When converting word doc to pdf with Acrobat words getting cut off?

Hi all,
As you can see from this example:
When converting from word document the words on the pages in the final PDF are getting cut off on the edge of the page?
I've adjusted the margins in page layout in MS Word to Normal, Moderate & Wide etc, etc
Never ever had this problem before...does anybody have any idea why or what I could do?
Thanks in advance.

As a quick check, set the printer to the Adobe PDF printer in WORD and then check for the proper operation. Also be sure the paper dimensions and orientation of your document and the printer properties match up (I have had some problems with the orientation when I have auto-rotate on). You may have to play some to get something to work. I have done that before and settled on a process that works for me, but I can't claim it all makes perfect sense. To many things are going on in some sense.

    New to this.

    Hi adog,
No worries! We'll get this sorted out for you. I'm not sure that I follow, though. You converted a Word file to PDF, and now you want to convert that file back to Word, and then to PowerPoint? That seems like a lot of steps, when you could import your Word document into a PowerPoint file.
If I'm missing something, and misunderstanding your process, please let me know. It's best to avoid unnecessary conversions from one format to another to another, if possible.
    Best,
    Sara

  • Line spacing (leading) when converting web page to PDF with Acrobat Pro 8.1.2

I recently upgraded from Acrobat Pro version 7.0.9 to version 8.1.2 (Windows XP Pro). In many cases, when I "Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file" using the Adobe PDF toolbar in Internet Explorer, the spacing between lines is much larger with version 8 than it was with version 7. Has anyone else observed this? Is there any way to control leading?

How long have you been having the issue?

  • When I minimize my window, the scrollbars and tabs get cut off and I can't get to them.

The tabs get cut off right in the middle of a tab, and the scroll bars disappear so I can't change what part of the screen I'm viewing. This is particularly annoying when watching netflix. Does anyone have a fix for this?

It is possible that the screen is too wide or too high and that the scroll bars fall off.<br />
Open the system menu via Alt+Space and see if you can resize that window.<br />
If that works then close Firefox to save that setting.

  • Links breaking when converting from word docs to PDFs in Acrobat X Pro

I have experienced this same problem when trying to convert word documents to PDFs in Preview:
For hyperlinks that are active in MS Word (2011 version for Mac), but take up more than one line (they include a line break), the same links in the converted PDFs will only recognize the first line of text in the hyperlink (the hyperlinks in the docs I need to convert are the full URLs that are also hyperlinks to the same URL). As a result these links open a URL that is shortened and doesn't exist.
Is this a common problem, and is there a way have the full links be recognized automatically when converting to PDFs?
I have been able to get around this so far by creating the "invisible rectangle" links in Acrobat behind where the full link should be, but it is painstaking for large docs with many links.
Any help would be much appreciated!
    Cheers,
    Tim

    Afraid not
This is an Old Problem that has been banted about since Acrobat has existed. We have two companies that are blaming each other for the Problem Adobe and Microsoft. Instead of Blaming each other Adobe needs to get their head  out of their back side and fix the problem. I mean 15 years is enough to do blaming.
You can take the same PDF's with links created Mac Office  Document and open in Office for PC and create  the PDF and it works in Acrobat. Or you can create the PDF in MacOffice and open in Acrobat PC and it works. So the problem is squarely with Acrobat. But they refuse to fix it.
You might download and try PDFPen Pro and see if  can create working Links in it. or a Utility called CUPS-PDF. CUPS-PDF installs a Print Driver Much Like Acrobat Use to.
You go to it to create the PDF. It is sent to a special folder. and the PDF are named with number appended to begining (example: Job_1TheMoon.docx.pdf).  Rename as desired and open may have links.

  • Problems with some photos when converting Publisher files to PDF using Acrobat 9

I tried to make a pdf of a publisher document that has a number of photographs. Two of the photographs appear grey with streaks -looks like some of the colours are not converting properly. The same document works fine with Acrobat 8 but not with version 9. Anybody have this experience?

Graffit's suggestion did not work for me.
I work for the Ontario government, and we are still using Office 2003. I am not sure what version of 9 we are using as we get bulk licences to use the program. I only got the program in August 2010. I used the default settings in the program.
I try to open the publisher document in Adobe. I have also tried opening the publisher document, then converting it to the PDF. Both have two of the photos that don't convert properly. The other photos are fine.
The two photos in question were given to us by the Communications department. I don't have the originals. The photos were copied from other document. I don't know what the format of the orginal photos were. The person in Communications has not responded to my request yet.

  • Can't convert an originally Word doc from PDF back to Word

I'm running Windows 7 and MS Office 2010. I edited a 65 pages long doc, which I was recommended to convert to a PDF. Said and done. However now i want to make changes in that doc. I've tried to convert it back to Word but I don't succeed in doing it in spite of all your different advice.
And, as a matter of fact, I'm rather inexperienced in computing.

