When A Track Will Not Record?

Hey guys,
This is a strange fenomenon. Sometimes in the middle of recordings, a track just won't record anymore. I try to trace my steps back - but there doesn't seem to be a logical explaination. It's "armed" as usual. For example, I'm recording vocal takes, and creates one more "same" track to record one more. And suddenly - hitting the record button does noting. Is there any explaination?
P.S. If I try another track it works fine.

This is a common phenomenon with Logic. Although I don't have a specific answer for you, I'm pretty sure it results if you have "temporarily" selected another track on the arrange page, even if it's only for a brief moment. The problem is, this can happen so innocently and easily.
I hope this gets addressed in an update. It's far too easy to "break the link", and then when you do go into record... it doesn't.
For now, try to resist "clicking around" on the arrange page between takes. Have your tracks set up ahead of time.
Another habit I've gotten into is to remember to disengage the record button, and then re-engage it, before every take, and every punch... just in case. Since "engage record" is assignable as a key command, that's a simple enough thing to do.

Was transferring a client's DVD-R into my Adobe PE9 to do some editing requested by client.
The audio from the DVD was coming through clearly on my computer speakers but when I finished tranferring I stopped recording and discovered the video track was fine but there was no audio track.
Tried recording said DVD into some of my other files on PE9 but same thing.
Since posting my cry for help I uninstalled PE9 and reinstalled it.
This appears to have fixed the problem as I am now transferring client's DVD-R once again.
A quick check after a few minutes revealed the audio track is now being recorded with no problems!

Captivate will not record ALL screen movements

I have been using Camtashia and recently move to another
company where they want to start using Captivate. I just bought
Captiveate and I am getting very aggrevated! Captivate will not
record all my movements with the mouse or when a screen changes. It
appears that everything is driven by an actual mouse click. Only
when I move my mouse around and then click will it actuall record
the "action".
Please tell me there is a way for Captivate to record all
mouse movements, keystrokes, changes in applications just as I see
it when I am actually doing the recording.
I dont need all this fancy highlighting and project wizards,
I just simply want Captivate to record EXACTLY what I do and see
while I am recording.
PLEASE HELP!

No doubt you are frustrated if you are expecting Captivate to
behave like Camtasia. Yes, both create similar output, but both
accomplish it in entirely different ways.

Track Will Not Burn From i Tunes

- I have one track on an album in iTunes that will not burn to cd because it is not authorized. The rest of the album will burn fine. The track will not play on iTunes or my iPod.
- My computer is authorized and long has been.
- I did not buy the track from iTunes. I burned the entire album as one set from the original commercial 2-cd set.
- Unlike the rest of the tracks, the one in question says "unavailable" in the track time (length).
- OS X 10.8
I'd appreciate any help on this.

Whether your computer is authorized or not shouldn't have anything to do with being able to play your own music, added from a CD.
When you check the path Musuc > iTunes > iTunes Media > Music is the track you want showing up? You could try moving it to another folder, then re-importing it to iTunes.
You should also try opening it with another media player just to make sure the data hasn't been corrupted - though it's probably an iTunes problem.
The obvious other thing is to try and add the track directly from the CD if you have it around.

I have read your post on how the microphone on your notebook is enabled, but will not record any audio on Skype. I would be happy to assist you in this matter!
Are you able to record audio using a different program on your computer? Were you able to record audio from Skype in the past?
In the meantime, I recommend following the steps in this document on Resolving microphone problems (Windows 8). This should help enable the audio-in when using the microphone.
Additionally, I also suggest following this resource on Microphone Troubleshooter to ensure that your Skype software is communicating the audio being transmitted to your audio-in device.
Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, as well as the requested information above. I look forward to your reply!

You music etc should not be affected by problems with the iTunes program, nevertheless it is always a good idea to backup your data.
You haven't said if there was any error message when you tried to start iTunes. If there was one please give it in full.
Also check to see if QuickTime works, iTunes can not work without it. If QuickTime doesn't work, it has to be fixed before worrying about iTunes.
Then restart your PC and open your Task manger and select the Processes tab.
Try to start iTunes, does iTunes.exe appear on the processes tab? If so does it disappear again or remain although the programs does not open?

Ive got the same problem, just got my iphone unlocked, and they told me to sync it to itunes to get it permently unlocked, well everytime i plug my iphone in it says; it wont work as it needs up dating to 10.6.3, which i have already updated, but still doesnt work, so how can i get my phone unlocked?

ITunes 6 tracks will not play

Since upgrading to iTunes 6.0.1 I have not been able to play any tracks or CD tracks - the track name and other information appears at the top but the diamond will not move - you can advance the diamond but still the track will not play. Any clues? I did try to update 'Quicktime' too but it asks for registration information I don't have.

I feel such a fool for not checking this first off - but who knows it may help some one else!
While looking in "system preferences' I noticed that there was no 'output device' (even though the volume icon was showing). As my dear old cube uses a USB external amp and speakers a quick tweak of the plug and hey presto it reappeared in the 'system profiler' and guess what - iTunes plays!
Sorry once again for being stupid - by you never know it my just help some one else!

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help have your phone examined by an apple technician. Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support.

How certain are you the superdrive ONLY is at fault?
That depends on your skill level, if you grew up tearing things apart and putting them together, its absurd how easy it is.
For some however its too daunting. On a general skill level for the "average" person its about a 3 out of 10 in difficulty.
Can you order same? yes.

All installs and works fine except that it will not record with either Windows media center or HP quick Play.

It is possible that all there is not enough room on your line to grow the field. You can try a few things :
- Make the form width wider by dragging the right edge of the form or via the Form Setup dialog (File > Form Setup... and change the Form Width)
- You can make other field on the row narrower (if they are not already at their minimum width).
Each field type has a minimum width. What field type are you trying to make smaller?
For example : Text and Multiline can go down to a width of 30. Dropdown min width depends on the length of the long item in the dropdown list.

Does the track play correctly in Quicktime Player? If it does then it is an iTunes issue. If it doesn't then it is possible the file was not completely downloaded, or is corrupt.
Downloading (using iOS or computer) past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2519 - enabled with iTunes 10.3 and newer; not available in all countries; apps, books (not audiobooks), music, t.v. shows, and movies (some - not all studios have permitted this). Movies currently available in the USA only. Downloading previously purchased movies and TV shows requires iTunes 10.6 or later. Discontinued items not available. For items not included in the iCloud list (e.g., ringtones), or locations or computer systems where iCloud is not (yet?) available, you only get one download per fee paid.
If it can be downloaded again, delete the track from iTunes.
Select the store on the left side of iTunes.
Click on Purchased on the right side under Quick Links.
You can re-download your available previous purchases.

My MacBook Air keeps asking me for my yahoo password; which when correctly entered will not allow me into the account. iPad and iPhone both working on the same password/account.

I've got automatic downloads turned off and I tried signing out and in via the settings and still keeps asking me for an apple id.
It doesn't do it continuously, it'll just pop up randomly ... if the phone is just sitting there it may ask for my apple id and regardless of whether I press cancel or enter my password nothing happens .. it may be another 2mins, 5mins, 15mins but eventually it'll just randomly pop up and ask me again. It does accept my password though because I tried entering an incorrect password to see what happens and it gives me the error saying it's incorrect, so when I enter the correct one in the box disappears and it accepts it as I say, but only for so long before it pops up again.
