When accepting a meeting invitation, I get a completely different meeting

Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.1)
When I try to accept a meeting invitation, it gives me a meeting from over a year ago to accept.  This meeting has nothing at all to do with the current meeting or event, yet I constantly get it no matter which invite I open and accept.  It is infuriating.  I've deactivated the iCloud.  I've deleted all my calendars and put in new calendars.  No luck.  I get the same two meetings randomly when I accept an invite.  Doesn't matter if I've already accepted one of the two meetings, those are my only choices.
I have searched and searched and found nothing.
Please help!  My calendar is useless.  I may as well go back to stone tablets at this rate.  ;-)

I would love a solution, too. This issue came up as soon as I updated to the mobileme beta in october. First, all my "on my mac" calendars were deleted with years of needed historical data. Luckily I restored them via Time Machine backup. Then I talked in depth to multiple levels of AppleCare support and they were beyond perplexed. Any calendar invites I receive into iCal will automatically go into the first "on my mac" calendar, and cannot be moved to the mobileme calendars. The only bad solution is to "duplicate" the calendar event, and then move it to whatever calendar you want. Then delete the original event. Unfortunately, even if you select "delete and don't notify" the original event sender will receive a notification. I've also had problems with calendar invites in ical I accepted into mobileme syncing to my iphone and ipad in a format that does not allow me to edit.

what do you expect from this code out.print(lecture); ?
lecture is an Element, toString() is not implemented, so print correctly displays some fuzzy pointer information, nothing more...

  • Can mail indicate when a meeting invite conflicts with a pre-existing meeting?

I'd like to configure mail to indicate whether a meeting invite conflicts with something already on my calendar.  I'm trying to avoid jumping back and forth between mail and calendar when managing emailed meeting invites.

That's what my thoughts at first, but nothing changes in Outlook. I still use the same Outlook and so is my other clients. It's very rare that suddenly my company's Outlook program and about 20 of my clients' Outlook changes at the same time that causes the creation of the .ifb file instead of normal .ics or universal calendar invite.
Just for the heck of it, I re-installed Office in my 3 other laptops and sent test meeting invite and they all comes back as .ifb attachments.
I tried to open the .ifb files by double-clicking the file in Snow Leopard and point it to iCal and it didn't add the calendar invite.

  • How to avoid opening mail when accepting iCal event invitation

Can someone tell me how I can prevent Mail to send a reply when I accept an invitation in iCal?
    This is very irritating.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Pascal,
I wrote iCal Reply Checker to help with this issue. It only works with local calendars though.

  • Help when starting my ipad2 i just get screen flashing different colours but get sound of apps in background

have tried resetting and syncing several times, but its getting worse everyday

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after It shuts down, press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).
    No data will be lost.

  • Duplicate recipients in an updated meeting invite

    Hello,
I have a colleague who has a problem with meeting invites.
She has sent a meeting on behalf of her boss, to 3 external recipients.
When she updates that meeting, the recipients get duplicated. so in the 'To' field, the same person appears twice. so in this case, there's 3 persons so each name appears twice on the invite.
Does anyone know a reason for this please?

    Exchange 2007

    Thanks

    Hi,
There is a hotfix which fixed a duplicate attendees issue in Outlook 2010, you may have a try:

To get better user experience, it's recommended to install Office 2010 SP2 which provides the latest updates for Office 2010:

  • How to send an email from CRM that shows-up as Meeting invite?

    Hi,
I want to send an email invitation for a meeting to the contact such that it appears as a meeting invite on Outlook. How can this be achieved?
I know one way is to create an Appointment, sync it with Outlook, add attendees and send invite. But can we do this from within CRM?
We have a custom meeting entity and we can add our contacts and employees as attendees. But we want to send an email to all those attendees from within CRM such that it appears as a meeting invite/Appointment.
    Please advise.
    Thanks,
    Fahad Ali Shaikh

If you want to use meeting invites, it needs to be a meeting, not a custom entity.
You could write code to send an .ics file for the meeting for example, but the point of an Outlook meeting invite is that the organiser can track who has said they are or are not attending, or have not yet replied, for example.
Note that more recent versions of CRM *do* send invitations out for appointments created in CRM, depending on how you configure your synchonisation (eg using SSS they are automatically sent out).
    Hope this helps.

  • When I open an exported image after editing it, it is completely different than the image in Lightroom

I edit an image in Lightroom and happy with the results I export (save) onto my computer.  When I then open the image it looks completely different to the one I just edited and saved!  Very frustrating!  I did not take it in raw format,  I have taken all the photos already and cannot retake them. I am new to Lightroom, only on trial at the moment.
    Help much appreciated

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on eight different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
    - Did it ever work properly?
    - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.

  • Issues when accepting meeting invite received via exchange

    Hi,
My iphone (3G 3.0) is syncing with push via an exchange server. What I am finding out is that when I accept, tentatively accept, or decline a meeting invite, I also am doing the same "On Behlaf of" whoever is on either side of me in the meeting invite. I do not have any type of access to these people's email, calendars etc.
Anyone else having this issue? Anyway to resolve it?
    Thanks!

