When choosing to use the Apple wireless keyboard,re-pairing must be done every time. Is this normal?

I must go through the pairing process every time I use the wireless keyboard with the Apple TV. Is this normal, and to be expected?

This will most likely help a bunch.....it did a complete fix for me.  Follow it step-by-step.
1.   Open "System Preferences".   ( computer only), (Windows computer unknown)
2.   Open "Network".
3.   Click on the "Sprocket with down arrow".
4.   Select "Make Service Order"
5.   Move the connection your using (Wifi, Ethernet, etc.) to the top, and click Apply.
6.   If you selected Ethernet, then turn OFF Wifi in the top menu.
7.   Shut DOWN your computer and then restart after completely shutting down.
7a. Either restart or unplug and plug in the Apple TV (insure your logged into Home Share after restart).
7b. Start iTunes (insure your logged into Home Share).
Enjoy life again!

  • Is it possible to use the Apple wireless keyboard with the iPhone 6? Will the Magic Mouse work with iMovie on iPhone6 Plus?

iPhone 6 page says that iMovie is a (free) application available for iPhone 6. When I use it on the desktop I need a mouse. Should I expect all controls to be touch-sensitive, or is it possible to use the wireless Magic Mouse? Similarly, if I want to type an email or a long document, is it possible to use the Mac wireless keyboard to enter text? With the iPhone 6 Plus taking over for laptops (phablet), it seems to me that input tools are relevant. Maybe what I'm asking is whether the iPhone6 (OS8) has drivers for these devices. Please advise.

Apps that are designed for iOS devices such as the iOS version of iMovie are intended to be used entirely by touch. It's worth noting that iMovie for iOS is not absolutely identical to iMovie for Mac OS.

  • How do you get the Apple Wireless Keyboard to accept function keys?

I use the Apple Wireless Keyboard with my iPad2 and I use the VPN to connect to my work-related software which requires that I use some of the function keys as actual F1, F2, F3,...etc.  When I hit F2, the iPad2 responds with the Screen Brighter action.  How do I get the keyboard input to just be F2?  Thanks!

Thanks. But I tried that and nothing happens.  I've looked though all the System Preferences sections and can't find anything on this.

Did you turn off Bluetooth after turning off the Apple Wireless Keyboard? Open Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off.
Another thing you can do is, before turning off the keyboard, select a text box on the iPad (for example, when you type an email or you type on a Safari webpage) and press Eject key on the keyboard, so the virtual keyboard will show

  • Is the Apple Wireless Keyboard fully compatible with Windows 7 in Boot Camp?

If you have an iMac running Snow Leopard and Windows 7, will the Apple Wireless Keyboard work properly in Windows 7 (via Boot Camp)?
I'm asking because a friend of mine has an Apple Wired Keyboard that they want to get rid of, and upgrade to an Apple Wireless Keyboard. However, their concern is that the Apple Wireless Keyboard won't work properly (or reliably) when they run Windows 7 on their iMac.

I'm using an Apple Wireless Keyboard running Boot Camp and Windows 7 64 bit right now typing this.   Seems to run just fine under Windows 7 for me.  Some of the familiar Windows keyboard keys are not present, of course, though there are key mappings to get to those too.  I actually like this keyboard a lot, under Windows 7 or OS X.

  • Are the apple wireless keyboards and mac book pro keyboards the same size?

Are the apple wireless keyboards and the mac book pro keyboards the same size? I have the most current wireless keyboard and I use it with my iPad. Thanks in advance

I took it to the same shop where i purchased they sent it to the apple
service centre and it is a week and no one informed me abt the problem
    or the action on it.
We are mainly just users to users here, and sometimes a Apple folk will respond, but it's just a direction to a Apple support document, no service or account issues are handled here.
Will they replace the mac book pro as it is still in warranty
We don't know what Apple will decide to do in your case, the best source of information is the shop you brought it to.
They might be in the process of fixing it, or they might be deciding they need to keep your machine for investigation.
Apple will take care of you, make sure you buy AppleCare and a external drive for TimeMachine if you haven't already.

  • Can i Use The Apple Wired Keyboard With Camera Connector Kit

Can i Use The Apple Wired Keyboard With Camera Connector Kit
    3g 64gb verizon

People report it is still possible to use a wired USB keyboard with the CCK, if you use a powered USB hub to get around the "not enough power" error message.  (I have done this with an older Apple USB keyboard my non-jailbroken iPad1 on iOS 4.3.3.)  Normally, powered USB hubs have a AC power adapter so you lose portability unless you can find a battery powered USB hub.  At this point, the (in)convinience of the USB hub becomes an issue, depending on what you get.
And wired USB keyboard were never supported for the iPad.  So there's no guarantee that it will continue to work with future iPad updates from Apple.  So best to go with a Bluetooth keyboard unless you have a specific USB keyboard that you "must" use.  If you have all the equipment already, I say give it a try.  But I would not recommend trying a USB keyboard if you have to purchase anything.

