Whats the latest on PreEl8 and windows 7 64 bit? will it work or not?

i am still using PeEl3 on my win Xp machine but would love to use my win7 64 bit for video editing. will PeEl 8 work on a win 7 64 bit machine. all i see in the forums are nothing but crashes and problems. are any of these issues fixed or not? i hear that the Sony Vegas Studio works well on win7 64 bit but i don't really want to learn an new program if i don't have to. i love PreEl3 but it is getting old and slow on the win XP machine. I have an i5 quad core processor and 4gigs of RAM and a nVidia GeForce 7600GT display driver. i have seen that there were issues with nVidia dispaly cards. is that issue resolved do you know? i could get a different display card if needed if that would make this work.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend Premiere Elements 8 on Windows 7 64-bit at this time.
The situation is getting better, as drivers are getting updated by third-party hardware providers. But it's still not a terribly happy marriage.

Making sure everything is allowed through firewall
Rebooting phone/laptop/router
Disabling ipv6
Disabling all networks except the one curently on
Re-installing iTunes
Restoring iPhone
No luck with any of those unfortunately so i just thought i'd see if anyone else is still without wifi sync after trying those as well and if you ever found a fix, thanks.

I just wanted to leave a note that it's working now. I'm not sure if it was the latest iTunes update that got it working or that i decided to start a new library instead of using the one i had backed up on Windows 8 (it didn't occur to me to check using the old library when i re-installed iTunes). But if anyone is having this problem, it might be worth trying again with a new installation of iTunes to see if the latest update works for you, and if not, try using a fresh library instead of a backup (by fresh library i mean discard your old library completely and start a new library, not just restore as new iPhone, a whole new library).

ITunes and Windows 7 64 bit doesn't work together?

Running Windows 7 64 bit, iTunes is reporting it is latest and greatest, as is iPod touch. When I tried to move some songs I purchased today to my iPod via iTunes, my system crashed. Tried a few times and it kept crashing. It would transfer 1 maybe 2 songs then crash. I've not installed anything new, nor have I had this problem in the past and the crashes only occur when transferring music. Anyway, after the last crash I was checking my version on iPod touch and noticed it says I have only 2 gig left on space. Yet when I go to my Music I only have 3 songs. In addition, when I plug my ipod into my computer, iTunes sees all my old music from the iPod (listed under devices) AND it will play those songs. From my iPod those songs do not seem to exist but are still taking up space. I am in the process of restoring my iPod but I am curious if anybody has had the same issue, if so what was your resolution... as well as any suggestions. After restoring my iPod I had more issues. I installed iTunes to my XP machine, authorized it and hooked up my iPod and everything is syncing fine now. Seems to be just a problem with my Windows 7 machine. Any word as to when this is going to be fixed? My XP machine is not my preferred machine to keep my music on as it is my work PC.

I am ready to throw my computer out the window! I loaded the latest safari to and now at random pages will freeze. I can see what is going on, but cannot type anywhere! I have to shut down safari and go back in to even attempt to do anything. Please help!

Please help! I updated safari and yes it is an older desktop, but now all of the sudden tabs I have open will freeze on me. I can see what is going on, but am unable to type anywhere on the page! I have to shut down safari and then open up a whole new window to even attempt to get it to stop! It is driving me insane not to mention I need my desktop to work properly. I will dissent. For a one time scan you could run Sophos. It will probably only pick up something meant for Windows, if at all, and it may throw a false positive at you, so don't be in a hurry to delete anything. I see you're running 10.8, which has some built in protection, but since it's an '09, you probably migrated stuff over from an earlier OS or Mac and it's also possible you weren't (or haven't been) observing safe browsing techniques, so it may find something genuine.

And don't let any A-V allow you to become complacent. It's only going to find something already catalogued, but it won't find any brand new threats.
Also, make sure you do not run Java (not JavaScript) in the browser. (Or just don't install the plugin, to begin with.) That would be asking for big trouble. Java is buggy and relentlessly exploited by malware.
Also, pay attention to updates in all your most used applications, Flash included.

If they are synced to iCloud and appear on icloud.com, they will reappear on your phone when you sign back into your account. As a precaution, you could use an app like My Contacts Backup to back them up before you restore if you wish. I would also recommend as a precaution that you import your camera roll photos and videos to your computer before restoring, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

I was in your same situation with 14 downloads and 14 attempts.
You have to make sure that your Mac is booting into 64 bit mode. You can make sure of this by going into System Preferences and scrolling down to 'Software' and making sure that you are booding with 64 bit Kexts.
If not, restart while holding the 6 and 4 keys down until you see the spinning gear wheel and try installng again.
BUT, what I also did was to go into Applications, click on the Lion installer, Get Info, and give yourself custom priviliges to Read And Write.
I did this simultaneously, and I don't know what function did it, but it worked for me, with no further downloads of the installer.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes first.
