When does MacBook Pro 2013 Retina arrives Mumbai

I'm a student in international school in Mumbai and decided to get the first MacBook in my life because all student in my grade got two choices; Bring a new laptop or extend the warrent. Mine is still good but many of my friends already have MacBook(s) so I would like to have a new one. However, all stores in Mumbai say it will come at March or April. But, who believe that? To a person who has to make it before April 15, waiting is a big deal.
So, my question is when it would be. Hope anybody to give me answer, based on the launched datas that happened before this Macbook..

  • I erased my new macbook pro 2013 retina. now to reinstall os I have problem

3 weeks ago I bought a new brand macbook pro 2013 retina; but  I erased the whole hard with the intention of making my mac look just like the 1st day. I thought starting it up again is as easy an iPhone. ( you know, when you erase an iPhone you don't have to download ios again). but then I found out it's not that easy. I tried every possible way to reinstall mavericks like building a bootable flash drive using terminal, diskmakerX, etc. but no luck; I was desperate so talked to developer od the diskmakerX app and he told me the only way for me is to redownload mavericks directly form my new macbook pro; I tried it too, but since here in my country, Iran, internet speed is really slow besides that the country IP is in usa sanctions, downloading a huge file like mavericks which is about 5.3 GB was not an easy task; anyway, everytime I started the downloading it disconnected after a while and I had to click to download  again after a few times doing so now when I try to start downloading get this error :"a server with the specified hostnamecould not be found" or "could not find installation information for this machine"
now my newly bought macbook pro is completely useless
I would really really appreciate it if anyone could help me with this friggin' issue; it is driving me crazy
Thank you in advance for your time and energy and GOD bless you

well I have a mb Air, is it ok?
No.  It has to be the same MBP model as yours.
To clone, you attach an external HDD to a MBP and open DISK UTILITY>RESTORE and fill the appropriate fields with the host MBP and the external HDD.  Click on Restore and then the data with the OSX will be copied to the external HDD.
Then attach the HDD to the recipient MBP (yours) and boot the MBP with the OPTION key held down.  The external HDD will appear, select it and boot the MBP.  Again select DISK UTILITY>RESTORE.  Select the external HDD as the Source and the MBP as the Destination and click on Restore.  The data with the OSX will be copied on to your MBP from the external HDD.  It then should be functional.
    Ciao.

  • Does MacBook Pro 13" Retina Supports 2560x1600 HDMI Output?

Hi, I tried one of the HDMI to DVI adapter on my MacBook Pro 13" Retina, and the screen only shows a 1280x800 option. I am wondering if Macbook Pro 13" Retina supports 2560x1600 HDMI output, and if it does, can it work with HDMI to DVI adapter (which adapters to be specific)? Thanks!

"Officially, Apple reports that the Retina Display MacBook Pro models can support two displays up to a 2560x1600 resolution via the Thunderbolt ports or one display with a maximum resolution of 2560x1600 via Thunderbolt and one display up to a maximum resolution of 1920x1200 via HDMI."

I am using a mifi device 4g for internet connection and it seems to always hang on the macbook
on other devices such as a mobile or tablet it seems fine....and the connection is consistent, however on the MB it is intermittent. sometimes it works for 5 minutes or so and then it will hang and i have constantly refresh or wait for it to be activated again...
there is definatley reception as it works on my other devices...
is there an update to the wifi driver or anything i can try to rectify this issue. i read that i should turn off bluetooth. however i dont think this is the best solution as i soon will be using a bluetooth speaker, although i did try this and it really didn't make much difference...

  • Macbook Pro 2013 Retina very slow

My laptop started to act very slow with the fan constantly running.
I look at the activity monitor and it shows more than 80% of resourses, I had nothing running at the time.
Decided to take it in to the Apple store, it was a miracle the computer started working perfectly and no fan noise (go figure) I decided to install Mavericks at the Genius Bar and worked perfect.
I came home only think I did was download Photoshop and an ablum on iTunes - laptop was working fine; closed it and went to bed.
This morning again, the fan is going crazy and super slow. here are some photos I had to take with my phone from AMonitor and Console.
The only different thing is that the internet in the building had changed the day before it started acting up, but my iMac runs on wireless also and no issues, thinking it might be something with the internet I disabled the internet and turned the laptop back on but still does the same, fan comes on without stopping no programs running and it does not feel hot/warm nothing at all.

