  • Need help with iphone battery charging please

    hey all,
i have a problem with charging iphone battery,
i´ve had the phone for 8months now with no problems at all,
yesterday i used it as a modem for connecting to the internet and it worked just fine but the battery died so quick and now it wont charge at all
i used both charge connector and USB drive in the computer - nothing works, i already tried resseting it several times - didnt work either, i also tried plugging in a different cable - thta didnt help either so its basically turned into a brick, i noticed tho when i try to restart it there´s a couple wierd lines on my display but then it doesnt turn on or anything, it goes back to a black screen with battery picture and one red line indicating i need to charge it...
i tried to charge it overnight but the red line on the battery pic doesnt move or anything, there´s no sign of it charging at all and it doesnt even want to sync with the computer, i dont know what else to try
    please help someone
    thankyou

The iPhone includes a one year warranty.
If you are in a country where Apple provides direct support and has an Apple store, you can contact Apple or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.
If you live an a country where Apple doesn't provide direct support - support for the iPhone is handled by the official carrier for the iPhone, contact your carrier.

  • Whats with iPhone requiring a 1 ?

I have had a phone number in my contacts for nearly a year now on this phone. Its an 800 number. As everyone knows, cell phones don't use the "1" before area code and number anymore. That is only needed for archaic landlines. But this number has been in my phone as (800) XXX-XXXX for nearly a year. Just today out of thin air, when I dial via Contacts, it gives me a jingle and then "Were sorry, your call cannot be completed as dialed". I tried 10 times. No luck. In fact, I called another number out of state - a 619 number and an 858 number and it worked fine. No leading "1". But still the 800 suddenly was not working. So I added a 1 before it. It worked.
When you add a new contact to your phone, it also puts a 1 before it.
Whats with the iPhone requiring a 1? Why did my phone suddenly change to where I cant dial the 800 number without a 1?
    Weird...

Both those area codes are not out-of-state; they're San Diego, California. So you were calling IN-state. Maybe you meant you were calling out of your area code.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:

  • Having trouble with iphone battery life ?

I bought the phone via applestore.com was delivered to my singapore address. The phone battery life is minimal does not hold for more than few hours and am anbale to reset or install any softwares as per battery life. If you could kindly direct as to wehre i can take the phone is singapore to claim warranty as am having trouble contatctin the apple support numbers.
    Thanks
    Munshid

No, no trouble really. Although I am the third owner of this 3gs, I find the battery pretty hard to kill. I think all you people with lag and battery drain problems have one or more rogue processes running. Maybe one of the various system info apps from the app store could reveal if this is the case.
Otherwise, try a restore or a restore as new.

  • What is the battery average of the iPhone 4S running with the 5.1 IOS ?

So... what is the battery average of the iPhone 4S running with the 5.1 IOS ?

I don't spend time worrying about my "average" battery life. To figure that out, I'd need to keep track of exactly how long it took my battery to run down. I'd need to run the battery down every time. I'd need to do this for weeks to get any valid data. I have a life. I charge my phone at night and take it off in the morning. If I need or get the chance to charge it some other time, I do.

  • My iPhone 3GS running iOS 6 shuts off with 60% battery. Do any of you know any fixes, or at least what might be causing this?

I'm not sure if the problem has to do with iOS 6, but the problem started around the time I upgraded to it. I was playing Infinity Blade II when my iPhone shut off on me. I tried restarting the phone but once the lock screen showed (The battery was also shown to have a 64% charge), it quickly shut off again until I hooked the phone on the charger. This time the phone showed that it had a low battery and displayed the screen showing the empty battery, but then after a minute, the phone's lock screen appeared again with a 64% charge again. This keeps happening when ANY application is running when the phone is near 68%. The only time I've gone below that is when the phone was left overnight on standby. I have no idea what's going on or what's causing this. I could really use some help.
Also I've already restored my phone, and the problem still persists.

    Chris,
Definitely sounds like the battery controller is, at the minimum, out of synch with the battery itself. This can happen from with this type of battery.
But considering the age of the phone, I'd say it is more likely time to replace a nearly bad battery.
At least do this. Run the phone until the battery dies.
Power it up, and run it until it dies again.
If the battery is truly dead, upon power up you should get a large red dead battery symbol in the screen.
At this point plug it in to charge. DO NOT USE IT. Allow it to charge to 100%. This will re-calibrate the battery.
If it does not help, you should replace the battery.

I couldn't find the edit button on my original post so I am posting an update here.
I have gone through more apps and have had good luck on all but one more.  And it's not that the app doesn't work, I am talking about the Yahoo Weather app, It works fine, but when you swipe between cities the screen lags a bit and it sometimes doesn't move between pages the way it should.  On iOS 7.1.2 it was smooth as butter but on iOS 8.0, not so much.  I will post a note in the app store to let them know.  I really like the Yahoo app better than the new stock app.
I have been going through my games and they all work fine. Angry Birds (Original and Stella), Canabalt, Minecraft, Bejeweled 2, Silly Walks, PopWords, Doodle Jump, Deep Green all seem to work just fine.
Starbucks app works as it should.
I will stop back again next week after I have had the weekend to play with it in detail and post my thoughts again.

  • What happens if i plug a charger into an iPhone with no battery in it?

i have a 1st gen iPhone that i bought cheap on ebay as it has no battery in it. i am planning on fixing it but i wanted to check out it worked first. i know some phones can work off the mains if theyre plugged in with no battery but these are usually phones with user removable batteries. i dont wanna fry the motherboard or anything because a new one is really expensive so im asking first.

  • My iphone 4s only charges to 96%  Is there a problem with my battery

Is there a known problem with the battery life of the iPhone 4S?  I only have my phone a few weeks and the battery life is very poor.  I've made sure that there aren't lots of things running at the same time (and I'm not using iCloud), but need to charge my phone every night which I never had to do with my old iPhone 3.  In addition I have noticed that my iPhone never charges 100%, only 96%, I've tried discharging the battery totally and then recharging the phone just in case it's a calibration issue.  Should I bring the phone back to have the battery replaced?

From the Apple site about the iPad battery ...
    Use Your iPad Regularly
For proper reporting of the battery’s state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down).
    Here is the article.
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/ipad.html
If you are getting around 10 hours of use out of the battery you are probably fine at 98% and it may just be that the battery needs to be calibrated in order to see the full 100% on the indicator. Try the charge cycle and see what happens.
