When changing database directory in lk6.5, no alarms are logged anymore.

When changing database directory in lk6.5, no alarms are logged anymore. Traces are running ok, only any query in MAX concerning alarms, will result in an empty response

Hi Ryan,
I tried many ways. First as you described. Second; delete all databases (with MAX) and start lookout, hoping lk would make al necessary settings.
I tried short path name, long path name. All the same results; database will be made (or manually with Max or automatically by lk), all traces works, only NOT the Alarm logging. (database isn't corrupted, while a query done in MAX don't result in an error, just empty result).
I the meantime I found something;
C:\Documents and Settings\my name\my documents\Databse --> traces works, alarms not
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Lookout 6.5\Database --> all works
So it seams that specificly "my documents" does'nt work for alarms, just for traces (????)
I also found the following message when trying to export the alarms; "The given Citadel database is not currently configured to log alarms to a relational database." Does this ring a bell?

  • Error when changing database time zone

    Hi all,
    I have Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 on Windows 2000 Pro. I try to change the time zone of the database using
    ALTER DATABASE SET TIME_ZONE = '+01:00'
    but it fails with error ORA-02231.
    Am I missing something?

    This is an expected behaviour, it's just that the message text was not meaningful.
    Basically if there is a TSLTZ column in the database, user is not allowed to change the database time zone. This is because it will invalid their existing TSLTZ data.
    You should either perform ALTER DATABASE SET TIME ZONE before creating any tables with TSLTZ columns, or drop the TSLTZ columns first before doing the ALTER DB statement.
    According to Bug 2435266, the error message has now been changed to
    ORA-30079: cannot alter database timezone when database has TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIME ZONE columns

    Does anyone know what is causing this problem?

    Your new database connection must be pointing to an older database which doesn't support the returning clause. I believe this was added in the 8.x series.

  • How to change output directory in Template Builder

    Hi,
    I'm using XML Publisher 5.5. standalone. When I use the Preview-Function in Template Builder to generate RTF output with MS Word, I want to change the directory in which the generated Files are located. How can I do this?
    Mirko

    The temp files are in:
    \XML Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\tmp
    I'm not sure why you need to change the preview directory.
    You can also use the system-temp-dir property to change the temp folder for run-time (there should be more info on this in the XMLP User's Guide)
    \XML Publisher Desktop\Template Builder for Word\config\xdo example.cfg

    Hi Paulbin,
    Do you want to supply a function-pointer to a DLL so it can call[back] your VI?  Here's how it can be done with .NET, though, that solution requires a C compiler.   A single "VI_to_function-reference" utility could handle all cases where the callback passes no parameters.  Maybe someday somebody will share that dll.
    Did you know that LabVIEW can use Events for some COM-signals change?  See pic.  (Note: DTR is not listed - - )
    Another question is another function's prototype is WORD SetTestType(WORD comHandle, bool type1, bool type2, bool type3),   I tried to use a boolean control and a Boolean to (0,1) node in labVIEW to pass parameters to CLF, I config the bool input value as U8(according to C++ bool type) and U32(according to WIN32 BOOL type), it dose not help, when I execute the VI, LabVIEW will be disappeare, it seems to be closed, I must start it again.
    Could someone has similar experience on this points?
    It's easy to crash LabVIEW misusing CLF - maybe there's another reason for the crash besides bool mis-match(?)  Do you know which "Calling convention" is required?  What type is comHandle? (where does comHandle come from?)
    Cheers!

  • How to change read-directory when using file adapter

    Hi, I'm deploying BPEL process to read files from a directory. I want to change the directory where to read dynamically. This can be achieved by using a file header variable. I know how to do this. But, the problem for me is that I can not find a place to assign this file header variable a correct value. The first step in my BPEL process is the receive-step and this has to be the first step. I wanted to place the assign-step before this step but this makes the BPEL process invalid. First step has to be a receive or a pick-step. So, now I have a dilemma! Anyone an advice on this?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Infoview prompts for database logon screen when changing dynamic parameter

    I have already set up initial database ID/PW for the report in CMS, but when I run the report from InfoView as I tried to update my parameter, it is requiring the user to enter database ID/PW again........Is there a way to set this up so that the user can bypass this step since it is quite annoying?
    Thanks.

    did you try selecting use same database credentials database option in CMS? If you are still getting the database prompt then it might be because of dynamic parameters in the report. If you have any dynamic parameters in the report it generates LOV in the repository. So try to open the LOV in Business VIew Manager and check the properties of the LOV and go to corresponding data connection for that LOV and in the properties tab select never prompt instead of always prompt by giving database credentials.

