When charging iPhone

When I was in the office charging my iPhone using my computer there is a sudden power failure that causes my computer force to shut down and now my Phone can't charge at all

You need to force your iPhone into recovery mode and set it up again from the bac-up. Follow this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

  • When charging iPhone, cannot get calls

    Hi there,
I realized as I am charging my iPhone after installing Snow Leopard, my phone won't take calls and is unavailable, thus flies straight to my voice messages. Also I tested SMS to my own phone using my wife's phone, still no messages until I unplug.
This is very inconvenient, and also takes about 10 minutes after unplugging before I start getting my messages.
Is there some fix for this? Or did I accidently pressed some function on iTunes or on my iPhone to not take calls when phone is charging...?
    Thanks
    Cal

    Hi generalstudies;
You might get more responses if you would post over on the iPhone forum instead of the Snow Leopard forum.

  • Loop when charging iPhone 6 plus (Brazil) on mac but NOT on electrical outlet (other devices remain normal on my mac)

    Hi guys,
When I discharge 100% my new iphone 6 plus and plug into my mac, it starts looping/stuck on apple's logo and reboot...
But when I take the phone to electrical outlet it stops the loop and charge normally
Other apple devices remain charging on my mac
    iOS3, 64GB
    Brazil

Did you try a different USB port, USB cable or different computer?

  • Repeated chime when charging iPhone via mains power

When attempting to charge my iPhone 4s with mains power I get a repeated chime, and the phone will not charge. However, when using the same USB cable, and charging via a USB port the phone charges normally, without the repeated chimes

Yes, I'm using the original adapter. I confess I haven't checked for lint etc but will do so. I am able to recharge my iPad, using the same adapter and the USB-Lightning cable, in the same socket. I am currently using the original charging cable connected to a powered USB socket and the iPhone is charging normally.
Should add that I took the phone in to my nearest Genius bar 2 weeks ago after experiencing problems on voice reception during phone calls (though my voice seemed to be received OK by recipients). Problem appears to have been solved by a restore to factory settings reset. Probably unconnected with current issue.

  • Does WiFi stay connected when charging iPhone

I've noticed lately that when I wake my iPhone from standby when it is plugged into a power source (charger or usb on my computer) that the WiFi connection is already there (the phone has been on standby overnight in the case of the charger). I get the impression that the iPhone is maintaining the WiFi connection when it has external power, but have not seen any references to this behavior. I have noticed this since at least 3.1, don't remember if earlier or not.
My iPhone is up to date with OS 3.2.1.
This is not a problem, just curious if anyone else is seeing this behavior?

Just wanted to throw what I have seen in. I have an AEBS in my house. When my phone is in low power mode with screen dark and I wake it up, the symbol moves from 3G to Wi-fi symbol. When I open my Airport Utility, it shows me the number of users. Unless I actually have Safari on the iphone open and running, it only shows one user (my MBP). When I open Safari on my iphone, then I show 2 users. If I close Safari, it moves back to one user...

  • Battery icon never full when charging iPhone with iTunes 8.2

I'm 99% sure this just started happening with iTunes 8.2
It's pretty minor as things go, but still annoying. After charging, my iPhone shows fully charged both with the large Battery while docked and on the little icon in the upper right corner of the iPhone.
However, the iTunes icon still shows the lightning bolt.
The iTunes icon does progress from being empty to full during the charging process, but never gets to the point where the full "plug" replaces the charging "lightning bolt"
Is anyone else experiencing this with an original iPhone?
One thing I did consider is that if iTunes 8.2 is being released in advance of the next gen iPhone and that device has a larger capacity battery, the iTunes might not think an older iPhone is completely charged when, in fact, it is. This seems a bit far fetched to me, but would be a bug nonetheless.
Please pass along your experiences here...

    More information....
I left my iPhone docked after the iPhone itself indicated that it was fully charged.
About three hours after the iPhone displayed the completed charge plug, the iTunes charging icon finally changed from lightning bolt to plug.
Bottom line, either the iPhone displays a charge complete icon too early, or iTunes does too late.
Now, I'm starting to wonder if my formerly far fetched idea about iTunes being, umm, tuned more towards the next gen iPhone's batter may not have been that far fetched.
    Anyone else?

  • Is Voltage Converter Necessary when charging iPhone 3GS in Amsterdam

I posted this question before and was told that all I needed to charge my iPhone in The Netherlands was a 2 prong plug converter (round pins) to convert my current plug to theirs. Apple sells a set for lots of countries, but I already have one for Netherlands. Discussions here said, just use the plug converter. Then I called Apple and they me that I also need to use a voltage converter in addition to the plug converter. I know USA voltage is 120 and Netherlands in 220 or 230. Will my phone burn out without a voltage converter? Apple says it might, yet they don't sell the voltage converters to go with the plugs they sell. They suggest Radio Shack, etc. What voltages will my iPhone handle? I don't want to buy another piece to carry over there if not needed. I keep getting different answers, even from Apple techs. Who knows for sure? Thanks for help.

look on the actual adapter itself and in very hard to read writing it will say the voltage range inputs of the charger.
Its not about what we say, its about what it says on your device. Our Euro/UK ones got from 1110 to 230 but thats means nothing as yours are whatever they say on the charger.
Buy a Euro standard charger at the airport on the arrivals side - probably only $10.

  • When charging iPhone 5s becomes unresponsive

No idea why. Tried turning off iCloud backup, tried hard reset (multiple times).

I'm charging my 5s for the first time as I type this message. At first, it became unresponsive as soon as I started charging it, but then, a few minutes later, it rebooted itself. That's the definition of "not-cool".
    Edit:
After the reboot it was just fine again.

  • All my contacts was lost when charging iphone.

How to recover if no back up in icloud.

This is not normal behavior of an iPhone.
Please take a look at the following article on how to back up your device and restore from a back up.

Also, consider setting up an iCloud account and enable contacts so iCloud keeps a copy of your contacts.

  • My iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1 become very hot when charged almost reach 100% and will shut down itself.

My iPhone 5s with iOS 7.1 become very hot when charged almost reach 100 % and will shut down itself. Then I need to off the power and let it cool down first before I can on the phone back. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks.

    Hi Limfromsi,
It is normal to an extent for the iPhone to get warm during charging. If your iPhone is currently in a case, you may want to try charging it without one and see if the issue occurs, as the design of the iPhone uses the exterior of the device as a cooling surface. For more information about iPhones and temperature, you may find the following article helpful:

  • How do you know when your iphone 4s is done charging if your phone is turned off?

Does it have to be turned on to see if it's hit 100%? I have an older generation Ipod that has a battery symbol when charging and you know it's 100% charged when all the bars are full- it comes up as an icon on the screen. This is my first time charging the phone since I got it so just nervous if it's actually charging.

If you plug your iPhone in to charge, even if it is turned off, it will turn on.
However, if you turn it off during a charge, there will be no notification that it has completed its charge.

From my experiences with the same problem, I can tell you that it seems to only happen when the transformer is running on a modified sine-wave.
What do you mean by that?  A "dirty" source of power where there are a lot of transients on the AC line?
