When clicking on an Email link it defaults to Internet Explorer browsing and I want it to use the Firefox browser
An email will have a "Click here" link and when I click it goes to a internet explorer browsing, not a firefox browser
That is is always a problem when you are using multiple profiles and Firefox isn't running.
It might work if no profile is selected (i.e. marked as Default=1 in profiles.ini).<br />
You can use desktop shortcut that open with a specific profile (-P "profile").<br />
There is also a setting in the Profile Manager (Don't ask at startup).

There are 2 settings to check for email programs, one is the Windows default email program which you probably already have set to Outlook. I want to eliminate an autofill choice that pops up when I sign into yahoo using the Firefox browser. I tried yahoo help which said hover over the unwanted line and press delete, but that did not work. Do you know how I can get rid of this autofill? I am using a Mac if that makes a difference. When I click on a link in Thunderbird to open a web page, and Firefox is not already open, I want to have the user profile screen presented so that I can select which profile to use for the Firefox session. Instead, it opens the last used profile. Is there a way to do this?

i have set my new mac air up including the email but when i send mail it sends one to my iphne and my ipad, as this is my first mac air is there a tick box that requires unchecking

Everytime I check my email and switch websites the program will become unresponsive and freeze, then it will say "Not Responding". After waiting a while it will work again but with it freezing up for every time a page changes or refreshes it's a waste of time for me to use this browser.

Hello, I'm writing it to inform you that I am having some problems with mozilla firefox 3.6.10, and I know that other people are having the same problem: Ever I run any fullscreen application, like games, while using mozilla firefox 3.6.10, it automatically minimizes (the program, not the browser). When I open Live Mail using the Firefox browser, how often is new mail received?
Firefox 13, Windows Vista, I use Thunderbird as my default email program and in past versions of Firefox I was able use a custom button to open Thunderbird to receive mail. In the options menu - applications - there is a mailto content type but no option to open Thunderbird inbox?

When I click on an email link in Firefox, I get a message in the far left corner of my screen that says "mail to:email address". Outlook doesn't automatically open like it does in Internet Explorer. I've made Outlook my default email in Windows 7.

When I click on an email link on a webpage, my computer goes crazy. (Please note that links to other websites are fine.) My computer seems to want to link me to Internet Explorer, which I don't use often. The computer starts running very fast and hot. Sometimes, I get a multitude of identical error messages from Explorer, and it is often hard to delete them!
I thought maybe I could solve this by changing my mailto: client, but there is no link for Aol. Please help!

I tried to follow the instructions, but it didn't work. There are 10 mimeTypes.rdf files on my computer!
I tried to follow the website instructions of
Tools -> Options -> Content / File Types -> Manage
but once I get to Content I am stuck. No Manage button. (there is nothing that says File Types)
What do you suggest?

Suddenly, anytime I click on an email link in Firefox 4, Gmail opens a popup window. This does not happen if I click an email link in IE 8.0 or Google Chrome. In Tools > Options > Applications, Thunderbird is set as my default in Firefox 4. If I go to Start > Control Panel > Internet Options, Thunderbird is the default email client as well. Clearing cookies and settings did not resolve this problem. What is going on?
I have the same problem, and I also wondered if Google toolbar has anything to do with it. There GMAIL was set as the default mail application at first. I have removed that setting, but Firefox 4.0.1 continues to use GMAIL instead of Outlook which is my selection for mailto handling.

I just downloaded Google Chrome and use both Google Chrome and Firefox as my browsers. However, whenever I click on an email link, it opens up Chrome and I want it to open Firefox. How do I fix this?
Go into FF Preferences & set it to be your default browser. This way when you click on an email link in Chrome, FF will open.

That is a bug, so you need to wait until this get fixed.
