Try turning down the speak volume (System Preferences->Sound->Output->Output Volume) or the microphone gain (System Preferences->Sound->Input->Input Volume). Do this on both sides of the call.

Under (system prefernces>security and privacy) do you have 'disable automatic login' checked?
I have it checked which means I must sign in to my account. To change the picture go to system preferences>users and groups. Hover over the picture and click on the glif at the bottom right of the picture.

You need to request that to your carrier. Only they can hide your number from the Caller Id feature. Its not sometihng you can do on your phone.
With that said, what does this have to do with Appleworks? Apple works is an old defunct Office suite, like iWork, and Ms Office. I'll request this be moved to the iPhone forum.

Iphone 4 cracking sound when calling someone.

History - I've been having issues with iPhone4 ever since I got it on the 24th june. First the visual voice mail didn't work for the longest time. I did everything apple and at&t asked me to do and reset the phone and network settings. Finally I had to reset it as a new phone and couldn't use any back up. I did this a week back.
I answered a call today afternoon and there was a cracking sound. The other person couldn't hear me and i couldn't hear them. I restarted my phone twice and I could hear them clearly. But they still couldn't hear me. I tried using earphones and the mic and they still couldn't hear me. My mic works fine since I can record just perfect and when I connect the earphones I can listen to music and hear the typing as well. Everything except when I call someone. Sometimes after restarting my phone it works. (like once in 5 times).
WHAT DO I DO
I realized I hadn't answered any calls for 40 hrs. And I'm pretty sure I didn't drop it. Plus it is well protected with a case. But I'm still pretty sure I didn't drop it.
Any suggestions ??
It has 4.1 installed.

Do you know what might be the reason ?
cuz somehow they always have reasons why not to replace it n' why it's not in warranty anymore

There are no extra charges associated with Facetime in and of itself. The only applicable charges are whatever you already pay for your internet connection, or your Cellular connection if you are connecting through that.
Same applies for the person on the other end.

I have a similar problem. I bought a new Mac and login with the same appleID as my iPad. I changed the email address for FaceTime on my Mac to a different email address so I could FaceTime between my iPad and my Mac. When I call my Mac, it rings but the answer icons (decline/accept) do not appear, just the "End" button. It also says "null" at the top of the FaceTime window. Do you see a half moon icon in the upper right corner of the screen? If so, you have Do Not Disturb enabled. Settings>Do Not Disturb. Turn it off.
Or do you have system sounds muted?
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center. Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
