Whats the deal?

So we had / have a standard "Blast" internet which was 75/10 connection speed. I sometimes work from home, and we are a pretty connected family, so we have been running into the insanley stupid bandwidth cap. Serioulsy? A Bandwidth cap on a landline? Whatever, I wont get into how stupid that is and how other providers (google fiber) will be in our area soon and hopefully I can drop comcast completely. Anyways, I decided to "upgrade" to a buisness class account for the internet. Which is costing me more than the internet we currently have and ITS SLOWER. $109 a month for 50/10. At this point I was kind of numb, and just ready to be done paying overages. The comcast guy came out, installed it and activated our modem for us, since I provide my own modem. Finally, when I called to cancel the home service they let me know that since I have a bundle with the internet and the TV, that they cant bundle buisness with home services...so now I have to pay you MORE for cable that I already have!
This entire ordeal has left a bad taste in my mouth. When I was on the phone with a representative I was asked if I had considered monitoring my internet usage and scaling it back when I am getting close to my data cap. Is there some sort of data shortage I should know about? Is the internet about to colapse and we are rationing the last internet reserves? Why should I need to curb my internet habits when I am paying a company $109 a month to provide me with that service? Thats insane. Heres what I want, I want the buisness class internet without the bandwidth cap and I want you to leave my TV alone, I am not changing anything with my cable subscription. Thanks,A particuarly annoyed customer.

Zoning isn't something we have control over. Zoning is determined by local governments as a tool for urban planning. Zones are enacted as a by-law which regulate the use, form, design, and compatibility of development. If you think that Comcast, or any other business for that matter, has any influence on government zoning, then you don't really understand what zoning is. 
The back end has nothing to do with merging accounts together because you're still dealing with two different kinds of classes. Business class is different from Residential. This is something that you've witnessed first hand and can attest to when you switched from Residential internet to Business internet. You got different speeds, different rates, different kind of agreements, and no data cap. All those things were different from how your residential internet was set up. It's the same for TV. Business TV has its own specific set of rates, agreements, regulations, etc. Bottom line, because they're different classes, you can't merge them together. 
The data limit is something that is still being evaluated for change. What you should try to understand is that the current data limit is more of a median mark. Some customers will exceed that mark while others will use substantially less and some will use right around that amount. For many, it's a very viable amount of data. However customers use their own discretion with the amount of data they use. When you're asking about what the point of giving people 75 to 50mb down, then you also need to understand the difference between data and speed. 
The purpose of having higher upload and download speeds is for bandwidth allocation. Each thing you upload/download takes up a certain amount of bandwidth. Data is the amount of content transferred to and from your computer through your modem. While all things you do online use your data, it's the type of applications you're using that ultimately contribute to your data consumption. Things that require more data, such as video streaming as an example, use significantly more data than just general web surfing. Thus, the more bandwidth you have available, the quicker you can complete the task.

    You can use multiple AppleIDs to purchase new music but you are limited as to how frequently you can change authorizations for re-downloading  past purchases.  It may well be a measure to deter piracy by stopping a group of people from going around to a friend's computer and downloading purchases on the other person's computer.  It is easy to avoid by making sure you have backup copies on drives at home so you never need to redownload anything.

    Not sure why only one particular phone is having this problem but this article will help you check and restart it if it's in fact not started: http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1567.  Even if it is running, suggest you stop and restart it.

    Lets talk  in broad terms first.
    For a Buddy to hear you the Mic as to be connected and turned On in iChat
    Taking that it is going to be an Internal Mic we can presume it is connected.
    In iChat it is turned On in the Video menu (It will read Audio if you have no camera) and is the one to the right of the Buddies menu.
    In here, Microphone Enabled (Or Audio Chat Enabled in  Lion) needs to be ticked.
    The Mic then needs to be chosen in System Preferences > Sound > Input AND in iChat as the input/Microphone choice.
    In iChat the choice is made in iChat menu > Preferences > Video/Audio Section > Microphone drop down.
    In the System Preferences > Sound > Input the volume has to be high enough for you to be heard.
    This tends to be a setting that moves the blue bars to about 3/4s of the way across. (At least 1/2 way and not banging in to the right hand end when you talk)
    If you are doing things in other apps that use the mic differently or even a different Mic you may have problems if you don't manually change things back for iChat.
    So...
    Transferring this to the Other end, your Buddy may not have the Mic on.
    May have been doing something else Audio-wise and not changed things back.
    May have reduced the volume for Input for another App and not reset it.
    She may also have issues with the OS "Seeing" the Mic
    She should check the System Profiler (Information in Lion) and see if in Hardware > USB the mic shows up
    You can access this from the Apple Icon Menu and holding the ALT key down.
    If it does not show up here then a SMC/PMU reset may be in order.

    Macbooks are only supported if the're late 2008 Alu or early 2009 or later:
    The OP may have an early 2008 Macbook. You have a Macbook Pro, which is different.

    How could anyone possibly know as you've provided no details.
    What happens when trying to play the media in question?
    Any errors?
    Is there an ! to the left of the media?  If so, this means iTunes is unable to locate the media file.

    I tunes says it is unable to use my Ipad unless it is updated to 11.1 or greater but when I attempt to upgrade I get a message that says you arfe up to date at 7.1.2 they have always worked together but today nothing.

    You have to download and install iTunes 11 on your computer in order to sync the iPad with your computer. That is what the message means.

    Does it need to be a clean install?, is there an upgrade assistant, i dont really want to install from scratch again, its just that because i have a recent xserve i qualify for the upgrade for only £7.95, which is great. Im just wondering if anyone else has done it yet.

