OK I think the problem is probably related to the platform swap and you may need your account re-set. Only Adobe staff can do that. You need to contact Adobe directly using the link below. Use the dropdown menu for boxes (1) & (2) to scroll down the list and choose:

Can Photoshop 6 documents open and work correctly in CS3 ?

I just need to know if graphics that I have created in Photoshop 6 will open and work correctly in CS3, which I will be running in Windows XP ?
I need to make sure that all of the layers will still be there, that the colors will be correct, etc... can anyone please help inform me correctly on this ?

Actually, there are a lot of things to love about Photoshop CS3 as compared to 6.0.
Keep in mind you can keep them both installed, assuming you have plenty of disk space, so if you find there's something you just can't find in CS3, you can always close down CS3 and fire up 6.0 (they can't both run at exactly the same time, even though they can coexist on the same computer).

I have updated my PSE9 and still can not open the RAW files from my new camera, I get an error?

I bought a new camera (Canon T5i) and took photos in RAW, tried to open them in PSE9 and they wouldn't open. I got the following error...

I have been to the link & downloaded what update it had. I have also done the available updates on my PSE9 and I am still getting this error messge. When I called Canon regarding this they said I needed to contact Adobe.
Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong or not doing so I can open these files???

The T5 is supported by Camera RAW 8.4 which needs PSE12. You can use the Canon software to convert RAW to TIF or the Adobe DNG Converter. The converter will convert the CR2 files to Adobes RAW DNG format that will open in PSE9's RAW processor. http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/photoshop/extend.displayTab2.html#downloads.

15' or 17' for working with SSD cameras line the sony ex3

Hi I am trying to check whether the 15inch mac book pro will work with cameras like the EX3. Does it have the right slots to do so? Thank you.

The 15" MBP can be configured almost exactly the same as the 17" MBP (RAM, CPU, HDD).
The primary differences are as follows:
A larger screen which allows for more working space and is more compatible watching high definition media.
Is one pound heavier and physically larger which may or may not be an issue to some.
It has an express card slot which allows for installation of an eSata connector which is faster than Firewire or USB. This can be important when transferring large data files.
It is not a good replacement for a desktop as many say (with no disrespect to dominic23). If you look at an iMac screen compared to a 17" MBP is larger and much brighter. It is simply is the largest notebook that Apple offers.
The heat issue that you are concerned with is always going to be present on any MBP, the 17" included. Fret not. Note that all MPSs are cased in aluminum, an excellent dissipater of heat. When you feel the heat, its doing its job. There are two fans inside and when CPU intensive applications are running you will them which is normal. The MBP will shut down before it overheats so as not to commit hari kari.
Regarding the battery, it is physically larger than the one in the 15" MBP. As an aside, real world usage is about 30% less than Apples advertised figures for ALL MBPs.
Which one to buy? I do have a bias (I own two 17" MBPs) but you cannot go wrong with either. Do consider a refurbished unit. For the money saved you can upgrade the RAM and HDD and have money left over.

Which version of Photoshop? Which operating system?
Different versions of Photoshop support different versions of Camera Raw. Different versions of Camera Raw support different cameras.

New cameras often mean updated or new software.
The D750 was first supported in Camera Raw 8.7 which is only supported in CS6 (subject to operating system) and Cloud versions.

So, to be able to use my new cameras with Aperture on my iMac with Snow Leopard I have to upgrade to Mountain Lion just to be able to read the RAW files?

The RAW converter Aperture uses is part of OS X (and is, therefore, system-wide). Updates to the RAW converter are, effectively, OS updates. If that update is not available for your OS, then you cannot use it.

Depends on your camera, but it is certainly possible.
The Fuji X-Pro1 sensor does not use a Bayer array. Afaik, there has never been a non-Bayer-array sensor camera supported by Apple.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    •    In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

When will Photoshop CC be able to read FujiFilm's new FinePix S1 RAF (RAW) files?

Fuji's FinePix S1 was only released a couple months ago. Don't confuse this with the 14-year-old Fuji S1-Pro.
As of April 24, 2014, the latest RAW conversion table does not include the FinePix S1 which means that I have to use their rather awkward SilkyPix RAW file converter to make TIFF files before opening them in Photoshop or Lightroom.
Any ideas of when Adobe will recognize this new RAW format?