  • External disks (Firewire/USB) won't boot in late Macbook Pro 2013, but do work in earlier Mac's. How to fix it?

    Hi
It always worked, till now. If I sell a Apple notebook because I bought a new one, I make a clone with CCC and with Command-R or Choose Startup disk I say to the new machine: now eat this, here's my old stuff.
It's a great way of upgrading to a new machine. But.. my late Macbook Pro 2013 (Retina, 16 Gb) doesn't allow me to boot from any of my disks: not Firewire, not USB 2.0 and not USB 3.0 (Imagine how many hours I lost to find this out). Btw, the disk image did boot on ANY OTHER Mac, besides the late Macbook Pro 2013.
In some threads, https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5499231?tstart=0, it's suggested that it has to do with a special Maverick that doesn't allow older "machines" to be booted from USB.
Anyway, here I am with a tremendous problem. Got my files safe in a clone, but my machine doesn't allow me to boot from it. Btw, out of desperation I tried to use the Migration Assistant, but that made a mess of Adobe versions.
Is there any workaround? How do I get the files + system files from my USB / Firewire disk to my Macbook Pro?

I took the precaution to update my old Macbook Pro to the same Maverick version and EFF as my new one. The problem is rooted somewhere in the special version (and not the Combo) of Maverick.
Now I need something to outwit this. Gonna try to make an image of the clone, deleting a version file and than feed it once more. Will post the results here.

  • OSX 10.9.1 macbook pro 13 retina - wifi does not reconnect automatically when waking up from sleep mode since I have a Bluetooth apple magicmouse

    Hello,
My config is OSX 10.9.1 new macbook pro 13 retina (2014).
The wifi does not reconnect automatically when waking up from sleep mode since I have a Bluetooth apple magicmouse.
It was not the case before I bought the BT mouse.
Is this problem between Wifi and bluetooth coming from the OS?
Is there a fix already available or scheduled?
    Thanks

    Hello alexandrefromfrance
Check the Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly section for steps on what to do when your MacBook Pro does not connect after waking from sleep. I have also quoted the section on troubleshooting the issue as well.
Wi-Fi: How to troubleshoot Wi-Fi connectivity
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4628
Symptom: After restarting or waking from sleep, my computer might not connect to the Internet
After waking from sleep or starting up, your computer may not show that it is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
After start or wake, your computer may indicate that it is connected to a network, but does not connect to the Internet.
    Solution
Use these steps if your computer does not automatically connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Check your TCP/IP settings in the Network pane of the System Preferences. Click the "Renew DHCP lease" button
Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Network from the View menu.
Select Wi-Fi, then click the Advanced button in the lower-left hand corner of the screen.
Click the TCP/IP tab from the top of the screen.
Click the "Renew DHCP lease" button.
Select the Wi-Fi tab and view your Preferred Networks list.
Select each network and click the minus sign to remove those networks from your Preferred Networks list.
Click OK and close the Network preferences.
Remove your stored network passwords using the Keychain Access Utility.
Open Keychain Access from /Applications/Utilities. Your window will look like this:
Remove your AirPort network passwords from the login keychain: Select the "login" keychain from the Keychain sidebar. Click the "Kind" column to order the list of keychain items by their type. Remove all entries of the kind: "AirPort network password".
Remove your AirPort network passwords from the System keychain: Select the "System" keychain from the Keychain sidebar. Click the "Kind" column to order the list of keychain items by their type. Remove all entries of the kind: "AirPort network password".

Note: The above steps will remove your Wi-Fi network passwords. If you do not know them, or if your network does not use passwords to restrict access, you should contact your network administrator.
    Restart your computer.
Join your Wi-Fi network. You will need to enter your password for your network again if it requires one.
    Regards,
    -Norm G.

