What part of that statement in your link do you not get? App developers will or will not make those changes, not Apple. It is entirely possible some apps will never get updated for retina, as their developers will drop those products and move on to new ones. Yes, Apple may set certain minimum standards and requirements for inclusion of anyone's app in their storefront (as I already said), but it is entirely up to the developers to actually implement those changes. Complaining on an Apple forum that a particular developer chose not to is pointless and a waste of everyone's time.

Back up and restore your software via iTunes. If the problem continues, restore as a NEW device. If this solves it, that means there is some corruption in your backup file, or maybe it's one of your apps causing the trouble. 1) If a thief is caught and they haave an ipod, they will check to see if the serial number is reported stolen ( to the police - not APPLE). You should report therft ot the police not the make of each iten that is stolen.

The little lock has nothing to do with speaker volume. It means you have locked the rotation on your iPhone.
Have you tried using the volume control on the side of the iPhone to raise the volume when someone calls?

Have you synced this phone, with iTunes, while the passcode was enabled? If so, plug it in, iTunes running, & hit the Restore button on the Summary Pane. This will also erase the phone.
However, if you have not synced, while the passcode was enabled, you will not be able to do this without first enereting the passcode. If that's the case, try recovery mode:

I also apologize, I'm a bit unclear what issues you were having that led up to the attempted Erase All, and/or exactly what behavior you are seeing now (restarting, not responding at all, etc). Some "movies' are actually Flash files.
This means the Flash App will play them (possibly in a browser in some cases).
Depending where this item is and how it is playing it may be effected by other things
A web page can include javascript.
Apple uses javascript here to help with creating the posting box, the Edit options, Adding pics/smilies and the like.
Sometimes the javascript can be what is called a runaway process and gets sort of stuck in an endless loop.
If it is a free standing item then it might be triggered by AppleScript on the Mac. (or be modified in some way)
Again if the Script (normally written with a upper case S) is not perfect it can cause problems.

If you have forgotten the passcode for the lock screen, connect in recovery mode to restore:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
You'll get the option to set up a new code during this process.

Since it will not boot then a hardware test can't be run. You could try FireWire Target Disk Mode and if it works then access from another Mac to run tests on the new drive. You could also try installing the OS X software from the host computer. If this does not work then professional help should be considered.

The iPhone includes a one year warranty. If purchased new in October of 2012, it remains under warranty. Call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.