  • Using the A1016 Wireless Keyboard with Windows

So, this isn't a question, it's more like a 'For What It's Worth'. I found some bad information in some archived posts here, and it seems I'm not allowed to resurrect them lol.  Anyway, the rumor on the forum is that this old keyboard won't work with Windows 7, 8, etc., but that is just wrong!
    http://www.silly-science.co.uk/2012/06/05/pairing-apple-1st-gen-keyboard-a1016-w ith-windows-7/
    1) First, have another functioning keyboard hooked up to your PC, in such a way that it is fully operational as an input device for said PC.
    2) Batteries in your wireless keyboard are good, right?
    3) Slide the switch on the keyboard to 'on'.
    4) Go into the Bluetooth control panel in Windows and if the keyboard shows up as a device, hit the connect button.
    5) ** Here's the new part ** on your wireless keyboard, type 1 2 3 4 [return].
    6) Now Windows will prompt you for a code. Type 1 2 3 4 [return].
Yay! I typed this on a homemade Windows 8.1 PC using my antique Apple Wireless Keyboard A1016. Serenity.

Success! I finally got the older, plastic, white Apple A1016 Bluetooth Keyboard to work on Windows7. I have tried several attempts and multiple days and dont remember the exact steps but I wanted to let folks know the general steps and patience in making it work. You will likely have to try many many times to get it working.
-First, stabilize your Windows BT device drivers i.e., make sure your bluetooth driver works with another device such as a BT mouse. This way, you know your BT driver is working correctly in Windows 7
-Turn on the A1016 power switch until it starts to blink. On your BT menu, click "Add Device" or something equivalent.
-Once it detects the A1016, you can right click on the BT KB icon. I noticed that the first tab did not display the "HID Device" check box option but the 2nd tab, allowed me to change the name of the KB. It is fine if you do not see the "HID Device" check box, as suggested by other sites.
-Click to Connect --- this is where I spent multiple days to get it right.
-It may or may not display a page where it asks you for a pairing code and sometimes, a screen just disappears in a flash. I got multiple pages where I was asked to enter a code (and then failed to connect), got to a page where it asked if I wanted to enter my Code or System generated (also failed to connect) but finally I got to a point, when I hit Connect or Next, it just stayed on the same page (as though nothing is happening), except that is says "Connecting"
At this point, enter "0000" or "1234" or any series of #s on an existing/usb or wired keyboard. Immediately enter the same "0000" or your choice of #s on the A1016 and hit return. Success!
I have spent countless days googling suggested steps and have seen all the problems that others have described but entering on the wired keyboard and then entering the same code on the A1016 was the step that made it work. I liked the look and feel of the A1016 hence I spent an enormous amount of time to make it work but I am glad I did.

  • How long are the batteries for the Apple Wireless Keyboard supposed to last

I have an Apple Wireless Keyboard using Bluetooth to connect to my MBP. I'm using the keyboard about 10–12 hours a day. The battery typically lasts for only a month or two. Is this a normal life, or should it last longer than that? I've heard of experiences in which the battery can last upwards of a year.

You might as well use the macbook pro keyboard or purchase a wired keyboard to save on a monthly battery bill.
If 2 or 3 bucks every 1-2 months is that big of an issue, I agree.
But I bought and use mine for convenience, and that convenience is worth far more than the $2-3 for 3 AA alkaline batteries I spend as needed, even if it were on a monthly basis. Of course, if the built in keyboard serves you better, or a wired KB, certainly that would be the way to go (though I'm not sure why one would purchase a BT AWKB if that were the case). Think of what you spend money on for convenience. $3 a month, or 10 cents per day, or less than a penny per hour, for the convenience you apparently want (you bought the KB) works fine from my perspective. I look at the cost for me to golf, bike, fish, canoe, camp, ski, snowboard, scuba dive, eat out, travel, buy electronics and furniture, vehicles, clothes, etc. etc. etc. and if I could get those down to a penny an hour . . . well, it isn't going to happen.

  • HT1171 How do I forward-delete in Windows using an Apple Wireless Keyboard?

http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1171 says that forward-delete maps to but that key doesn't exist on an Apple Wireless Keyboard (as far as I can tell). Anyone know how to achieve this, as well as home, page up, and page down functions?
I've tried https://code.google.com/p/uawks/downloads/detail?name=Install UAWKS 2008.09.17.exe and uxsoft.cz/projects/awk, but these don't support forward-delete, home, page up, or page down.
    Thanks!

Fn and delete works for deleting stuff to the right of the cursor, if that's what you mean?
