I was wondering what the slowest MAC out there is that can run Creative Cloud?

On the new install with a default Logic Project, kernal_task (activity monitor) shows 600% CPU usage when ideling (no audio or midi playing.
Logic using 600% or total CPU at 600%?
If it's total CPU usage and not Logic itself.. check for a runaway mdworker routine... caused by a spotlight bug thats been longstanding and never totally fixed... Resolve by stopping the MDworker routine and then exclude all drives from spotlight.. and add back in just the system drive. Wait a couple of hours for spotlight to properly reindex the system drive and then test with Logic to see if CPU usage drops down to normal levels...
If it's Logic that is using 600% then something very weird is going on that is specific to your system or install as that simply isn't normal behaviour even with using just the internal hardware and CoreAudio.

I just got a new iphone 5c this is my first smart phone. I have an Ipad so thought it would be easy.
I downloaded the new software don't know if this changed anything. I have only had phone for 4 days
but now the light won't shut off. I have to turn off the phone for it to go out. I did the holding down home
button and start button till apple shows up. I checked to make sure the LED flash for alerts button was off.
I don't know what else to do. Anyone out there have the same problem and have found an answer.

After powering the iPhone off and on, the light goes out but turns back on randomly or immediately after powering the iPhone on?
Since nothing else you have tried has resolved it, try restoring the iPhone with iTunes from the iPhone's backup first.
If no change after that, try restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup.
If no change after that, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
Call AppleCare or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

Use the Activity Monitor to force quit the loginwindow process. Save all open documents before doing this; there won't be any further confirmation prompts.

I had to replace my PC & do not have a backup for my phone. I have copied photos to flashdrive to put on new one, but not sure what to do about contacts. I have looked around the discussions & did the transfer purchases from iphone, so hopefully that will take care of things bought on the phone. Someone discussed how to create a backup, by right clicking under device. If I do this to my phone before I sync with the new computer, will I be able to create a backup that I can use to salvage all the info on my phone that I can't drag & store on my own? Or will this delete all of my phone information, just like syncing with the new computer will? I appreciate all of the anticipated help, this is not my forte!

Okay! I have been dipping in the pool a toe at a time. I backed up the phone, never could find it in my files, but whatever. I synced notes, calendar & contacts, one at a time & everything copied to my PC. Now, I have to move on to the real world & get things done. But will attempt later to salvage music & ringtones. If you have any advice.....

The highest OS X that a Core Duo can run is Snow Leopard 10.6

Is there anybody out there that can answer the question about the backup on the external hard drive?

I need some help please. I have been using an external hard drive to keep my itunes on because the file was so big. I understand that Itunes backs up all of the text, photos, contacts, ect.. everytime you sync your phone. Is this where itunes is storing all this information and if so how do I find it?

I agree that the back up file is big and the file you saved was your iTunes Library (%USERPROFILE%\Music\iTunes) but, your iTunes saves your backup data in a different location.
if you are on Windows XP: %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
if you are on Windows Vista/7: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup
so i suggest you also back up those folder(s) in your computer to your external hard drive.(I recommend that you backup the iTunes & MobileSync folder found in AppData as you may need if in the future.)
as for the iTunes Folder found in Music/My Music folder, that is your iTunes library and you should also backup that folder so that in the future, if anything happens to your computer, you will be able to still sync you iDevice on another computer with the same library.
Note: In the Backup Folder, there will be a folder with a very long name. If you have several iDevices backed up, you will find it useful to know that each iDevice has a Identifier (UDID) and that the long name of the folder is your iDevice Indentifier (UDID) and the "-" next to the UDID is the Date followed by the time.

the Date was 16/10/2010 (20101016)
and the Time was 22 Hours 29 Minutes 5 seconds (222905)

Aha! I have sorted it.
For those with similar problems, the solution is this:
Macintosh HD > Library > Audio > MIDI Drivers
Then delete DigiDioMidiDriver.plugin

Further, at this time, there is no known malware capable of infecting an up-to-date Mac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 or newer. Of course, physical access changes the rules. If your employer has had unsupervised physical access to your machine, they could have done anything.

People on older Macs are reporting very poor experiences with Yosemite. I have been recommending a minimum of 8 GB RAM and an SSD. If your machine is too old to support that, I strongly urge caution.