We're seeing the same thing. Using iphone 3gs with exchange activesync 2003 and outlook 2003 client.
Although after a lot of testing we've narrowed it down a little. It seems to accept on behalf of the the person that appears first alphabetically in the list of recipients, and stops there.
For instance, my name starts with a 'J' (Jason). So if there are others that were invited whose name starts with a 'C' (Carol), and then a 'G' (Greg)....and I accept the meeting invitation, it will only "accept on behalf of" Carol but not Greg. So the meeting organizer will see a message that appears to be from Carol, but it actually states that Jason accepted on behalf of carol. The organizer will also receive the proper response that you (Jason in this case) accepted.
Other testing showed that if YOUR name was the lowest alphabetically in the recipients list (Jason, Sam, and Tom), then it will accept for you properly, but not accept those with names starting with a higher letter in the alphabet than your name.
So it appears to choose the first name in the recipients list in alphabetical order.
We also noticed that if the meeting organizer sends the request *from his/her iphone* (with the same recipients - Carol, Greg, and Jason), and Jason accepts it on his iphone....it will not accept on behalf of Carol.
So far we don't have a solution....but that's what we've figured out at this point.
    I hope it makes sense.

  • Outlook 2010: Getting a "the operation failed" error when accepting invite from inbox

One of the people I support is using Win 7 and Office 2010. When accepting an invite in his inbox, he gets "This Operation Failed", however this behaviour only occurs for internal staff who email him through Exchange. I emailed him from an external email
address and he was able to accept the invite and have it appear in his calendar correctly.
We are running Exchange 2007 and his client is Office 2010.
I'm going to try the following to try to get to the bottom of things
    1. Check account settings
    2. Disable antivirus
    3. Try non cached mode
    4. Check Delegate access?
    5. Check event logs
    6. Office updates / service packs
    7. Repair job of Office 2010
    8. Reinstall Office 2010 or install 2007
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Glad your issue has been resolved.

  • Getting rid of meeting invitations when syncing calendars

New iphone. When I create a new entry on on the iphone and then sync to outlook on pc, it shows up on outlook as a meeting invitation withthe meeting icon. How do I simply sync as a new calendar appointment without the invitation or the icon? Does not happen with appointment created on pc and synced to iphone.

Probably the easiest way would be to delete the MobileMe account and then re-add it - you should then be prompted to either keep the data on the iPhone, or delete it.

  • When I accept a calendar invite iPhone 5 is sending multiple acceptance mails

    Hi there,
I'm hoping someone can assist as I'm driivng my colleagues crazy.
Just moved over from an iPhone 4 to iPhone 5. Everything has been copied over ok and I was happy as Larry.
However I just got a meeting request from our works mail server (Exchange) which I accepted in the calendar app. The phone then proceeded to send 30odd acceptance messages to the invitee who just so happened to be my boss. I switched the phone off and sure enough the stopped only to resume once I switched the phone back on again.
I thought perhaps something didn't quite copy over correctly so I removed the exchange account completely and re-added it. I got a member of my staff to test with a new meeting request and exactly the same thing happend again. This time I just switched off the calendar and switched it back on which seems to have solved the problem of the multiple messages.
Obviously this not only mega annoying for the person getting spammed by my acceptance mails it's also killing my battery.
I wasn't having this issue on my iPhone 4 which was running iOS 6 so the only things that have changed is the phone and also the service provider. I'm sure former will blame the latter and the latter will blame the former.
Before I spend time on the phone to the network has anyone else experienced similar? And how did you resolve it?

I have the exact same request. I especially don't want to send a response when I receive an invite to a large meeting with a lot of invitees. Have you figured it out?

  • Once I accept a calendar invite on my iPhone, I cannot delete or otherwise modify it.  Even when it is updated or deleted by the invitor, it does not change on my iPhone.  Is there a fix for this?

Once I accept a calendar invite on my iPhone, I cannot delete or otherwise modify it.  Even when it is updated or deleted by the invitor, it does not change on my iPhone.

My husband and I both have iphone 4's and we both have this same problem.  I have an open ticket with apple, but so far they haven't been able to figure this out.  First, they told me the problem was the mail server I was using.  So, I tried sending/receiving invites from gmail and yahoo which they told me should work.  Neither did.  It doesn't matter whether the original invite was created in iCal or in Outlook or Google, once I open the invite in my mail and hit "add to calendar" the event is locked into my calendar.  If the originator sends an update or cancels the meeting, I will receive an email with the new info, but the event doesn't change in my iphone calendar.  This is completely lame.  Why bother putting a calendar app on the phone if it can't handle basic functions?
Did you ever get a response from anyone or figure out a workaround?  I'll post if I hear back from Apple with a fix.

  • Accepting meeting invite accepts as someone else

When I accept a meeting invite on my Incredible, it sends the acceptance as if I were someone else.  That person is always another person invited to the meeting.  The only way that I knew is that someone asked me how I was accepting as the President of my company.  I then opened Outlook on my computer and can see that it lists another invitees name as the From in my meeting acceptance.  How in the world does this happen and how do I fix it?  I am using the standard mail app.

That could get frustrating.  I'm assuming if you are using the stock mail app on the phone, this is your Corporate Email setup because it is syncing with Outlook on the computer.  Something could have been corrupted with your phone syncing with the Corporate Email account, but it should be able to be fixed as this is not a known issue.  I would recommend removing the email setup altogether and setting up from scratch.
    Follow these steps:
    1)  Go to settings> applications> manage applications> change filter to all at the top> find your email application (be listed as
mail)> select all the buttons that are lit up (Force Stop, Clear Data, and Clear Cache).
    2) Go to settings> accounts & sync> and make sure that your corporate account is removed from this list.  If it's still listed, touch
and hold on the account name and choose remove account.
    3) Go to settings> accounts & sync> add account> Exchange ActiveSync. Note: You may need to get your IT department involved
if you are unsure of all of the settings.
Let us know if that helps!
