Whats the key command to show which HD to boot from?

Just installed Leopard but I didnt have my external firewire HD's disconnected and now I'm getting that awesome blue screen. I installed Leopard to a 2nd HD in my case.. so.. what is that key command to show what HD to boot from when the machine boots up?

So.. Uh... I see that Apple is saying that these blue screen problems are when there is "incompatible software" on the computer.. Uh. I'm installing this to a 2nd HD as a full install. How can software from the other HD cause problems?

  • What is the key command to open Audition in Logic 8?

The little play icon in the bin, sample editor, etc.
    The one for auditioning things.
Doesn't work for me. The only way I can get, for example, a playback from cursor position in the sample editor--is to manually click on the little green play icon with the mouse. Same with the bin, loops, and so on.
For many years I've had key commands to do this kind of thing, but it is broken for me since Logic 8. What is the key command for this called? I've tried disabling the space bar as a key command, and I've also tried re-enabling it for "play or stop". Although in the latter case, that should still function the way it does in the arrange window.
Actually, I've tried a lot of things and I'm completely out of ideas.
I posted on this subject several months ago and it remains unresolved. For the life of me I cannot get the audition button to work via any key command.
    Help?
    TIA

    Hi
If you imported your key commands from version 7 there can be problems in version 8.
Try using one of the key command presets from version 8.

  • What's the key command : back to last "play position" after I do punch I/O?

I have been try all key commands about "play " function ...
but seems all key command will back to the last recording punch in point, but not back to the last "play" point...
    for example:
move playhead to bar 5 and play, punch in at bar 9 and punch out at bar 11..when I hit stop,I wanna go back to "bar 5 and play" ,maybe do punch I/O at 10 ~12 this time ... is there any key command can make play head go back "bar 5 and play" ?(without setting any locator ..go to...or left window edge )

  • Key commands not showing up in KC window

Today I decided to attempt to get to the bottom of this problem. Since installing 7.1 my key commands are next to useless in terms of having the assigned commands show up in the key command window. Some of the commands show up when the relevent key is pressed but many don't. For instance, I have the letter "R" assigned to "repeat objects", when I press the "R" key nothing shows up in the KC window. If I reassign "repeat objects" to the "Q" key then when I press the "Q" key nothing shows up. Conversely if I assign the "R" key to "destructive quantise" then it does show up. IOW, if I assign any key to "repeat objects" the assigned key never shows up as highlighted in the KC window. This same behaviour shows up for many keys.
I installed on a fresh partition: 10,4,2, Logic7.1, Pro runtime app and find the exact same results. I've tried switching keyboard layouts from UK to American to German - no change.
Can anyone confirm that "repeat objects" shows up as highlighted when the relevent key is pressed in the KC wondow?
    Cheers.

    Hi RajShekhar,
This KF that you have added as an attribute to a char will not be available in the Key Figure section. Open the dimensions and find the char for which you created this attribute. Open up the attributes under it and you should find the KF. If you need to use this KF value in a calculation, then you will need to create a formula variable to pull in its value.
    Hope this helps...

the problem I have since I upgraded to Mavericks version 10.9.1
The problem appears only with Mail not with other programs, not even with my browser.
When I try to zoom the text of an e-mail I received or sent , I can no longer use the keys Command + to enlarge the text, although I can reduce it with Command -.
As I have a problem with my eyes, This is a serious matter for me.
When I write an e-mail, if I select text and press Command +, it just displaces the text to the right.
Now, my husband has a USB keyboard. If he connects it to my computer, his regular Command + does not work either, but  he uses the extended keyboard, then it works. Unfortunately, he needs it for a musical application which does not work with a wireless keyboard.

Firefox 3.6.4 and 3.6.6 use a process called, "plugin-container.exe" which was using up most of my CPU when I opened up multiple tabs that contained Adobe Flash files, and caused Firefox to lock up.
My solution was to use Firefox 3.5.10 which you can get from the Mozilla website at [http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html]
I am using Adobe Flash 10.1.53.64 without any problem in this version of Firefox. Check the release notes, I believe it contains all the latest security fixes in "Firefox 3.6.4".
Hopefully, they will fix Firefox 3.6 in the next version (e.g. Firefox 3.6.7), until then you should probably use "Firefox 3.5.10".

