When adding security with 9.0 Pro Text in Document disappears!

I need to add no print/no edit security to a PDF. When I do this, the text of the entire document disappears after I save it. Why is this happening? Even when I close and open the document again, it opens as essentially a blank document.
When I remove the security and save it again, the text of the document magically appears! What is up with this? Can anyone help?

You need to update AA9. I am not sure which subversion was needed to work with x64 systems. Generally the initial releases have not worked with x64 systems. I think that AA9 will work with x64, but only after updating. The current version of AA9 is 9.5.2. Some have still reported problems with x64 systems after upgrading, but without the upgrade you can probably forget it.

"Can't load counters" in Perfmon when adding counters with lodctr

I'm working with C/C++ in windows 7 64 bit and was trying to add my own performance counter using the version 2.0 counter framework (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa965334(v=VS.85).aspx).
Whatever i did, in perfmon (when trying to add my counter) my counter set was always shown with it's GUID and not the given name in the manifest file. Also, when selecting my counterset it always showed "Can't load counters". I searched for
a day on this and already had a feeling that it was some kind of problem with admin rights. It seems that running lodctr with a user that has administrator rights is not enough, although lodctr returns a successful completion of the addition of
the counter set. When adding my user to the "Performance Monitor Users" and "Performance Log Users" group, my counter set was finally shown correctly in perfmon.
I hope this info will help others because this isn't mentioned in the counter documentation (or not very visible).

I'm having the same problem as above, and after doing the suggested tricks (as follows), I still can see only my counter set's GUID and the "Can't load counters" message when expanded:
1- adding my user to the "Performance Monitor Users" and "Performance Log Users" group. Log out
and log back in for settings to take effect.
2- Set
the complete path to the exe file in the manifest for things to work
3- windows
security eventlog and check for access denied messages / missing permissions: no such messages
System: Windows 7 64-bit
I resolved my issue and now my counters load up in perfmon.
The problem in my case was that I hadn't included in my provider application the ctrpp-generated rc file which contained the necessary strings for counter registration.
Thought it might be useful for anyone experiencing this symptom.

HT201335 my apple tv video is delayed when its mirrored with my macbook pro but he audio is fine.

When I mirror my macbook pro to my apple tv the video is greatly delayed but the audio is perfect. how can i fix this?

Clamshell and mirroring are two distinct concepts, I know. As to the lost audio, I have restarted my equipment more than a few times. It's usually one of my first options. Just don't understand why the audio stays home and the video makes it to the tv. That's with mirroring.
I really want to be able to close the lid of the MacBook and use the tv as a desktop. With mirroring, the cursor is choppy and reacts slowly. I wish to watch programming stored on my drives on the tv. I dont really need or want mirroring, but it's the only way I know of to get desktop to the tv. And mirroring still suffers audio loss. Someone in the community mentioned using and external keyboard and "clamshell" but they didn't elaborate. That's what I'm really wishing to accomplish.

ITunes keeps taking new songs off my iPhone 4s when wirelessly synced with my MacBook Pro. How do I stop this??

I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and whenever my phone is close enought to my computer to wirelessly sync, it takes all my new songs I just added within the last week off my iPhone and I have to connect it with the cord and sync it to get it all back. Why does it do this? I'm getting very annoyed at having to do this multiple times a day just to keep the new stuff I added on my phone..

How does time machine work when being used with a mac pro?

How does time machine work when backing up a mac pro?
Considering the fact that the mac pro can hold 8TB and a external (non NAS) hard drive can hold only 2TB does time machine only backup the OS disk.

Time Machine will backup everything by default, on every disk in your Mac.
Choose System Preferences > Options to exclude items. You could exclude everything except your OS...but I'd think it is your data that's more important to you, if you have to make choices.

While it's true you can store almost 8TB, how much do you think you'll actually store? If you have 1TB of data you want to store then a 2TB drive can do it. Also when your TM drive begins to get full it will begin deleting the oldest backups to make room.
You could also get a Drobo with 8 bays...

SQL Error when adding data with UDO + Form

Initially, I apologize for any mistakes in my English.
I am developing an addon for a client and now I came across a problem that started happening about 5 days ago:
I customized a MasterData postcodes in B1, I created a UDO (oCNSTCEP) and bind to a form created by the Screen Painter. It is noteworthy that this program has been operating without any problems in the customer environment for at least 3 months. Finally, for reasons unknown to the system now has to give the following message when I insert a new record:
[Microsoft] [SQL Server Native Client 10.0] [SQL Server] Conversion failed When converting the nvarchar value 'oCNSTCEP' to data type int. (CINF)
The strange thing is that the record is written into the UDT corresponding to the UDO. But the error message is given, giving the user the impression that the routine was not completed successfully.
Yesterday you told me what is happening the same error in another form, ie, the way any given recording through UDOs are giving problem.
I searched for this post in SDN and the maximum that I discovered is that it could be happening because of the variable @ object_type in SBO_Notification be as int instead of being as nvarchar (20). I checked the stored procedure and @object_type is nvarchar(20) type.

