WhatsApp for Asha 200
I used to love nokia and i used hate samsung but now i think i'm gonna go 2 the other side if you are not gonna help us... coz we are done with you people not givin us what we want... I have used nokia E63, nokia n900 and they both went off just like that, so i thought of tryn samthing cheap this time and i went for nokia ashaa 200... only to realise i cant wartch videos to make it worse No (whatsapp)...... we want to know what you are doin about that we want nokia ashaa to have whatsapp... coz i cant be patient anymore... i'm pisd to death... we want whatsapp or we sue nokia for evrything they have... coz you know the nokia asha's r not workin well and yet they are still on the market.... i want whatsapp for nokia ashaa 200 coz i'm not buyn another phone........ i'm angry....

1. You need to ask WhatsApp thru' THIS as it can only be answered by them being the developers...Nokia can't do anything about that if the developer do not want ..
2. Not all Asha devices are not compatible with the subject application as seen HERE
3. Sue Nokia ???? On what grounds ?

Why Asha 200 doesn't support WhatsApp?
Whatsapp is supported on x2 01 and x2 00 but asha 200 can not support whatsapp why?

So while it might be possible to install WhatsApp on Asha 200 using the direct download link from the thread Abi99 pointed out, If you end up doing that, don't be surprised to see more or less bugs.

The only limitation to using whatsapp on asha 200 is because of the background connect which is not available on this phone, i cant imagine how smaller phones like nokia 2700c can have background connect and asha 200 cant... plz guy the only way u can satisfy we ur customers is by updating a software that will enable background connect.

The issue of whatsapp on nokia asha 200,, really u can have whatsapp on ur asha 200 manually.. Follow the steps
find a person that his/her phone support whatsapp then, make sure the application ison his/her phone memory, then insert your memory card into the phone and copy the app to your memory card then insert it back to your asha 200 it will surely work 100%..... But the only prob is that whenever you hide the application,,it will automatically be disconnected from the internet and you wont be able to recieve messages until you open it again bcos nokia asha 200 does nt support connections in background (background connect). If you do not have Nokia Suite on your pc you can download it from here. Now open the Nokia Suite & click on the “green icon of arrow pointing downwards”.
If any updates are available they will be shown in ‘green’. If not you may reinstall the current version. Reinstall option is shown in ‘blue’. If no option to reinstall is shown, please wait for sometime it will become visible. Then the Nokia Suite will download the new software version of the phone. After it you will be prompted to take a complete back up of the device content. Please do not skip this step as reinstallation will erase all the personal data from the phone like contacts, messages, calendar entries etc.
Please note that if you have set a memory card password & you have forgotten its code then take a backup of the card data also as the card will be locked after update and can only be unlocked if you enter the correct code or by ways mentioned in this thread.
Also note that while updating the device ensure the following things-
The device is full charged.
The internet connection Is of good speed & has a backup in case of power loss.
The PC should also be connected to back up power source as if the process is interrupted the phone may go dead. More on update failure & its remedies here.
Please do not run any resource intensive programs in the background while updating as it may freeze the PC which in turn will lead to a dead device.
Ignore all the windows pop-up notifications about device being disconnected.DO NOT DISCONNECT THE PHONE UNTIL UPDATE IS COMPLETED.
It will be better if you disable security keyguard & PIN code request before proceeding with Update/Reinstallation.
If your phone shows test mode then do not panic & DO NOT REMOVE the cable, let the update process complete.
If any problem persists please visit the nearest authorised Nokia Care Centre.

Where is the so promised whatsapp for asha 501 .... you guys just bluffed during the launch of asha phone.... And now instead of giving whatsapp compatibility you are releasing new products on oct 22 ? this is funny. First concentrate on 501 matter and later on release new phones.

In Asha 200 we dont have choice to set different tones to each sim . Any ideas on that ?

As there are many dual sim phones in market which supports whatsapp, i want to give advice or suggestion to nokia developer community that they should make asha 200 compatible for whatsapp as in asha 201 in there next software update. It doesn't matter with single sim or dual sim. Nokia have got the best engineers and they must satisfy their customers and i request them to. I am waiting.