  • Orclpassword attributes lost when changing password

    Hi
    When using Apache Directory Studio to change the user password, many of the orclpassword attributes are lost?

    When userpassword is provided in plain text the orclPassword should get updated.
    If userpassword is hashed when modified, the update of orclPassword will fail.
    Apache Directory Studio will use hash method SHA by default when changing password.
    Make sure hash method plainText is selected.
    orclPassword is an EUS/database password identifier for custom authentication schemes like O3Logon for the database server. orclPassword cannot be changed directly, but is indirectly updated by the OID engine itself when userpassword is updated.

  • Database Table cannot be found when Verify Database

    I have been using CRW 7 for many years.  I recently upgraded to XI (I have current version).  I can open existing reports and create new reports fine.  The problem is when I Verify Database I get an error message "The Database table <tablename here> cannot be found. Remove this table from the report".
    This happens to all existing and new created reports.  The data fills correctly when previewing.  The problem only occurs when Verifying Database.
    I thought it might be an ODBC driver problem so I upgraded my driver to v 3.525.1117.  At least I think I upgraded it I did not check the version before I installed SQL 2005 SP2.  After installing SP2 it seemed to be fine but a week later the problem came back.  Mysterious eh?
    I am trying to launch a report from VB6 using RDC and rpt file.  I get logged in correctly but at .viewreport I get a generic error message.  I am assuming the problem is related the the issue I raise in this forum post.

    I fixed the problem.  In CR XI Developer Designer window I opened up Database-SetDataSourceLocation.  I noticed that in "Properties" the last item "Use DSN Default Properties": was set to True.  I changed this value to False.  Now this problem is solved.
    I am Not using Windows Authentication I am using SQLServer authentication.  In my code I was passing SQLServer Authentication credentials.
    I opened up all of my CR 7 reports in CR XI and changed this setting on both the Main and the Subreort property in the SetDataSourceLocation dialog box and now all my reports work.  I am a happy camper.
    I don't know if this is a CR 7 conversion to CR XI only situation or not.  Hope this information helps someone else.

  • ORA-06502 on "Help Text" region when changing pages on a tabular form

    Hello everybody,
    We are developing an application on Apex 4.1.0.00.32. This application have some pages with tabular forms and these pages uses a page zero as template. In this page zero, we have added two sidebar regions: a list region to navigate on the application and a help text to describe how to use our application.
    The problem occurs when the tabular split the records into pages (since it has more records that it can show on a single page). When the user clicks to change to another page, Apex raises an ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error as described below:
    Erro ao renderizar a região "Ajuda". ORA-06502: PL/SQL: erro: erro de conversão de caractere em número numérico ou de valor

    Obs: Our database is in Brazilian Portuguese, so I guess it will be hard for some people to understand the first two lines! :)
    We have tried to change the pagination style of the tabular form and change the region model of the help text but the problem still happens.
    Does anyone an ideia about what this may be?
    Thanks in advance!

    I am getting the exact same message, to the line number, also in APEX 4.1.0.0.32.

  • How to update the table when change list item in classic report

    hi ,
    i worked with apex 4.2 and i create normal classic report with one select list(named loved)Column ,now i want to update table when user change the list with new value ,i can't create dynamic action to do this,i create check box with primary key and loop for check item to update the table but i can't get the value of list item. and for more speed the user want to do this when change the list value.
    my question
    1- how to do this by javascript and get the value from list item and update the table with new value
    2- is i must use API to create list item so i can get the value of item in report or what.
    Thanks
    Ahmed

    I coded the following to give you direction:
    1. In the "Element Attributes" section of the DEPTNO column, I call a javascript function as:
    onchange = "javascript:updateTable(this);"2. I wrote a simple javascript function that shows an alert when the user changes the select list as:
    <script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
    function updateTable(pThis)
        var vRow = pThis.id.substr(pThis.id.indexOf('_')+1);
        alert('Row# - '+ vRow + ' has the value - ' + pThis.value);
    </script>Now, you can call a AJAX on-demand process inside the javascript function to update the database value.
