Whats wrong with this applet TAG

Hi,
Any ideas why this tag:
<APPLET
codebase="/applet"
archive="JavaLibrary1.jar"
code="org.gregnet.NewJApplet.class"
width=350 height=200>
</APPLET>
results my web server is giving an error indicating it can't find anything at: "/applet/org/gregnet/NewJApplet.class"?? It's kind of like the ARCHIVE parameter it's being recognised? My web server I assume should only see the applet calling into the "http://<<domain>>/applet/JavaLibrary1.jar" address based on my applet tag (i.e. the code parameter should be used to form part of the HTTP request path I assume)
Any ideas?

Try the applet in Appleteer. See if that explains things better.

  • What's wrong with old applet tag?

    Hi there,
    What is wrong with old <applet> tag? It will stop displaying java applet in the new browsers? What do we gain by using <embed>?
    Thanks.
    Mike

    The applet element was deprecated in HTML 4.01 but still works. Continue to use it to display AWT applets in NE else if using SWING applets must to use EMBED. See Java documentation for details, in special the OBJECT tag chapter..better reading about HTML converter.

    First...Stop screaming. It's rude.
    Next...there are some minor problems with your feed. "Drum n Bass" is not a iTunes category. Stick with <itunes:category text="Music" /> remove the others.
    Not required, but recommend to add an <itunes:explicit> tag with a Y or N depending on what suits your podcast. The iTunes staff will remove your feed if it isn't tagged properly.
    MP3 audio files should have a type="audio/mpeg".
    Keep the Podcast spec handy...the categories and other info listed in the spec.
    Test your feed with http://www.feedvalidator.org it will point out problems with your feed.
    The bigger problems stem from your podcast enclosure, specifically the URL.
    The URL you have listed to the podcast mp3 apparently has changed so iTunes can't download the file. It also appears that you are using a "free download" kind of service that uses web page based downloads, which might account for why the URL keeps changing. Don't think that iTunes will be able to properly download the file.

  • What wrong with this?

    I have a video that has sound, I brought it into afteraffects, made a composition and made some changes. I exported the composition (rendered it) for quick time to edit in photoshop - the video is about 7 minutes.
    Playing the video there is no sound....why?
    Bringing the video into photoshop for editing with content aware fill creates 500+ frames......is that normal?
    also whats the easiest way to move between aftereffects and photoshop in terms of editing frames? can I make changes in photoshop and watch it update in after effects?

    What wrong with this?
    Everything! Sorry, it's simply the most ill-conceived workflow I could imagine.
    Playing the video there is no sound....why?
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/426347?tstart=0
    Bringing the video into photoshop for editing with content aware fill creates 500+ frames......is that normal?
    Yes. All video editing in PS is limited to 500 or 1000 frames, repsectively. There is no way to extend that range. Read the PS help!
    also whats the easiest way to move between aftereffects and photoshop in terms of editing frames?
    You don't. What you have in mind won't work, anyways. Content Aware Fill only works per frame and has no temporal stabilization, so each frame will have a different pattern and the resulting animation would flicker and wobble.
    can I make changes in photoshop and watch it update in after effects?
    That's what use File --> Reload Footage for or simply close and reopen the project.

    Thank you. How do i amend this? I have defined value1though.Yes, you did - but after the call to addFocusListener(...). It needs to be before it.
    BTW, you did the same thing with "value2.addFocusListener(this)" and "sum.setEditable(true)" on the next two lines. You're attempting to call a method on an object that doesn't exist yet (i.e., you haven't called new yet).

    Hi Alex,
    Subquery factoring a.k.a. the with-clause should be possible on 9.2:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/server.920/a96540/statements_103a.htm#2075888
    (used it myself as well on 9.2)
    @OP
    I recall having problems myself using PL/SQL Developer and trying to get the with clause to work on 9.2 some years ago.
    A workaround might be to create a view based on the query.
    Also, your error message is "ORA-00972: identifier is too long"...
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14219/e900.htm#sthref419
    Can't test things currently, no 9.2 available at the moment, but perhaps tomorrow I'll have a chance.

    Well, I did not realize column with QTY in the name is stored as string. Then your issue is values stored in cr.rslt_qty - at least one is not numeric. Keep in mind balnk string will fail:
    SQL> select round(' ') from dual

  • How to write to csv file - Whats wrong with this???

    Hi ALL,
    I created a view that does all sorts of calculations, now I need to write the output in csv file. How do I do this thru a procedure? Sorry I've never had to create a csv file before and this is my first time.
    Thanks!

    }

    same... i am not very experienced, and try and uses this as training... but as new to java programming i could still mention about 5 things that might be wrong with this code... so a deeper explanation would be nice...
    while(true) { } for example seems like a nice way to make infinite loop that can suck your memory out of your computer pretty fast :-) newb

  • What is wrong with this applet?

    Hi,
    I can't get this applet to work when embedded in the browser. It gives no errors... just does nothing. It works alright in the appletviewer though.
    This is the code
    import java.awt.*;
    public class MainApplet extends DoubleBufferApplet {
        private Image[] images;
        private ImagePaths imagePaths;
        private String[] paths;
        private int appletWidth;
        public void init() {
            imagePaths = new ImagePaths();
            paths = imagePaths.getPaths(); //get image urls from a mysql database
            appletWidth = (int) this.getSize().getWidth();
            images = new Image[paths.length];
            for (int i = 0; i < paths.length; i++){
                images[i] = this.getImage(getDocumentBase(),paths);
    public void paint(Graphics g){
    g.setColor(Color.BLACK);
    g.fillRect(0, 0, appletWidth, 100);
    int length = (images.length * 100);
    do{
    for (int j = appletWidth; j > 0-length; j--){
    for (int i = 0; i < images.length; i++){
    if (j < appletWidth){
    g.drawImage(images[i], j+(i*100), 20, this);
    try{
    Thread.sleep(5);
    } catch (InterruptedException e){
    } while (true);
    I use this HTML<HTML>
    <HEAD>
    <TITLE>Image Display</TITLE>
    </HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <applet codebase="imagedisplay/"
    code="MainApplet.class" width="500" height="140"

    Your help is much appreciated.

    Well, then you should be much more explicit what you have done when you post. That way we won't waste time covering things that seem obvious to you, but, trust me, they're not obvious to everybody. On this particular forum, asking people to check the Java console leads to results about two thirds of the time. A lot of people out there don't seem to know that the Java console exists.
    If you're getting no errors in the console, then either (1) the bug is such that it doesn't produce any error messages (e.g., there's an unterminated loop), (2) there are error messages (e.g., an exception thrown) but the applet is catching them silently, or (3) maybe it is producing uncaught error messages, but you're not looking in the right place to see them. Considering that your applet subclasses another, it's possible that the superclass is the culprit. I'd suggest, as a first step, adding debugging statements to your code just to confirm that it's loading and that something can appear in the console.

  • Cant figure out whats wrong with my applet, help pls??

    this applet checks a string against one in a database then if passwords match, a new url is opened. the applet loads in webpage with no problems. it just doesnt seem to work. have granted full access to code base in policy file.
    heres the code:

    the whole thing will be running on the same server
    using IIS over a LANYou don't connect to a local file system thru an applet without a signed applet. Period.
