Whatsapp doesn't receive messages instantly

Hello,
Recently, my friend's iPhone started to show problems within Whatsapp, not receiving messages even when she has opened the app to check out new messages. For example, when I send her a message at 10 a.m, she will not receive it even when she has opened the app. Then the app suddenly did receive the message at 2:30 p.m. The delay is kind of annoying as it's an instant messaging service and it just doesn't do its work properly.
The problems started to occur after she installed the new update. She has tried to reinstall the app, hoping to resolve the problem but that didn't work. I've tried to search for a solution on the internet, but most of them are describing problems about Notification problems, but not the messages themself. Her iPhone 4 is running on iOS5. My question is, have some of you encountered these problems as well, and if so, I would like to know how I can help her solve this problem.
I'll provide more specific information if needed, as I'm not sure for which part I will have to search right now.
Notable information
- this occurs mostly before 3pm, after this time, it seemed to be okay
- App has been reinstalled to try to solve the problem
- Firmware: iOS 5.0.0
- Happens on both Wifi and Cellular network
Hope you guys will have an answer for this problem!

  • IPod doesn't receive  messages when turned off

I Own a 32gb 5th generation iPod. The version is  iOS 7.1.2   In the past month whenever I turn my iPod off it doesn't receive messages that have been sent to me. Sometimes when I turn it on I will get messages that weren't delivered that day, it will always be from exactly 6 days ago. I'm not really sure what could be causing it and I have not changed anything that would have caused it that I know of. The only way that this doesn't happen is if I leave my iPod on 24/7.

Are you powering the iPod off (Slide to Power off)?
Or are you letting the iPod sleep?
When powered off it can't receive anything.

  • TS2755 iPhone 5 on ios7 doesn't receive messages from other iPhones when data is turned off

My iPhone 5 doesn't receive iMessages or texts from other iPhones when my data is turned off, obviously I do not expect to receive iMessages but I also cannot receive text messages. Text messages can be sent but not received. Text messaging to and from people with androids and blackberries is fine.

That is because iPhone users would be sending you iMessages. The only time you would receive them as a text is if they have theirs turned off, or it is set to send an SMS if iMessage fails. At some point you had iMessages activated, and if so, that is how the iDevices will send to you.

  • Upgraded to Yosemite, now mail doesn't receive messages

Recently upgraded to Yosemite on my late 2011 MBPro, now I can not receive messages through mail. I can send messages though. I also have outlook for Mac which is functioning properly.

Found what seems to be a fix.
    Go: Mail>Preferences>Accounts
Uncheck "automatically detect and maintain account settings"
    Check "allow insecure authentication"
Probably not the most secure fix, but all my selfies are already on the cloud anyway lol.

  • HT4436 My daughter has an iPod touch which has been set up under my apple ID. I want to change this so that she doesn't receive messages and FaceTime calls from my fiends and vice versa. I have set her up an apple ID with iCloud but the settings still sho

I need help setting up my daughters iPod. She has been using her iPod touch for 6 months using my ID. This caused a problem now that she is a bit more savvy and has learnt to message and FaceTime. I get her calls and she gets mine. I have set her up her own ID with iCloud but when I go to settings for FaceTime and messaging I can't erase my ID. So the problem is not really solved. She will have to access iTunes through me as she doesn't know my password and any games etc have to pass the mummy test. Can anyone help?

Thanks.  I have my iPad on my lap and her iPod in my hand. We can FaceTime each other but it won't let either of us message each other. I know mine is activated as I use it frequently. I have activated hers as well. Maybe I will put it in the too hard basket for tonight, sleep on it and try again tomorrow.

