Hi guys, I got some questions with my phone and am appreciated that you can answer me.
I bought my 16GB iPhone 4 a year ago and it was out of warranty after February. Originally it was locked to fido (the Canadian carrier), but it was factory unlocked later. Before that there was a problem with this phone, when I made/ received phone calls from the others, the other party cannot hear me at all, or it worked for about 5-10 secends and it went down again. I checked the forums and found that it was a hardware problem. And I know there is a OOW service that allows me to pay $169 Canadian dollars for a new one.
And here are something I want to know:
Can I get the replacement for that?
Which version do I get for that (16GB or 8GB or the upgrade 4S)?
Do I get the unlocked one?
How long does it take to get my new phone? (As I live in a small city and there is no Apple Retail Stores here. To get the replacement I need to go to a larger city like Toronto or London, so I want to know if I can get a new one on the same day in store.)

Apple's not going to tell you a thing about any product except those that they sell. They don't make the configuration that you want in a 13" - you're just going to have to go with the 15" if you want that kind of processing power: that's never what the 13" were made for...

You have to go to me.com and pick a trial membership. I kept gonig to mobileme.com and all it does is take you to the apple web site.

Adobe, when can you get your act together?

I just installed Master Collection CS6 on a new machine and updated it to the latest versions.
But, the installer is still so utterly stupid and I have been complaining about that for years, filed numerous feature requests, but nothing happens. It is still the same approach as three years ago and nothing has improved.
What do I mean:
Every program in the Suite installs up to 40+ languages in the AMT directory, it repeats that in the Legal directory, then again repeats that in the OBLRes directory , sometimes even in the LMResources and RegLoc directory.
On a typical install this eats up more than 3 GB of space, just in order to show me the EULA in Afghan, Rumenian, Finnish, Arabic, Mandarin, Bulgarian, Taiwanese and what have you. Not only that, these files are replicated a multitude of times, slow down the download and installation and require quite some effort to get rid of that crap.
Adobe, why can't you make a simple installer like Microsoft that installs in either the selected language or the location that is set for the computer.?
There is no use for me to see your legal rights in one of the many (for me) unintelligible languages. Make it simple and save people time and around 3-4 GB space. Additionally, store all that crap in a central place like Adobe/Common, instead of replicating this all over the place for each and every application in the Suite.
Since you have never done anything with my earlier feature requests, this may be the better way to get your attention.
Sorry to sound so p*ssed off, but having to go through each and every program to clean up your mess, does not make me happy.

The shipping date can't always be precisely determined due to potential complications. I believe Apple is in the middle of some kind of production and/or legal processes so they don't know precisely when they'll be able to ship. Don't worry.

He moved it to another screen, he moved it into a folder, or he turned on restrictions for Safari.
Check Settings > General > Restrictions. If restrictions are enabled for Safari, Safari is disabled and its icon is removed from the Home screen.
You can also reset the home screen layout. Settings >General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout. That will place all the original apps in their original location with all added apps following in alphabetical order.

Also, out of curiousity, does anyone know why Apple is having such a hard time keeping up with iPhone demand? I've read online that it's everything from problems with parts suppliers to Apple protecting it's quarterly profits (limiting the amount of phones per quarter to keep investors happy).

Everybody would like to get them as soon as they are announced. To get one year's production all in one month they would need twelve times the production capacity. All those factories and workers would then be idle for eleven months until the next model comes out. The other way would be to start production eleven months before announcing each model. That would mean nearly a year of production with no money coming in from sales, then introducing a model a year out of date.

I have been using a program (osd_cat) rather extensively, and wanted to add some features to it (say... to make it able to read stdin when barmode is enabled)
I have made the change and I want to get this change upstream.
I found the project repository ( at https://sourceforge.net/projects/libxosd/ )
I have contacted the two owners/maintainers of the project there, and got no responses from either one of them.
The latest change is in 2011/7.
But, the project is in the repositories of many distributions. So I suppose it is not considered orphan.
How should I go about dealing with this?
I wouldn't like to fork it unless I have to. Maybe they did receive my messages but chose to ignore them?
