its been going on a year now and apple has not sent any kind of important update soft ware.whats the deal??must be waiting to come out with something big so they can charge for it!!!

1) There have been many minor updates in the last year, plus the major 3.0 update last year.
2) 4.0 is coming out later this year (summer).
3) Apple has never charged iPhone users for software updates, nor will they charge for 4.0 if you own an iPhone 3G or 3GS.
4) Apple is not required to provide you with updates, nor do they have to give updates away for free.

    HP smart web printing is an application that only works with IE. In spite of what HP have told you, if they want their application to work with Firefox they will need to make a version for Firefox. It is not down to Mozilla to make a version of the HP software for Firefox.

    Why is apple not providing information on what the problem withe email is and what they are doing to fix, along with a time frame for fixing the problem.

    It was because the problem was major.  If you do not know tech, you should know that a two day outage usually indicates some type of virus, hack, or a bad software load that they had to unravel.  The common way to solve that is to rebuild servers and put back into service.  That takes time.
    Apple did not want to admit this problem.  My guess at this stange was that they loaded new software that might be associated with the new IOS and it crashed.  To reveal this would be to cast into doubt their future revenue.
    Either way.  Run do not walk away from Icloud products and services.  Apple has demonstrated they can not be a business partner.

    For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices. 
    That all works.
    It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
    I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.

  • I hope someone knows what the problem is here...

    As of recently my iTunes has been having some problems. I have about 10,000 songs on my iTunes and I have had no problems until the other night when I went to listen to a song (Slap Happy's "Riding Tigers") and it came up as Louden Wainwright's "Swimming Song" and therefore deleting the Slap Happy song. It has been doing this at random from artists as diverse as Mozart to Charlie Parker. I don't know what the problem is and I fear if I continue to explore it myself I may lose half my music library. Also, when I right click a song to "Find" the file it pops up as a completely different song/artist. I don't get it. Can anyone help?

    I'm sure with a collection that large you don't have to be told about proper back ups, it would be disastrous to lose all that music.
    The music is likely still there in iTunes Music but something is corrupting your library data file, the itl.
    What's running on your computer that could do this and did your computer come with any pre-installed media software, Sony Vaios are notorious for causing trouble with their included media management software, or have you installed any desktop search software?
    Lastly, run a malware scan.

    Can you please take a look at my TM Buddy log and opine on what the problem is?  I'm stuck in the "Preparing Backup" phase for what must be hours now.  My last successful backup was this morning at 7:16 am.  I did do a series of Software Update this morning, one of which, a security update I believe, required a restart.
    I'm confused as to what the issue is, and how to get everything back to "it just works".

    Time Machine can't read some data it needs from your backups (each of those date-stamps is one of your backups). 
    That's usually a problem with the drive itself, but could be the directory on it. First be sure all plugs are snug and secure, then see if you can repair it, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting. 
    If that doesn't help, post back with the results.  Also either tell us what kind of Mac you have, what version of OSX you're running, or post that to your Profile, so it's accessible.  
    This is unrelated to the original post here, so I'm going to ask the Hosts to split it off into a new thread.  Since you've posted in the Lion forum, I'll assume that's what you're running.  You should get a notice from them

    I'm guessing it's a compatibility problem similar to that that T-Mobile in the US has. I'm not familiar with chat-r wireless, but I'm guessing it's not a supported carrier for the iPhone. If they can't tell you how to fix it, I'm guessing it's just plain not going to work.

    The apps were purchased by another user with a different Apple ID. You will have to erase them and repurchase them using your Apple ID.

    This is an indication that Lightroom is not connected to your subscription. Verify that your are logged into the Creative Cloud desktop app, or try logging out and back in again to refresh your subscription information: Sign out, Sign in | Creative Cloud Desktop app.
    Also, verify that your student subscription is still current and active.

  • I am a PC user using 3 PCs w/ iTunes Match. 2 of my PCs sync fine, but my new PC (used to remove duplicates, cover art, update playlists) does not sync with Match. Whats the problem?

    So, to begin I own 3 PCs and the latest iPad/iPhone running iTunes on all 3 PCs. For simplicity, I will refer to the PCs as old, laptop, and new.
    My laptop was my primary PC which i used to set up iTunes match. The old PC had all of my music files which have appeared to have been uploaded to Match. Note that I had already transferred most (if not all) of the music to my laptop but I enabled match so that I could download new files to my old PC. Note that I did quite a bit of cleaning, retagging, and ordering files and that I was told by Apple that Match would recognize duplicates, and as such, would not upload these files to the cloud in Match (this does not appear to be the case, however). My laptop PC (originally set up on Match) indicates there are alot of files in the clould (Match) to download. These seem to be duplicate files which were already cleaned on the Laptop and were uploaded on the old PC machine. Thus, it appears that Apples matching alogorythm is not strong enough to detect minor differences (i.e. cover art) in files and decides to upload them anyway (quite annonying if you ask me). 
    Now, to my problem; I purchased a new PC and have been removing the last duplicate songs, updating cover-art, playlists, among other things. My new PC (which I will refer to as "new") is not recognized by iTunes Match. I have tried uninstalling each app associated with iTunes, starting fresh with a new playlist and library to no avail.
    Has anyone else had this problem? Apple Care does not seem to have much knowledge about Match, which is a bit frustrating. All I wish to do is tell Match that my New PC should be the primary PC which will be used to deliver playlists, music, etc since the other 2 machines have many duplicates and the playlists have errors within them. I thought about these solutions (none of which are no appealing) 1) using the laptop as my primary iTunes Match PC since this was the PC Match was created on (this would require rebuilding playlists and removing a massive amount of duplicates, again), 2) creating a new iTunes Match account based on my New PC (basically starting over), 3) forgetting Match all together and going back to the old school store & sync.
    Anyone have better ideas or experiencing similar issues? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thx!

    After going by elimination to isolate if the problem was from (1) iTunes app, (2) my computer or (3) my old iPhone 4G, I figured out what my problem was.
    1) First I deleted & reinstalled iTunes on my Windows PC without succes, my playlist did not changed on my iPhone.
    2) I tested a successful #sync from the iMac at work.
    So my conclusion is: The hard drive on my Windows PC is full and that is affecting iTunes SYNC functionalities.
    So I'll do a back-up then run a "Clean Install" of my Windows OS, hoping that it will fix my SYNC problems.

    I'm working on an iMac OS 10.9.3. I downloaded Pages 5.2 and am using it to edit a long document with multiple images. Formatting disappears (style headings, for example), then when I try to move an image, the program tells me it can't autosave until problem is resolved. I don't know what the problem is or have any inking of how to resolve it. I can't move the document to another destination, or duplicate it. I've had multiple program crashes and am not getting anywhere.  Sure could use some help in salvaging this important document.

    That is not the full message, and what does it say exactly?
    What exactly are you intending to do with this file?
    If you are going to take it to a commercial (digital or offset?) printer, how do you propose doing that? In what format? What output are you aiming at? Have you actually spoken to a printer about what you are putting together?
    If alarm bells are not ringing for you yet, I am not sure what it is going to take to alert you to the mine fields you have just entered.

    It may well be a driver issue but considering the loading: Xorg trying to load different drivers is somewhat normal. @cafe you can see that these are autoconfigured by X above the loading in the log:
