When a search term is entered, then followed up in a drop-down box, once clicked nothing happens. Please help me!

For example, when I type an artist's name in the search bar, such as Drake, it'll say "2 Albums, 19 songs, Nothing Was The Same, Thank Me Later" etc. then once I click on any of them, it doesn't take me to that artist and just acts as if the search bar results are something that you can't click on.
Will I need to re-install iTunes and will this remove any of my music / downloaded music?

Reinstalling iTunes should not affect your library.
Try clicking the small magnifying glass in the search box and unticking the option to Search entire library. this will restore the previous function of the search feature which may work better for you. You might also find the newer version works better if you enable it again.

Delete abd re-enter your Facebook account information jnder the accounts tab in the iPhoto preferences

Thank you for your response. My operating system is XP. When I try to open a pfd document I just get a series of letters and symbols in a dialog box. The top of the box says "select the encoding that makes your document readable". I can choose Windows, MS-Dos, or other (there is a long list to choose from). None seem to make a difference. If I save the document to my desk top I can right click on it and choose an option "Open with AdobeReader 9" and it opens fine.

What operating system does your computer use? What happens when you attempt to open a PDF document rather than saving it first? Please include any/all error messages. Also, have you tried opening documents from other locations or just one in particular?

The homepage button has stopped on both my desktop and netbook browser, as about about a week ago. Once clicked, nothing happens. Yet all other browser buttons are working fine. Second, when I try to upload pics to blogger, it says "Server Error".
The server error message on blogger happened about the same time, and although there have been rare occasions where it worked, but mostly it doesn't. I've tried a couple of times every day, and it's only worked twice. But I am able to do it on other browsers, leading me to believe it's a firefox problem. (For the record, blogger seems to have recently updated their pic upload feature).

This usually happens if Spotlight is disabled on a drive. When you tried MacPilot, did it have an option to disable Spotlight? I haven't used the app, so don't know whether that is the case or not, but if it did and you inadvertantly, or even deliberately, disabled Spotlight then the Finder won't display anything but the most basic information about a file--thus you won't see dimensions or Last Opened, just size and dates created and modified.

somehow I must've clicked a button that took away my drop down box when I go to use my Google search so different sites that I go to a lot I would always just click it when the drop-down box came up I would click again and hit search and you would bring that page up but even if I go to a site once I leave that I try to click and make the drop-down box come up again with the new search and it nothing happens so the problem is I need my drop down box to come back up to all the places that I visit kind of like a history of like I said I would just click and it would come up by itself now the drop-down box won't come up anymore so I need somebody to tell me what to do to bring my drop-down box back also I am new to computers so I don't know a lot so don't be real technical thanks for the help merry Christmas from Joe

It's not a matter of me assuming to restore it, once the error comes up, the only next step I can do is to restore it. I can't access any of the iphones settings in itunes or anything, it's a mandatory restore. If I just cancel the sync (before restoring) and disconnect the phone, all my apps crash on opening: aka unusable phone. So I have literally no choice but to restore every time the error shows up if I want my phone to work.
I have no idea where I may have duplicate files as it doesn't tell me, so if that is the problem (which I don't think it is) then I don't know where I have to go to delete the duplicates.
And the duplicate file error still doesn't explain why leaving iTunes to restore the phone doesn't work and me having to drag the window around. I know it sounds utterly ridiculous, my friend didn't believe me when I told him either but then I showed him and he was as confused as I am. If I just leave the restore to do its own thing at it's own pace, it will loa maybe 20% then fail for whatever reason.

I have seen this problem has been asked about before. However not a single solution provided has worked for me. I have no restricted data or a battery app that's affected my syncing capabilities (or any program like that for that matter). I have tried the sync now button, I've hidden the synced tabs menu and dropped it back down, I've pulled down the synced tabs menu, I've started a new Firefox instance after completely shutting it down, as well as everything else that was suggested. I've used a search engine looking for a solution and have come up with nothing. I'm running Firefox on my laptop, Android phone, as well as my Android tablet. I'm using my laptop with opened tabs. The first time I synced Firefox it worked. Every time since then (I've tried like 100 times and that's not an exaggeration) it hasn't worked on either my phone or tablet. Could someone please help because I'm at my wits end and am considering going back to Chrome. For anyone who can help I sincerely thank you for your time and effort.

Two things that were not mentioned that might lead to
*Are you syncing active tabs on two devices?
*Is Auto-Sync selected on the mobile device in the Account Settings?

Sometimes your security software will block new programs from accessing the internet. Are you getting any alerts along those lines?
Sometimes Firefox will stall during startup and never display its window. In that case, you may need to manually "kill" the firefox.exe process using the Windows Task Manager before trying to start Firefox again.
You can display the Task Manager by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Esc. Windows 8.1 has a different display than Windows 7, so I have to go by memory. If you see a tab named Applications, check that one first. Then check Processes, and finally check Details. If you find Firefox or firefox.exe on any of those tabs, select it and End Process (or other action to shut it down).
After you are done with the Task Manager, try starting Firefox up again.

No, actually this is likely "Voiceover" got turned on by mistake.
It should be "reading back to you" what you selected (which is the highlighted box around the app)
Try triple-clicking the home button to turn Voiceover off.
If that doesn't work you're going to have to go into Settings to do it.
Tap the app so the box shows up around it- then double-tap the same app. It will then open. You have to use three fingers to swipe upward to get it to scroll down a page.

- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. The hotness suggests a hardware problem

V6 Magnifying glass search - drop down box

In versions prior to V6, I was able to search by: Artist, Song title, Group etc.. By placing the cursor over the magnifying glass search icon, a drop down box was available to provide these search filter selections. This function (i.e. the drop down box itself) does not work in V6. Anyone have a copy of V5 that I can go back to?

b noir, thanks for the reply. My searches originate in the "Music Store" page not the "Library" page. Here's an example of the functionality I lost. If you ONLY want songs with the word "RED" you now get songs with red, artists with red and albums with red. You cannot JUST get songs with the word red, you're forced to scroll through a lot of extra listings that you didn't ask for. It looks like Apple has decided to down grade the search function post version 4.9, so I'll ask if anyone has a V4.9 that I can go back to. Thanks for your help.

Can you access other apps? Can you acess the internet? Can you access applications that use internet besides facebook?

iTunes has various components bundled with it that it requires for general usage. I advise that we completely remove iTunes and all of these related components, verify that they have been removed, then reinstall. To do so, please follow the steps in this article:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

Note: it is important to remove the 7 components in order. Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
If the above does not resolve your issue, I recommend we reset the SC Info folder:

Hi I would like to know how to disable the drop down box which appears below the search box on the start page when I start to type in my search topic. If for example the first letter I type in is an S then it shows a list of previous searches of sites beginning with the letter S.

Welcome to the Support Communities! I'm not sure from your post what steps you have tried, but it sounds like you may need to use recovery mode to address the issue with your unresponsive iPod touch.
