When adding soundtracks it creates a gap in the video

There are times when adding music to the soundtrack that it causes other media such as photos, audio, narration to be pushed out on the timeline so there is a gap between the video.  I do a delete and close gaps.  I re-try to upload the music to the soundtrack and sometimes it is placed properly and some times it still causes a gap in the video.  Please advise on what I need to do to fix this.

This ARTICLE will give you tips on adjusting Volume in Audio.
When an audio file is playing, the soundtrack in the background does NOT lower.  The background soundtrack does lower when narration is playing.  Why doesn't it work when audio clips are playing?  How do I set this easily?
If you have done no Volume adjustments, then the Narration and the Soundtrack should maintain their original Levels, unless there is some new added "feature." If there is a new feature, then I am sure that Steve will educate me.
As it's easy to adjust the Volume in several ways, I would not really want a program to try and do it for me.
Also, some users have had issues with the two fixed Audio Tracks, Soundtrack and Narration, and in nearly every case, the fix was to just use a "regular" empty Audio Track, instead of one of those.
Good luck,

  • Why does pan and zoom create a gap in the video?

I am using pan and zoom to move around still pictures with Premiere Elements 10.0.
When I create the frames and pans in the picture and return to the timeline, PE has inserted a blank gap after the next cut in the video. The pictures are on a separate video track. The gap is just gray and I can't delete and close the gap. When I right-click the gap the Delete and Close Gap popup button is grayed out and cannot be clicked. I'm being very careful to make all of the hold durations plus the pan durations for all frames add up to be the exact length of the original still picture I'm using. Nothing I try seems to get around this problem.
Any suggestions will be greatly apprecieated.
    Thanks.

I do not recall reading of a Bug in the program, that would create a gap. It would be more likely, that something is being done in the editing, that is creating the gap.
Having a Title on a Video Track "above" the Clips (Video, or Still), is the normal method of doing an overlay Title, that will appear above the Clips, and display as a superimposition of the Title over the Clip.
Now, when editing, one can control how the editing operation affects existing Clips on the Timeline. For instance, if one wishes to edit, or add material, and have that "ripple" all the existing material, then that is the default editing function. If they, instead, wish to have the edit, or the additional material "replace" Frames in the existing material, then this is done by holding down the Ctrl modifier key. It all depends on what the user requires to happen.
    Good luck,

  • Why inserting audio creates a gap in my video ?

    Hi,
I try to insert a short audio mp3 bakcground music in my work.
I try to insert it several times because it is short and I need it repeat.
So I insert it once at begining of my work. When I insert it a second time, it will create a gap between the end of previous audio piece, and its own end.
Why on earth does it does this ? Why audio can break video ? This turns me mad, please tell me how can I insert audio files without destroying my video ?
    Thanks,
    Uglook

Are you trying to put it onto the Audio 1 track? If so after the insert (that creates the gap) you will need to break the video/audio link by right-clicking the audio track and selecting 'Unlink Audio and Video'. With the link broken you can then move just the video clips to fill the gap.
If you are not already using the 'Soundtrack' track for something else that would be the better place to add your mp3 clip.

When performing the exact same operation in Adobe Photoshop CC, i can add audio in the same way, no error message. Any ideas to solve this, anyone? Would be greatly appreciated.

  • Error message an error occurred while signing in " when I worked with Create PDF and at the signed

Error message "an error occurred while signing in " when I worked with Create PDF and at the signed in status. Please help so that I can continu my work.

    Hi Stacy,
    Thank you for your attention.
I have been working with Create PFD under normal procedures including
sign-in and several documents had been finished. However, when continued
creating another document the computer took a long time to pprocess and
finally a mesage appeared: "An error occurred while signing in" and stopped
there. I clicked the OK button and start creating again and the same
message appeared once more. I tried to log off and log in again in no
avail. So I went to the help site and called for help.
Later, I decided to reboot the computer and tried once more. This time it
worked and I continued creating. Thanks.

  • Any limitation when you try to create a sdo_geometry in the fly?

I was trying to use sdo_relate to find the IDs of the lines(geodetic data) in the database by contructing a long line with long/lat values, and spatially relate it with those lines in database. There are about 400 points that make that long route(I'm sure that it's a valid line). The interesting thing is that if I only use small portion of it(let's say, the first 40 points of that line), and use those long/lat value to build the sdo_geometry in my query, it worked, and returned me some IDs. However, if I use the whole line to do that(the SQL query is exactly the same except I have MORE values for the SDO_ORDINATE_ARRAY parameter. and this time it returned nothing????? The following is the query that I used the first small part of the line. I'm really confused here. Any limit on contructing a sdo_geometry in the fly? actually I had a similar problem when I tried to contruct a polygon sdo_geometry by using the points value that make a MSA area(which usually is a long list of points value), it failed, but the same query worked for less points that makes a polygon. I could get around with that problem. But for this, I have to work it out.Any idea about how to get around with it?
The following query only have the first part of the line, and it worked! but not if I put the whole long line data there!!!

    Hi Dan,
The following is the one that failed, the difference between this and the last one worked is this the whole line, while the one above is just first part of this long line. Actually it didnot give any error, but just did not return anything. It doesnot make sense because I am using a longer line now, while it returned something if I just use part of it. Thanks a lot!
I had a similar limitation problem when I try to create a SDO_GEOMETRY with the points I got from a MSA polygon by using the SDO API.
I'm using Oracle 9i and it reside at window 2000 platform. BTW, when is the spatial patch coming out?

  • No MountPoint for added folder Please create a MountPoint for the remote..

    Hi All,
We have already created various DCs on NWDI SP9. Now when we applied Patch SP10, we are running into problems.
When i try to edit the DC its saying that it cant be modifiable and i am shown the below errors in the DTR Console.
" No MountPoint for added folder /dtr/ws/EPDEV09/com.xenergy_EP-ONESOURCE/dev/inactive/DCs/xenergy.com/phaseone/stockquoteportalservice/_comp/src.core/com/x/global/enterprise/portal/. Please create a MountPoint for the remote resource.
Could anyone please let me know how to get rid of this error and can go forward by deploying the DCs
    Thanks & Regards,
    Raghavendra Pothula

    Hi,
If you've already imported the development configuration and none of the DCs have any activities created, then remove the configurtation and re-import it. That should solve the issue.
    Hope that helps,
    Thanks,

  • [SOLVED]Creating a gap at the top of the screen in DWM / Dzen2

I've messed around with this for a couple days to no avail. I'd like to create a small gap at the top of the screen in dwm 6.0 (replacing dwm's topbar) so I can insert a dzen status bar. I'm pretty new to editing dwm.c, but from my google-fu have found that the answer lies somewhere in the setup() and updategeom() functions. Any other relevant information is only applicable to earlier versions of dwm.
So, can anyone help me out, or atleast point me in the right direction? I understand this might be possible through xmonad, but would like to avoid that if there's a chance.

Trilby wrote:If you really want to replace dwm's bar, then you don't need to do anything - just have dzen over dwm's bar.  If you wanted to make it as efficient as possible, you could delete the function that draws the bar (or probably more easily just delete it's contents so it is an empty function).
That actually worked to some effect, I was so OCD about it being clean I didn't want to paint over the original bar, but just deleting the function that draws it doesn't seem to have removed the gap where it used to be. This solution also allows me the ability to hide it as well.
So thanks, I'm pretty happy with these results.