This is a user to user Forum, so you are not really addressing Adobe here, even though some Adobe employees thankfully have been dropping by.
But this is not the Camera Raw Forum.
Furthermore: Have you contacted Sony as to what their reasons are for not using DNG or working with Adobe to make their new RAW Formats usable in ACR in time?
(Camera makers’ preferring their proprietary software for RAW conversions may be perfectly legitimate if the results are superior to Adobe’s, but is that always the case?)

My network works fine for everything else.

Can't get Epson NX510 to work with new iMac

I am new to Mac, and I apologize if this is the wrong forum to this question, but...
Apple threw in an NX510 scanner/printer/copy/fax when I bought my new iMac a couple of months ago. Printer/copy functions works great. But I cannot get the scanner function to work.
Can anyone help me figure this out? Thanks in advance.

Can't get old scanner to work with new iMAC

I have an old scanner, Epson Perfection 4870 Photo that I can't get my new iMAC to install in PSE6 like I've had in my older computers. I've installed all the software (plus I used my old laptop to transfer files/information when I initially started the new iMAC. When I go into PSE6 it is not under the import area that it used to be. Do I need to go manually drag the file in the hard drive to another folder? Thank you.

Most likely the problem is with the driver. I have the same scanner at work and this is what I had to do to get it to work. Because you are running PSE6 which is a Universal Application on an Intel Mac, in order for the plugin to load within PSE it must also be a Universal plugin which it's not. Epson claims these drivers that were released in 2006 are Intel and 10.5 compatible. What you have to do to get it to work is Open up Epson Scan Utility in order to scan because the Scan Utility will run as a PPC Application. You can call Epson to confirm but if they try and tell you how to run PSE in Rosetta that is not a good solution.

Can't get airport express to work with new wireless router

I just swapped out a linksys wrt54gl for a linksys E1200 wireless router on my home network. My PCs and iPads, and TV all made the switch to the new network fine, but the airport express isn't working. All I want to use it for is to transfer iPad audio to my home speakers. but my iPad AirPlay shows the old Airport as an option, I can switch to the Airport, no sound comes out the home speakers, then the iPad reverts AirPlay back to iPad. This model Airport just has power, USB, and LANA ports, so it doesn't seem like it would be complicated. A CAT 5 cable goes from the airport WAN port to one of the ports on the back of the new wireless router. What did I overlook?

I thought I'd jump in here with you network experts for some help with a related networking problem.
Equipment: iMac 24-inch, Early 2009 2.93 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo; 2 MBP w/Retina Display; AirPort Express version 7.6.4 (Conncected Using: DHCP; Router Mode: DHCP and NAT); Comcast/Xfinity Gateway 1 Modem w/2.4 GHz WiFi.
#1. Comcast forced me to change modems to their Gateway 1 saying mine was at “End of Life.” Previously, my home network was set up with AP Express and worked fine using my iMac as a server. After installing the Gateway 1, I could not get my network to work after repeated calls to their support, online chats, trial and error, reading community chats and articles, etc. I put the Comcast modem in passive mode using the “Bridge” setting and re-established my network with my AP. I’m using my iMac as a server for file sharing with my two MBP’s. The network isn’t recognized in sleep mode and will not wake from sleep and I can’t find it or Connect to Server when the computer is asleep. I’ve tried all combinations within the Energy Saver/Screen Saver/Security preferences. I’ve reset the SMC and other like resetting to factory defaults. How can I fix this and what are the correct settings for my home network to function again with my AP Express?
#2. TimeMachine stops doing backups when the computer is in sleep mode, understandably because I’m not making any changes on the iMac that need to be backed up. But using my laptops on the network, I am making changes in shared files that are hosted on the iMac that I would like backed up. I cannot get the schedule feature to work to wake up the computer long enough to do a backup nightly because, as a security feature, I log out after 30 minutes of inactivity. I understand the schedule doesn’t work unless you’re logged in. Is there a way for me to make this work?