Your key cannot work in CC, it's newer version, and would require a new purchase.

  • Is there a key command for ejecting a dvd or cd from a firewire dvd drive?

I have looked in the chats with no luck. I have two optical drives connected to my G5 powermac one internal and one firewire, and can't remember
the key command to eject a disc from the external one without dragging it to the trash. I know I used to do that it. option / eject button/ or control/ eject but that does not work. I know you can click on the disc icon then do command/e. But I think there is a way to eject it with a key command and not have to click on the disc first. In other words when you hit the keyboards eject button you can eject the disc in the internal super drive with one push of the keyboards eject button. I want to be able to do that with my external dvd drive.
    Any clue?
    Thanks.

hmm, it might not be possible without some third party hack.
    Try the following link:
    http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050520155515566
You'll need to paste the provided script into Script Editor, save it as an application and bind a keyboard shortcut to it using one of many many application launchers like Quciksilver, Butler, Quickeys, ikeys or Spark (suggested by the above link).
    sorry that script is outdated.
    here is the correct one:
    property drawerstatus : true
    if drawerstatus is true then
do shell script "drutil -drive external tray eject"
    else
do shell script "drutil -drive external tray close"
    end if
    set drawerstatus to not drawerstatus

  • Option key not giving me any drives to boot from

    Hello,
I have just installed Win 8.1 via Boot Camp on my Mac Pro (mid-2010) using OSX10.9. I was under the impression that on restarting if I pressed the option key, then I would get all available drives and then be able to choose which one to boot from but in my case, not so. Rebooted and the option key is recognised; I get a blank screen (as I would expect) and a cursor which is controllable but then no drive options appear.
I have three possible boot disks: a Win8.1 partition and a 10.9 partition on on internal HD plus a 10.9 on a Sonnet Tempo SSD plugged into my PCIe slot. I am wondering if the Tempo is the issue and Boot Camp does not like it (is it Boot Camp that controls the option key restart process?). Before I start pulling the Mac Pro apart, I was hoping to get some advice please.
Any ideas what could be wrong please? Thank you.

No, it won't show up in Disk Utility, but have a look at the screen shot. Straight off your hard disk (if you're on Lion this will be at the BOTTOM of your sidebar pane in Finder). If you have the folder marked in yellow and the folder marked in purple  called rEFItBlesser please TRASH both.
Be CLEAR: do not remove the Library folder or the StartupItems folder (both marked in purple, too). Remove only the rEFItBlesser folder at the end of the path. You can (and should) remove the whole of the efi Folder (in yellow).
    Then restart.

  • Is there a schematic which shows what the keys are on a mac book pro.

I have not used a mac laptop for a number of years. I have been using windows stuff and have got used to thier shortcuts etc. I require a schematic that shows what the basic keys are and what combinations are for the shortcuts for basic stuff ie word processing, web use etc. there are various differences in the layout from the US to the UK. This has probably been asked before so there are bound to be some simplified diagrams with all the details to keep me happy.

  • What is the key command for locating a bar and beat

I record myself and clients who want to continually locate and start playing at different bars and beats very quickly so I can punch them in to record.  In Digital Performer I use the period key to type in the bar and beat and in Pro Tools I use the equal sign.  Maybe I'm asking the wrong key commands question but I can't find the locate bar and beat command in Logic 9.  I know it's probably the most simple thing, but I can't waste any more time looking for such a basic operation.  Seems like it should be easier to find the command.

  • Command to show which calls are using xcode resource

I can see on the gateway that transcoding resources are being used with the command "show dspfarm all". Now I would like to find out any identifying information about the calls needing transcoding, so I can figure out why they need it.
Is there any command on a voice gateway which shows me any information (phone number for example) about the call being transcoded. Or will I have to dig through the CUCM traces?

you can use "show call active voice" command. It gives you detailed information per leg basis.
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/voice/voice-quality/40309-show-call-act-voice.html
transcoders will be used when there is codec mismatch on the call. With the above command, you can check what is codec used in the Inbound Leg/Outbound Leg and which dial-peer it is matched and so on.