Hi bernd, I've succeeded in converting from PDF to something - Word perhaps - but it's impossible to edit anything in this converted doc. The cursor just twinkle beside the word I want to edit.

  • Batch Processing .doc 2 .pdf with Acrobat 8 Pro and Office 2004 on Tiger

I have been through the forum posts and for each relavent thread there is the easy batch process that can be done to solve this issue - however, the major flaw I have is (as seen in the attachment) no option to be able to open Word docs. How do I enable Acrobat Pro to be able to open word docs??!?!? It really is an answer I have not been able to find on the web anywhere!

Then what do you make of this persons post: http://forums.adobe.com/message/1098036#1098036
"Create a new batch sequence. Select 'Run commands on Selected Folder'. In the source file options enable 'Microsoft Office Word'. Then let run the sequence."
I am able to work out the whole process except in my Acrobat there is no option for "Microsoft Word" as Bernd suggests - how do I get it on the list.

  • Border on JPEG when converted from doc to PDF

When I convert a document to PDF some of the jpegs have a border on the left side and across the top. It has been happening for awhile, I have updated to the current reader 10.3, I am using Win 7 and Office 2007. I am able to create a pdf without the borders on another computer that is using XP and Office 2007.

Looks like a issue of Office 2007.

  • How to make images searchable (OCR) when printing from Word 2007 to PDF with Acrobat 10

Good Day, I have checked several forums and the help file, but I can't seem to get a straight answer on this issue.
Our office creates many documents in Microsoft Word 2007 that contain both typed text AND images.  For example, I have a document with a summary section and then a .jpg of an event from Facebook.  We usually Print the document using Adobe PDF and the resulting PDF is searchable with the Find tool.  The problem is that the images contain text and we want that to be searchable as well.  I found posts saying to take the PDF and Print it again as an image and then run the Recognize Text tool.  I have tried this and it does indeed work, although the resulting PDF is grainy looking (even at 600 dpi).
What I would like to know is if there is a way to get the images to be searchable during the conversion from Word to PDF. I could educate my co-workers on how to do this and save the trouble of having to touch each document more than once. Also, I do not like the graininess of the image nor the extra steps involved to convert each document.  It will require a lot more hands on maintenance than I have time for.
Any assistance or clues you can provide on this topic would be appreciated.  Thank you in advance, Paula C.

  • Batch Convert .msg emails to PDF with Acrobat

Seem to be having a problem converting a large amount of emails to PDF using the Acrobat plug-in in Outlook 2007. Following are system setup:
    Office 2007
    XP Pro
    Acrobat 9 Standard
We have a large volume of emails stored in Worldox GX2 and I want to convert them to PDF from Outlook. I check the files out of Worldox to a local folder and drag and drop the .msg files to a folder in Outlook. When I try to select any number of them and then convert to PDF I get the following error:
Details of Email to PDF conversion:
    Failed to Convert:
From: , Subject: , Date: , Status: Not an email message
This happens even if I try to convert just one email. HOWEVER, if I open any given email then by double-clicking it in the outlook folder and then file-convert to PDF, it converts fine. What?!?!
    Any help would be appreciated!!!

    Thanks,
I just found that out, too.
What I'd like to find out is how to fix this.

  • Having Problems Converting Word Doc to PDF and Retaining Links

My company recently upgraded company wide to Reader 9 (for Windows). My department develops documentation and we currently use Acrobat Professional 8. Recently we have had several issues where we try to convert a Word 2003 or PowerPoint 2003 doc to PDF with Acrobat Prof 8 and the converted PDF does not retain links when our users open it. The most they get is a information bubble when tehy hover over it that shows the link URL or indocument location, they are unable to seledct the link. Is this a compatability issue between Reader 9 and Acrobat 8 Prof? I have tried everything i know to resolve the issue. Could someone, please offer any helpful info they can? Thanks!

I withdraw the question. The documents we were given were in Mark Up mode on the Word 2003 side of things. We turned it off and it seems to be working fine now.

  • How to convert large Word 2007 doc (1200 KB) to PDF with Acrobat 9 Standard

I'm trying to convert a large Word 2007 document to PDF with Acrobat 9 Standard.  It gets as far as 58% and then says it is unable to complete the conversion.  How can I fix this?

The file you are working on is really not that large. There probably is a problem on a certain page of the document. Break the document in half. Try to create a pdf file from each half. Hopefully, one half prints properly and one-half does not. Take the half that does not break it in half.  Try to convert each half into a pdf, etc...
Eventually, you will find which page has a problem. Most likely there is a graphic or a font used on that page that has problem. Most likely a graphic. That graphic will need to be recreated.
