Whats the difference from mobileme

Hi, I've been looking at getting a mac mini and have discovered the mac mini server. All sounds great, but can some one explain the advantages of this over my mobile me account? All sounds pretty similiar, just that it all happens inhouse rather then in space. I have a business with three people working in it, all using iphones. we update calenders etc on the run or back on the mac desktop no problems. We also have a website running on mobile me, and all our email pushes beautifully. We run iwork so can all share our documents and have even had a play with iwork.com, so what am I missing out on. if i ran a website inhouse i'd be up for more internet fees for all the data where as i get 200g on mobile me. please tell me something amazing that i may be missing out on.

I;d point out; however, that the PUSH technology on Snow Leopard Server DOES NOT work with the iPhone at this time. That means the iPhones need to be configured to PUSH/PULL Mail and iCal (CalDAV). In addition, there is no support, yet, on the iPhone for Snow Leopard Server's Address Book Server (CardDAV). The only way to sync contacts is with iTunes. MobileMe, though, provides all of this; push mail, calendar, and contacts. Something else I do not like about Snow Leopard Server is that the Webmail interface has no support for Address Book Server. I really hope that Apple redesigns Webmail similar to the way they redid the iCal web interface. In addition, I am hoping that the next iPhone OS (4) supports the CardDAV and the PUSH technology in Snow Leopard Server.
With that said, I DO run a Mac Mini server for my mail; but, am using a third party product called Kerio Connect for mail and calendars. It works GREAT. It does EVERYTHING I hope the next version of OSX server will do.

You'll need to restore the phone.  Make a backup first (I suggest to iCloud), and then restore the device.

  • Whats the difference between  MobileMe Mail forums 960 and 961?

There are two MobileMe Mail forums. One is under "MobileMe on www.me.com" and the other is under "MobileMe on my Mac". There isn't really a new desktop mail application is there? Or am I living in a cave, and just didn't notice the update/announcement?

    Unless I'm misunderstanding what you're seeing ...
No I think you understand. It is just that I've been reading some of the posts in those forums, and it is often hard to tell what exactly people are talking about. The terminology used made me think maybe I had missed something. Maybe there was a MobileMe Mail App on my Mac, I thought that could 'sync' something.
    Examples:
[Where has 'Mail Rules' gone..?|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=7645781#7645781] seemed to be describing a webmail interface, but then I wasn't sure.
[Mobile me mail doesn't work at all.|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1616729&tstart=0] mentions mail on the web, but then addresses
[Syncing Mail Folders w/ MobileMe|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1616331&tstart=0] mentions syncing mail folders; made me think maybe there was a feature I had misunderstood.
In general, it is a little hard to tell when people are talking about the web interface or the traditional desktop Mail.app.

  • What the difference between AirPort Extreme from $99 from the other that cost $199,$299or $399

I want to but a airpor extreme but what the difference from the AirPort Extreme starting $99 to the other ones that cost $199,$299 or $399

At $99 you have the Airport Express, $199 the Airport Extreme, $299 a 2TB Time Capsule, and $399 a 3TB Time capsule.  The Airport Express has 100Mb/sec ports and no AC wireless.  The Extreme is gigabit and does AC wireless.  The Time capsule are essentially an Extreme with a built in hard drive for Time Machine backup or general Network Attached Storage.  Read more at the Apple Store.

That's correct. The new models don't use standard drive configurations, they use PCIe connections. There is no support for HDDs in the new models (Retina models and MBAs.)

  • Whats the difference in buying an ipod from apple retail store rather than buying it from Walmart?

Whats the difference in buying an iPod touch from apple retail store rather than from walmart

Some retailers, such as Best Buy, offer a much more robust warranty - even covering accidental damage. Or other retailers may offer bonuses - such as free case or store gift card as an incentive. The orginal Apple 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects applies no matter where it's sold.
I bought both my touch and my iPad from Best Buy and have no issues with it. (the closest apple store was over an hour away)
I think the only warning I'd offer is for a person buying a used device second hand is to make sure it's from a reputable retailer and that hte device is unlocked and ready to use.

Apple manufacturers all of iPads no matter where they are sold. An iPad purchased from AT&T is no different than a like device purchased from Apple.

What does Factory Unlocked International Version GSM Only? what's the difference from other iphon5 specs? pls explain

Only GSM/LTE iPhones can be purchased unlocked. CDMA iPhones are always locked to their specific carrier for CDMA use, though some may either have the GSM portion unlocked or will unlock upon request assuming any necessary requirements are met.

  • Whats the difference between arrayCollection = null and arrayCollection.removeAll()?

Whats the difference between arrayCollection = null and
    arrayCollection.removeAll()?

In arrayCollection = null; statement you're setting this
reference to null and potentially making it available for garbage
collection. I say 'this reference' and potentially because, as you
may know, there might be other references to this array collection
object that won't be affected by this statement and hence it won't
    be GC'ed.
arrayCollection.removeAll() says that I want to empty this
array collection for all the reference that we pointing to it. That
is, remove all the objects from the collection -- and of course
make them 'potentially' available for the GC -- the size of the
array collection would be reduced down to zero and all the
references would be pointing to a valid but empty collection.
    Hope this helps.

  • Whats the difference between list and lov ?

Whats the difference between list and lov ?
i can do the same things with a list what an lov can do .
infact a list is more better. cause the list doesnt hold/show a range of values, and only has the items value iteself.
while the lov can get all the values of items depending on the query.
    like
select ename, job, sal from emp
will show all the three items values in lov?

Also, if you're looking in the US store, the prices are:
    - Airport Express (small, no ac) $99 - Has audio out for speaker connection using Airplay. Can share a USB printer only.
    - Airport Extreme (larger, ac) $199 - No audio out, can share a USB printer or hard drive.
    - Time Capsules (2TB, 3TB at $299, $399) - have ac wireless and a backup hard drive for Time Machine which the other Airports do not have.

    QUERY 1:

        FROM
          tab1 inner join tab2 on condition1 inner join tab3 on condition2 inner join tab4 on conditon3
        WHERE
         condition4..10 and
        GROUP BY
          field1, field2,field3
        HAVING
          sum( case when field4 in (1,2) then 1 when field4 in (3,4) then -1 else 0 end) <> 0;
    QUERY 2:
       SELECT  --<< USING INDEX >>
          field1, field2, field3, sum( decode(field4, 1, 1, 2, 1, 3, -1, 4, -1 ,0))
        FROM
          tab1, tab2, tab3, tab4
        WHERE
         condition1 and
         condition2 and
         condition3 and
         condition4..10
        GROUP BY
          field1, field2,field3
        HAVING
          sum( decode(field4, 1, 1, 2, 1, 3, -1, 4, -1 ,0)) <> 0;

My feeling here is that simply changing join syntax and case vs decode issues is not going to give any significant improvement in performance, and as Tubby points out, there is not a lot to go on. I think you are going to have to investigate things along the line of parallel query and index vs full table scans as well any number of performance tuning methods before you will see any significant gains. I would start with the Performance Manual as a start and then follow that up with the hard yards of query plans and stats.
Alternatively, you could just set the gofast parameter to TRUE and everything will be all right.