  • IMessage doesn't receive messages when on airplane mode

Okay so here's the issue I have here, I'm using an iPod touch 4G that's running on iOS 6.1.6. I like to put my iPod on airplane mode when I'm not using it, so it's always on airplane mode at night. Usually, until last week, all messages sent to me on iMessage while I was on airplane mode would be received when I took my iPod off of airplane mode so that I could read them and reply. Since last week, I've run into a problem where I only receive the latest 3-4 messages sent to me on iMessage and none of them from earlier.Or I receive no messages at all, only to find out later that I have received a lot from friends. I know that this has to do with putting my iPod on airplane mode, I have reset all my network settings but the issue is still present. I'm confused as to why this problem has just popped up because I have done this for a really long time and no issues came up until just a week ago. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

  • MQSeries MDB doesn't received message in WLS7

    Hi,
Per JMSProviders.doc I have configured the Startup class and deployed the Simple MDB.
The MDB gets instantiated but the Messages are not read from the MQSeries Queue.
Why this might be happening and how should I go about debugging this.
    Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello,
I would suggest, if you haven't already, that you read thoroughly the documentation
    available at:
    http://dev2dev.bea.com/resourcelibrary/whitepapers.jsp?highlight=whitepapers
    (JMSProviders.pdf)
Also, try reading through previous problems/issues that people have experienced
when utilizing MQSeries and WebLogic by typing "MQSeries" or "MQ" in weblogic.developer.interest.ejb
    and weblogic.developer.interest.jms newsgroups. Good luck!
    Best regards,

  • Not Receiving Yahoo Instant Messages.

It started happening day before yesterday.  All of a sudden I stop receiving messages from the person I am talking to.  I have all of my service and coverage indicators so I am baffled as to why this is happening.  I rely on IM alot and its very frustrating.
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

I'm having the same issues. I can be having a conversation and then go idle for a period of time (say and hour or two) and then the person I was interacting with earlier tries to respond and it doesn't come through. I only know they responded when I sign into Yahoo Instant Messenger on my laptop later in the day and hit conversation history to see if they ever answered....which they had and it never came over on my blackberrry. I have rebooted, did the *228 business and checked my connections.  This started a few days ago for me as well.

  • If I am connected to Wifi and send an iMessage to a party that is not connected to the Internet then he doesn't receive the message. How do I force my iPhone to send an SMS instead?

If I am connected to Wifi and send an iMessage to a party that is not connected to the Internet then he doesn't receive the message. How do I force my iPhone to send an SMS instead?

It is an interesting option but I am not sure how it works. I disconnected the other party Wifi and 3G on the iPhone, iPad and computer. I sent the iMessage 15 minutes ago and it doesn't give the small foot print "delivered" but equally said I didn't get the RED exclamation mark on the right hand side of the message in BLUE. So we know that the message was sent but not delivered. I don't seem to have the option of sending by SMS when I tap on the BLUE message and hold.

  • My friend recently switched from iphone to blackberry, but my messages to her are still sent as imessage. how can i send it as a normal message? she doesn't receive any of my messages. her phone number is saved in my phone under the phone tab, not iphone.

Sounds like your friend didn't disable iMessage on his/her iphone before switching.  Have your friend do the following:
    Go to: https://supportprofile.apple.com/MySupportProfile.do
Log in if not already logged in.
    Click on "edit products"
Click on the "x" to the right of his/her old iPhone.
    Click "unregister"
This should unregister it with the iMessage server, which will allow you to send texts as normal SMS.
On your iPhone make sure you have Settings>Messages>Send As SMS set to ON.

  • Why does my mail doesn't receive all my messages?

I use my mail app (max OS X snow leopard) to check all my accounts (2 gmail, 1 hotmail & 2 private domains).
My private domain accounts don't receive all my messages, I can tell becasue in my domain settings all my mail is re-sent to another gmail account. There are many emails I can see in my "backup" gmail account that my mac mail doesn't receive.
I constantly have to check my gmail account to make sure there are no unattended messages that I haven't seen.

    Try a reset ..
    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • IChat can send messages but doesn't receive them(5.0.1)

Hello there. My iChat 5.0.1 doesn't allow me to receive messages from anyone but allows me to send to them. I've tried re-starts of the application and computer but to no avail. This problem just showed up recently and I had no problems after updating to 10.6.2.
Any help would be totally appreciated.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Have you changed you router or modem recently ?
iChat Loins by Default on port 5190 using the TCP Protocol
It also uses port 5190 on the UDP protocol for File Sending and Pics in Chats and some Group chats.
Some modems and router do not like this dual se of the port and it pays to log the Screen Name out and go to iChat > Preferences > Accounts > Server settings and change the port to 443
Also check in iChat Preferences > Alerts
Change the top drop down to Receive IMs and then check the Apple Script Option is not active and using Auto-Decline.
