When attempting to "print" to Adobe or create a pdf from a web page, the "pring/pdf" result has a bunch of unrecognizable characters on the page rather than letters/numbers
here is an example
!@#$$$%#@!@$%^^%
You could open it in the XPS application and check print preview to see if it comes out as TSN suggests (and likely will). You can go to the printer properties and adjust the page size accordingly.
You can also use the cropping in Acrobat to size all the pages and then use the Protect>Remove Hidden option to remove the cropped area.

My computer locks up when attempting to print an Adobe Reader XI file. How do I fix this??
adobe reader 11.0.10 windows 7 home edition Everything was working fine, but I got a "communication not available error" and rebooted the wifi. The next day, when I went to print, after selecting the number of copies etc, I clicked on "print". The next screen is the progress report "Printing xxx.file.", and nothing happens. The computer is completely lock and I have to reboot. I can print excel and word files, but no pdf files, either from the internet or one of my documents. I have tried saving the internet pages and then printing later, but that doesn't work either. One suggestion was to go to edit, preferences, security enhanced and turn off enable. That worked for one document ( a test) from my computer, but when I tried another file, no go

When attempting to print from a printer friendly version the print window is empty.
When attempting to print from a printer friendly version the print window is empty. I have also noticed if I click on all programs and Acrobat.com the window that opens says unable to connect to the internet. I can even be on the internet and do it. I have downloaded the reader DC suggested under document to print. [personal information (email address) removed by moderator]
Hi,
Would you tell us the exact name of the application that you use? What is your operating system?
Is it "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC", "Adobe Acrobat Pro DC", or "Adobe Acrobat Standard DC" for desktop computers?
Or "Adobe Acrobat DC for iOS" or "Adobe Acrobat DC for Android" (for mobile devices)? -
When attempting to print with an HP P2015 cabled to an AirPort Extreme, the network won't connect to printer. The Print Que message is "Network host (name) is busy; will retry in (number) seconds." When I delete the file to be printed, the Print Queue screen says "Printer Ready".
More Information:
The printer's Queue Name is Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet P2015 Series
The Location is "(my name) AirPort Extreme"
URL is "Hewlett_Packard%20%HP%20LaserJet%20P2015%20Series._pdl-datastream._tcp.local./ ?bidi" (for whatever that means)
Driver Version is 18.4
Printer Software is HP LaserJet P2015 Series
The printer is listed as a printer on System Preferences/Print&Fax screen
If I connect the printer cable directly to the iMac, the printer works fine.
Any helpful directions would be greatly appreciated.I came across an Apple article last modified 6/2/08 (Printer troubleshooting for AirPort Base Stations and Time Capsule). It suggested the old standby, i.e., disconnect the AirPort Extreme Base Station from its power source, turn off the printer, turn on the printer, and reconnect the AirPort to its power source. It worked. I guess disconnecting the AirPort cleared out the network host. Yea.

Media out or not loaded correctly when attempting to print since iOS 7 upgrade?
Since ios7 upgrade my mini gives me "media out or not loaded correctly" when attempting tp print to Epson r2400. Apple support directed me through a new setup. It worked for a few days and on it's own reverted back to the original problem.

When attempting to print in Pages, I keep getting a message that no printer is detected. I have checked all connections and they are solid, this printer has always worked before, and even if I try to add it, I still get that message. I can print from all other applications, just not any Pages documents.
You may just have an outdated printer driver.

Preview hangs when attempting to print documents....
Since upgrading to Lion. Preview hangs when attempting to print documents....
Will not even open the print dialog window and results in having to use Force Quit to Exit. Anyone experiencing the same? Any ideas?Just notices the other threads actually. Interesting about the Canon print drivers, as I do have UFRII Canon drivers loaded. I have a number of different Printers, including Lexmark, HP Plotters and Canon.
The hang log doesn't come up after the crash. But I think this the Entry in Console relating to the last time it went down:

Iphoto hangs when attempting to print photo
iphoto hangs when attempting to print photo even after rebuilding library
With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a solution. We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what fixes have you tried?
where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive? -

The Microsoft XPS Document Writer driver has no problem processing multiple copies. This was not a problem in previous versions of Crystal Reports. When attempting to print 'All Sheets', number crashes??
I'm not sure if anyone else has had this problem but I can't seem to find a reason why.
When trying to print, either to a hard copy or to pdf, if I select just this sheet and print one page at a time all is good. However when I select all sheet, it goes downhill quickly. It'll either lock up before the print options window opens or within seconds.
I even tried opening the file with 2.3 to print but unfortunately it won't even let me do that now, as I'm assuming 3.0 changed something in the version when I saved it.
From looking on here and other forums I'm not the only one that is utterly disappointed with this release. I'm really regretting the upgrade.Hi Scubascottie,
Here's a picture of how to "export" back to the old version:
You could also try the Export to PDF... option, which exports all sheets. Maybe that will work better than printing to PDF.. (I have a problem printing here too, but it's an OS X upgrade printer driver problem rather than a Numbers 3.0 problem. But the Export to PDF works fine.)

Acrobat crashes when creating a PDF from a web page
Whenever I ask Acrobat to create a PDF from a web page, it crashes halfway through the process. Here is an example from the BBC:-
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-19585341
Printing to PDF from the browser does not produce an accurate document. The font is too big, and most of the pictures do not appear.
I use Acrobat X Pro version 10.1.4.
This is a PC problem. On the Mac it works. The problem I mentioned is peculiar to Acrobat 10 and also to my PC. On a Mac I can create PDF's from webpages normally.
I also notice that when printing to PDF from Opera only the first page comes out. (Using Firefox all pages are printed to PDF.) -
Using Adobe Pro X I cannot create a PDF from a web page.
After a recent upgrade from a previous version of Firefox, I am now unable to create a PDF from a web page using the Adobe Pro toolbar on the web page. A "save as" box appears and then the conversion process dies. I can print the page using Adobe Pro as my printer and it works fine. I can create other docs with Adobe Pro. How do I fix this on my browser?
Thanks.