    I upgraded over the top from 10.5.7 to 10.6.1 last night.
    Xserve is new Nehalem (2.26GHz 8 Cores, 12GB RAM) Xraid attached.
    Stopped all services except DNS
    Cloned boot drive to spare via CCC, inserted DVD and restarted.
    I updated the cloned spare disk, not my original.
    Took about an hour, then restarted, once Window Manger came up, the installation post procedure kicked in and there was some trivial verbose in the bottom left hand side regarding updating services, with the normal big blue progress bar in the middle of the screen etc.
    Applied 10.6.1 and others, restarted again.
    Once done, I looked at all my services before starting them.
    I run:
    DNS
    OpenDirectory
    DHCP
    MAIL
    WEB + WEBDAV + WebMail (bout 6 site roots from memory)
    AFP
    SMB
    MySQL
    PostGreSQL
    Retrospect
    Other services I use are:
    Joomla 1.5
    Radmind
    NetworkHomeDirectories
    I lost my DHCP static assignments which I knew about from other people's posts.
    DNS, DHCP, MySQL and OpenDirectoy came across fine.
    MAIL
    Mail presented me with a "wizard" walkthrough thingy, which all the settings were prefilled (assuming from the upgrade script) and so I essentially were passenger to clicking next next next... then Okay.
    Did a quick Home directory login in and checked email.
    I could email to myself (locally) fine, but realised after testing that I was not receiving any external mail.
    Checking postmaster, I immediately had tonnes of postmaster email errors of "Postfix SMTP server: errors from <some.domain.name>... uh oh..
    I grepped the mail.log for "warning" and saw smtp errors relating to zen.spamhaus.org.
    I inspected my postconf settings compared to the default settings. (i.e. postconf -n versus postconf -d) to see just how the migration of my settings came across, etc.
    I vi'd into my main.cf and searched for zen.
    It seemed that my settings were rejecting everything from the outside world.
    I removed zen.spamhaus.org and cleaned up cleaned up the mapsrbldomains entry to be just "mapsrbldomains ="
    This fixed email for now, so I'll read up some more about what the settings should be and add zen.spanhaus.org back in later.
    I also modified my main.cf settings to allow MS Outlook to access via imap.
    apparently Outlook only sends the netbios name and not the fqdn of the client to imap servers.
    Even configuring XP in the custom DNS section to include a DNS suffix, Outlook just ignored it and still sent the netbios name after it's HELO command.
    I learnt the hard way that the only fix I found is a work around whereby one must modify there main.cf again:
    Change:
    smtpd_helorestrictions = rejectinvalidhostname rejectnon_fqdnhostname rejectinvalid_helohostname rejectnon_fqdn_helo_hostname
    to:
    smtpd_helorestrictions = rejectinvalid_hostname
    WEB.
    Well, nothing was happening here. Completely broken in every way as apache was trying to respawn after segfaulting every 10 seconds at loading the scgi_pubsub module.
    Disabled that and the seqfaults stopped.
    Didn't get far though as all my virtual sites were screwed.
    As soon as I would start apache via ServerAdmin, all the logs within SA would vanish... (made me smile)
    I ended up trashing all the migrated settings from within SA, as I had exported out a plist for web only.
    All this did was re-enable the segfauts, so I deleted all the 0000domain_portip.conf files from /etc/apache/sites and started from scratch.
    I knew Joomla needed to be patched to work with PHP 5.3 which I did before starting WEB service.
    (used the test.zip file offered at joomla.org and applied it via command line using my good friend Matthias' (http://www.matthiasraab.com/blog/joomla-and-it/36-updating-many-joomla-sites-on- server-level.html) little unzip command. ( I did it manually though as I only have 3 Joomla 1.5.13 sites)
    I vaguely remember installing Marc Linyange's PHP (5.2.x) on 10.5.7 Server to have the comple GD packages, so I went into the apache conf file and had to manually add Apple's new php mod back in, to get PHP back up. (joomla sites were downloading the php file, instead of rendering them, a dead giveaway that Apache knows nada about PHP)
    After re-configuring all the sites, (while testing one at a time) my WEB was back up, and joomla seemed happy enough for my needs. (haven't gone looking for errors yet, as I'm sure they exist in the admin backend)
    I haven't looked too much into webmail, but it works. Previously, I had a heap of extra plugins and vacation filters/scripts installed for my users. but I hear that's now possible via a wiki, so I'll be playing with that after hours.
    I see now the default with my mail server is that you must have something in the subject line, (this gave me another mild heart attack when a user told me they couldn't send email)
    EVERYTHING seems faster!
    I use Network Home Directories for my own home directory (using 2009 Mac Mini with 10.6.1 also) and I've immediately seen improvements. Whether it's just a snappier 10.6 Finder, I'm not sure, but even my users are noticing it from NHD with 10.5.7 Server.
    All in all. I'm very satisfied. This is the first time I've ever attempted to install over the top and I regard my result to be a great success. (I've done this sort of thing since 10.2 Server, and have always built up from vanilla installs, due to the nightmare stories I hear on these forums etc)
    Started the cloning at 8pm, (only 100GB clone as most of our data is symlinked to our Xraid) and I put my head on my pillow at 3am.

    im getting a new NEO2 platinum and a 3500+ newcastle and the guy said the 11/04 board is like rare or something that it doesnt have some 2.5ghz bug .. ?  he wasnt exactly sure what the thing was.
    so i fiugred i'd come here and ask the guys who'd know.
    is there a rev of NEO2 that's supposedly rare or sought after more than other rev's ? and why ?

    I don't know what it is, but I must have one!  I (along with most of the others here with Winnies) fly right passed 2.5 ghz without even changing the stock HSF.  But you've got my curiosity up, hope someone that knows will respond.  Maybe it's only a myth. 
    My 3200+ winnie is a "week 48" (yawn).... someone said that was supposed to be a really good thing.  who knows.  well maybe someone does?
    All I know is that my system works great and has since I first turned it on; however, I'm still not quite sure what the temps are within the system, but that's another story.
    Newcastle? one of those big old .13 things.  I guess they work OK... just kidding.  "to each his own" 
    IMO get the new Venice core.  You'll be oh so happy.
