Normal Payment: -2
BACS Processing: -2
Pay Advice: -2
Cut Off: -7
what do these values mean in a Monthly payroll...?

so you mean this functionality is not available for US and UK Leg.??Is that what u meant?

When opening a new tab, how to you define what page loads

I downloaded an application to try to "speed up" my computer. I'm usually prety good about making sure i know whats being downoaded but it downloaded yahoo something or other (toolbar i think) and now when I open a new tab in firefox it goes to yahoo. (*although when i click "home" it goes to the firefox page). any help?
also anyway to define the new tab page kinda like they do in google chrome? (kinda like a "home" screen)

When you are defining the elements of the datatype there are columns where you can do what you need:
column type: here you choose the type of data of the element
it can be a standard type or a user defined one (if you click one time only it should appear an icon in the right for input help: click there and choose the type you need)
column occurence : in a similar way of column type here you define the cardinality of the element (min occurence and max occurence)
setting min occurrence: 1, max occurrence 1 or unbounded --> required
mmin occurrence 0, max occurrence 0, 1 or unbounded --> optional
about the attributes there are directly the choice between required or optional.
 column details : here you define the length of the element if it is a string or a lot of other things if the type is a different one.

What's the data type when defining a KF to show an integer with a sign?

We want show some days difference which should be an integer with either a positive or negative sign. I used to design a KF with type of Number with "DEC - Counter or amount field with comma and sign" as the Data Type, but find it shows 25.000 if the day difference is 25 days. We want to show it as 25 other than 25.000. Then what type would we pick when defining the KF? Use Integer as the type? But we also want it to show the sign symbol.
The type field is dimmed as long as the InfoObj. is activated that I have to remove this field. I've delete all the data loaded in ODS, PSA and etc., and I have successfully remove this KF from InfoSource, but when I try to remove it from the ODS, always get the msg "Can't move/delete locked InfoObjects" even if the InfoObject is not locked (I've tried SM12 to delete all locked entries and also tried relog on, but not helpful). If someone gives any idea, I would be very appreciated on how to remove this KF from ODS and also let me what type should I use when creating a new KF which only shows integer with a sign!

Now after I right click the ODS and select "Delete Data", the KF eventually gets removed from the ODS without any error, then I continue to delete this InfoObj.
However, when I run the InfoPackage to load data to the ODS, get a msg (see below in between two dashed lines):
Syntax error in GP_ERR_RSDRO_UPDATE, row 1,210 (-> long text)
Message no. RG102
Diagnosis
The data object "I_S_OLDDATA" does not have a component called "/BIC/Z_field".
Where Z_field is the InfoObject we deleted. With this error, that's even worse since that stops any data coming in! How to get rid of this error that we can continue to load data?

How to Define a new tax, same as WHT - 11i AP

Hi,
We use 11.5.8 Oracle Payables, We need to define a new tax (royalty tax) exactly similar to Withholding Tax.
In the invoice distribution the tax line should be negative figure which will deduct the payment amount just like in WHT.
Please let us know what type of Tax we should define to solve this and how to apply it in Invoices.

You description of Scenario is indicating that you should withhold a part of Invoice amount i.e the Amount is inclusive of Invoice Amount.
Hence I think WHT is suitable for you.
and how to apply it in Invoices.
Define Withholding Tax options in Payable Options window.
Define a Withholding Tax Code and Group.
Enable WHT at Supplier Site and assign particular Tax group to Supplier Header or Site as per requirement.
Define Special Calender Withholding Tax.
When supplier is selected at Invoice level, Withholding Tax group shall be automatically populated at invoice level, which will take care of Withholding at the time of Invoice Validation or Payment as per Options set.

Define a new business group

My company has been divided into two so i would like to define a new business group for the sister company.
My question is in what ways will the defining of the new business group affect the creating of the new payroll and elements for the sister company.
Is it possible to use the same elements that were defined for the company initially or is it that i will have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company?
The reason why i am asking is because there will be no change in the allowance and/or deductions that will be performed on the emps that are in sister company and the actual company.

Is your business already decided that you should go for a new BG for your sister company??
If you are planning to go for a new BG, then you have to do setup/implementation for your sister company from scratch.. You have to define all the elements all over again for the sister company.. It's to be treated as a different entity now as it is detached from Parent..and this is required for better reporting purpose..
Since you informed that your sister company is going to follow the same set of rules /approach like parent company, then why don't you keep both business in same umbrella ..I mean BG..
In this case your sister company implementation is going to be treated as a rollout or an extension to parent...
Now choice is yours to decide where you want to stand.. :)

new gl is active but there is only one legder (this is leading ledger 0L) is active. now I want to define a new ledger for IFRS purposes.
are there any special points that should I consider?

generally when we upload the opening balance to leading ledger automatically update non leading ledgers based on the accounting rules given at your configuration. but your case after updated opening balance, you have created/activated new non leading ledger, i am not sure just try in development, down load the opening balance from leading ledger and upload the balance to new non leading ledger by select the new ledger group by using BDC or any other program, take your abaper help

DSWP - Nothing happens when you create new system

How are you?
We are on Solution Manager 4.0. I have already defined 3 systems in transaction DSWP.
I have recently applied support packs 9 and 10. Now when I try to define a new system in transaction DSWP, nothing happens.
When I click on the "New: button, I am prompted to enter the system and the Language.
I enter PRD for system and keep the Language as EN.
I then have 2 options "continue" or "cancel".
No matter what button I press, nothing happens.
I then tried to copy an existing system, and again nothing happens.
Any help that you provide would be appreciated.