The error is coming from the stored procedure and is easy to fix,
Anywhere where you check the @object_type, you need to put the value in single quotes.
e.g if your stored proc includes both of these:
IF @object_type = 17
IF @object_type = 'oCNSTCEP'
It will fail with the error you mentioned. But if you have:
IF @object_type = '17'
IF @object_type = 'oCNSTCEP'
It will work.

Mac InDesign CS6 crashes when adding files with links to Windows network into book

Our Mac network is unstable, so I tested linking InDesign CS6 files (on my Mac's hard drive) to .jpg files on our company's very stable Windows network rather to the same .jpg files on our Mac network. I tested with 4 simple, small InDesign files. When these 4 files were linked to images on a storage drive on our Mac network, I could drag all 4 files into a book and export the book to PDF. But when linked to the same images on the Windows network, while each file would open fine with no errors, and while I could generate a PDF from each individual file, the moment I dragged the 4 files into a book, InDesign crashed, generating pages of information in the crash report form.
I have no problem making 500 page manuals on my hard drive, comprised of about 50 InDesign files, with links to THOUSANDS of image files on a storage drive on our Mac network. Is there some trick to making a book with files linked to images on a Windows network? If there is no simple answer, who could I call to set us up so this will work?

Repeatedly asking for apple password when adding security questions

when trying to download apps on ipod touch it asks me to choose 3 security questions (which i did 2 days ago when i first set it up )but when continuing to try and answer questions its repeatedly asks for apple password which i am entering correctly and doesnt seem to get any further and therefore i cant download apps.
Can anyone help?

I encountered this on my son's iPod Touch. I tried an 'Update All', but since he has one or two apps from his sister's Apple ID and she wasn't here to enter her password (which stopped the whole process!) I wanted to just update the other apps (purchased on my Apple ID). However, since there wasn't an option to skip an app, it seemed the only way to update the others (around 50 apps) was to click on all the update buttons individually. That would have been annoying enough, but fancy being asked to type in my password for every… single… app!
Absolute madness. Does Apple not think through these things anymore? They used to pay such careful attention to little details of the user experience. Very frustrating.

Why do I get random BSOD when using Firefox with windows XP pro 32 bit? Seems to happen since system updates on 01/09/13.

I am using Chrome to write this and no crashes. I have defragged with the system defrager and Defragler both. I bought new memory but this issue happened a couple days after install around the time of some microsoft updates 01/09/13. I have run Memtest and a hard drive test as well, done a power cycle and run a disk cleaner. This only happens when using Firefox.

Decreased Volume When Drivers Installed With Windows XP Pro

Hi,
I recently installed Windows XP Pro (OEM) SP2, I am using the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card. I installed first "EAX4DRV_AUDIGY2__84_50" driver and then updated to "SBA2_PCWDRV_LB__84_55" driver, however I have experienced a decrease in the volume from my speakers since going from SP to SP2. I have no other Creative software installed for the ZS, I use the controls in Windows XP for other changes to the set up. I am using the Logitech Z680 speakers. Nothing else has changed in my set up except the change from SP to SP2. The onboard sound card is "disabled" in the BIOS. The quality of the sound has NOT changed, it is still excellent.
What would be the possible cause of this decrease in volume?

I'm getting the same problem, and I don't know what to do about it!!! I've updated all of my drivers, but the volume is still not as loud as it used to be.
As you said, the quality is still exceptional, but the volume level is lowered. I can still crank it up pretty loud, but not near as loud as before.
Every once and awhile the volume level will suddenly jump up to an ear shattering level, then back down to where it currently resides... this can really scare you if you have it cranked up at the time.

Error when adding mp3s with add audio

I'm trying to add some mp3s into a song, using the add audio function. however, although this is something I do frequently, it is now showing an error. With every MP3 I try (some of which I have previously imported into other, or even the same sessions) I get the error message:
Skipping file "whatever.mp3" because it can't be read.
Does anyone know anything about this? I have not changed any settings, done any upgrades or anything recently. It just suddenly isnt working. And I really need to do some work on these files. Ideally converted to AIFFs, but even working on them as mp3s would be enough!

Losing picture quality when doing slideshows with Final Cut Pro

Whenever I put images in final cut and export them, the quality of the images look utter garbage. The pictures im taking are 2848X4288. Whatever Frame Size I make and whenver i Export them, the images doesnt look as sharp.
Could anyone suggest that I do something so I can keep the same quality of pictures?

I'd size them down in Photoshop, to match your sequence settings aspect ratio, or a bit larger if you want to zoom in/out or pan/scan.
You can adjust them to 72dpi for use in SD video...not sure about HD.

Issues with my Macbook pro, the current page disappears and it goes back to the desktop. I can't figure out what's wrong.

I have been having problems with my Macbook ever since I had it in for service to replace the battery. The issue is when I am surfing the page disappears and goes back to the desk top, and I have to reload it again. This happens quite often while I am online, and is a definite glitch.

On calendar with ipad in day screen, when i sync with macbook pro i get a alert (time)in the left column on the ipad.

when i'm on the calendar for the ipad, when i sync with my macbook pro from what was put on that computer, when it transfers over to the ipad on the left column of the day screen, i always get an alert column-I dont get an alert column when i use the calendar in the ipad
How can I delete the alert column on the ipad?
