied to an existing document whether it is a Pages document or a Word document converted to a Pages document.
You would need to either copy and paste content, using existing styles, or apply the styles to the converted Word document.
You can Import the Styles from an existing document and those imported Styles can be used to override the current document's styles:
Menu > Format > Import Styles
The process is simplified if the styles use the same names, otherwise you will need to delete the style you don't want and replace it with the one that you do want when asked, then the substitution is pretty straightforward.

A much simpler solution would be to go into Settings > Store and turn off Automatic Downloads

What's with the obsession for the new MB Core 2 Duo?

I just don't understand why many MB users are crying about the Macbook C2D which just came out today. I don't see much of improvement of this generation compared to the 1st one. Seems to me the only major change is just the CPU, which generally gives you what, 10% of speed difference, from the reviews ive read (the advertised 25%? I don't think so.). How many of you can really tell the difference?
The performance bottleneck of the Macbook is at the graphic card, not the CPU. If Apple had released the Macbook C2D with a dedicated graphic card, even if it was just an x1300 or an old-school x300, I would say this is a great buy and I would regret for my purchase of the old macbook a few months back, too. But unfortunately, that's not what just happened.
Anyway, looking at the new macbook C2D today, I'm still quite happy with my old macbook. Not a thread of regret at all. What about you guys?

The big deal is the 64-bit capability of the new chip. Being that Leopard is being advertised as being a fully 64-bit capable OS, there's a possible performance benefit in the future, along with more RAM capacity for the Mac Pro's. As of now, there's no reason to rush out and get one if you've got an "old" model.
In fact, I'm wondering if there won't be another refresh with Leopard that offers the newer PRE-N wireless chips like in the pro models for support for the next-gen Airport. Thus, I don't think I'm going to bite on this new model. I believe the next refresh will offer a lot more in term of new features and performance.