Thanks for the response.
SAP actually came back with a fix.
I had to apply Note 1008717 )HTMLViewer: Postdata of length more than 255 gets)
Once I applied this my problem was fixed.
This was working prior to me implementing SP 9 and 10 on SolMan 4.0. So the above note might be needed for all who implement this support pack.

Problem when define Value range for data element

Dear
When I define a new data element in ABAP Dictionary, for example, ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST.
I use domain ZDOMAIN_TEST.
(Data type is DEC, the length is 10, and decimals is 2 with sign.)
Now, I want to restrict that, user can ONLY input the value from 10 to 100.
From ABAP course and the Internet, I switch to "Value Range" tab, and define 10 for Lower Limit, 100 for Upper Limit in Intervals section.
And write the simple program.
PARAMETERS test TYPE ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST.
WRITE: test.
And run it.
Line: -
But, there is a problem.
When I input 200 for test, the program still run and display 200 to screen without any error report or notification. The ABAP runtime system doesn't check the input value.
I want to config for the domain that can satisfies, if the user input the wrong value (e.g: 200 in the previous case), the program will auto raise the error report, or exception, or sth like that.
Any help is welcome.

Try to attach key word VALUE CHECK to your PARAMETER statement.
I.e:
PARAMETERS test TYPE ZDATA_ELEMENT_TEST VALUE CHECK.
Note: The addition VALUE CHECK cannot be used together with the additions AS CHECKBOX, RADIOBUTTON, or NO-DISPLAY.

You really need to start loooking at the user guide and the 2 day tutorial for what is called "f?p" syntax.. It explains how to make links within your application.
This is what you would place in an html region..

SLD - Define a new Product / SC

Hello everybody,
anyone know, how to define a new product which has different Software Units among them? (E.g. Product: SAP ERP 2004)
When i define a new product and attach SCs to this product they will all get stored under the same Software Unit. I dont get the seperation like in product SAP ERP 2004 done.
Any idea how to get it done?
System: WAS 6.40 SPS14

I got a new laptop and downloaded iTunes, when I put new music on it for the first time, my entire music library disappeared, leaving me with only newly downloaded music in my library. My iPod still has all my old music.

Recently, I bought a new laptop (a Lenovo), so I downloaded iTunes to it. When I bought new music from iTunes for the first time on the new computer, I went to my music library and there was no music, except for the new songs I had just bought. I have no idea what happened, I've had hundreds of songs I've bought from iTunes or downloaded from bought CDs over the years, which are all still on my iPod (nano, from 2008), and suddenly they just didn't seem to exist. I have yet to access the iTunes account on my previous laptop to see if my music is still there, but I would assume yes. When I went to sync my iPod to my iTunes to at least get the new songs to the iPod (so that my complete library can be on at least one device), I realized that in order to sync my iPod to my iTunes, I would be deleting all my old music and replacing it with the new. So now, I only have a few new songs on my laptop's iTunes, and only my old songs on my iPod. In both cases I paid for all the music, so I don't want to just delete any of it. Is there any way to fix this?

Also-I tried to use my backup hard drive, but I wasn't able to drag/transfer/send/move any of my muic files onto my iTouch when the iTouch was connected to my computer. I can't figure out why it won't let me do that.
The only thing I can see when I open my iTouch on my computer is my file with photos. I can't see videos, music, or anything else. What's going on?

When I add new music to iTunes, it doesn't appear under artists or anywhere else in library.

The other night, I tried adding a bunch of music that I had sitting on my Seagate external hard drive to my iTunes library, which is also located on my external. I attempted to add around 1,500 songs at once. It was giving me problems at first and only added some of the music so I tried again. Now I have a problem.
When I add new music, iTunes only recognizes that I added it after I close iTunes are restart it. But then, the music doesn't show up under artists or anything. The new music shows up under the Recently Added smart playlist, the folder is located in the iTunes library, and when you search for the music it says its there, but it's not under artists or in the song list or anything.
Example:
1. Added music from Abandon All Ships! (who I didn't have before), but they don't show up under artists despite the fact that iTunes says the music is there.
2. Added music from Whitechapel (who I had before), but the album doesn't show up with the rest.
Hopefully this makes sense the way I explained it. It's all rather frustrating.
