When Accessing iTunes store it says connection timed out??

Every time I try to go to iTunes it says the connection has timed and to check my settings and/or network connectivity. So I ran a diagnostic check and it says everything was successfully verified that it was able to connect to the internet, and to iTunes. It said the last successful store (ability to access iTunes) was when I tried to get into last, but I the connection timed out I never actually got to the iTunes store..
Now there have been two times i got into the iTunes store but when I went to download something or when its asking me to edit the billing info it always times out.. Could it have anything to do with my bank account???

I am having similar issues except that the store starts to load, then stops, then I only get iTunes Store in gray letters on a white screen. I can access playlist and the other stuff. Like flamesgirl, I contacted them and they just keep sending me links of stuff to try which I had already seen on the Apple website and nothing works. I posted the question on another forum I belong to and one responder said her husband was in an Apple store and asked about this problem as he was having the same issue. They said an update would be coming out soon as they were aware of the problem. Who knows.

    Even though my internet and everything else (including the rest of iTunes) is working, I can't get to the Genius option, iTunes Ping, and iTunes Store. I think all of those connect to the internet somehow, bu my internet works just fine! I even have the newest version of iTunes (if that even matters) but still don't know what's going on.

    1. i uninstalled and then installed latest version of itunes. it worked for 3 hours. then could not connect to itunes once again. Does anyone have suggestions ?

    After two days of attempts, Google & Apple searches, one Apple post stated to turn off all firewalls and virus software and keep trying since there were 6 gazillion people trying to update.  I have Windows 7 & Kaspersky and had to diable every single safety feature in Kaspersky as well as Firewalls and it finally allowed the download and update attempt. 
    Glancing at the forum, there appears to be numerous other problems with missing pictures, text problems etc after the IOS5 download but fortuneately, everything seems ok so far.  Good luck, it is frustrating!  Hattie47

    I've problems for two days now. I phone apple care they said "sorry I can't help" and hanged up on me, so that was helpful

    I had the same problem !
    I eventually contacted my ISP which is Orange and to my surprise they were aware of the problem ad said it would be sorted soon.
    6 hrs later I was able to open iTunes.

    iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
    If the iPod was Disabled, place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
    - Then try on another computer

    Ever since I got a new laptop with Win8 (5 months ago) I have been unable to access the iTunes Store.  I've searched for answers and nothing has worked.  Gave up for several months since Apple told me I'd have to pay their support team to fix the issue.  Today I found this thread, applied the fix found by "DonInDassel" and so far I'm accessing the store with no issue.  I copied & pasted the file into the new location so it stayed in both locations, just in case.  iTunes store is still running after 30 minutes and I've been randomly clicking all over the place just to test it!!!!  Why can't Apple figure this stuff out?  LOL!  I hope y'all have the same success!

    Try this.
    Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
    Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try again.

  • Update available for firefox 3.6.12 but won't install;says connection timed out

    I've had firefox 3.6.12 for a couple of months. it says an upgrade is available, but won't install. says connection timed out. I tried it from IE 8 as well, same result. Took me a half our just to get to mozilla.com I installed IE 8 2 days ago, and since then, my monitor flashes the page when i'm in gmail. Also flash videos won't play worth a crap. I just installed K-lite Mega 6.6 to try to fix that.

    I wonder if it's not some of the newer technologies like HTML 5 that the other browsers support. I have the same problem, and the sites load fine in Opera. I still have 3.6 (whatever's latest), and haven't upgraded to 4 yet because of all the extensions I use. I'm waiting until it's more stable and my more important extensions are usable. I use Hulu's desktop viewer and Opera to make up for it, currently.
    Adding screenshots of my experience with it. The text will load, but no video or images. That's why I thought it might be some new language / protocol.

    I have installed firefox successfully. When i enter any website its status shows connecting, For eg. Connecting to gmail.com, but after some time it says connection timed out.
    No problem with internet, i can open the same website with other browsers.
    Please look at this. I faced the same with the 2 versions FireFox5.0 and 3.5
    OS - Windows7 64 bit operating system.

    Assuming you trust the source of your application, in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General you can check the "Anywhere" box under "Allow applications downloaded from". You may want to reset the security setting after the download.