  • I have purchased a MacBook Pro with Retina display, but it will not arrive within 30 days of my purchase. Does this mean I will not be able to update the software to Mountain Lion?

As already stated, I have recently purchased a MacBook Pro with Retina display. It will arrive in 4-5 weeks so I don't assume it will arrive in less than 30 days. I would like to know wheather I will still be entitled to a free softwere update to the Mountain Lion. The laptop will ofcourse be completely new and recently purchased, so it would be very disappointing if I am not entitled to this update. Please let me know if you know anything about this or have any assuptions. Thank you

You can call apple if you need reassurance, but they will not turn you down on the free upgrade just because you have not received your computer by day 30.

  • Installing Windows 7 Ultimate Edition on a Late 2013 15" MacBook Pro with Retina Display. (Top Spec)

    All,
I am trying to install Windows 7 Ultimate Edition on my Late 2013 MacBook Pro with Retina Display. I am using the .iso file/USB stick method of installation because I don't have access to my original Windows 7 DVD. I have the top specification model with all of the max upgrades. The problem I am having is when I get to actual installation of the Windows 7 software, it can't find the drivers I need to complete the installation. Any tips or suggestions?

I thought about doing what you said above, but unfortunately, I didn't have any spare blank DVD's. However, I was able to sucessfully install Windows & on my Mac. What I did was when I got to the error message, I would cancel the installation and that would return me back to the install now window. At that point, I would take out the flash drive and put it into another USB port. It took a few times, but eventually it recognized the drivers and allowed me to install the software. Remember, once you get past that point, the installation will ask you to choose a drive to install Windows on. Highlight the Boot Camp drive and chose "advanced", and then chose "format" after that. After all of this, it should be smooth sailing.

  • Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display?

Does Adobe Photoshop Elements work with MacBook Pro with Retina display, please?
Have searched Adobe website for answer - most recent is 2013 answer, saying no.
Contradicted by a staff ember who only referred to Photoshop, not Elements.
Reason I need it is that iPhoto does not support very high resolution photos - which I have now scanned onto my MacBook and do not want to re-scan!! After 90 minutes at my local Genius bar (lovely folk, very conscientiously searching for an answer...), re-scanning was their final piece of advice.
    Help, please...

    Hello Smis,
Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are having issues with your HP Monitor on your MAC. I am providing you with an HP Support document: Updating a Monitor Driver, where it states under the sub-heading Using HP monitors on a Mac "HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment."
This being said all I can advise is that you check to see that the monitor is set to operat at 60Hz and contact Apple for assistance if that does not get your monitor displaying correctly.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Photoshop CC and Illustrator CC crash on my MacBook Pro 15" Retina (2013)

I have a Mac Pro 12-Core (Late 2013) and a MacBook Pro 15" Retina (Late 2013). While there is no problem with the Adobe Creative Cloud products on the Mac Pro, I can't work with Photoshop and Illustrator on the MacBook Pro, cause it always tells me "undefined error" or that I wouldn't have the write-rights for the hard drive or file, even when there's no file opened. Illustrator crashes constantly while starting the program.
I tried to do a new installation by de-installing the programs including cloud desktop program with the Adobe de-installers. Didn't help at all. I tried to delete the programs including all hidden files manually, but it didn't work. After the new installation of the programs I still get the same error information. What else can I do? Other Non-Adobe programs like Final Cut, QuarkXpress aso work without problems and I really don't want to do a new setup on my Mac just because of the Adobe problem.
So, who can help me? What can I do to solve the problem?

  • I just brought Macbook pro(without retina display) on 15 june 2013 and since then put it on 6-7 hours of charging but still my macbook pro is not 100% charged. but why? (green light is displayed on the adapter pin)

i just brought Macbook pro(without retina display) on 15 june 2013 and when i switched it on the battery was 72 % charged and now the battery is charged to 62%, i used the charger that came with it and kept it for 6-7 hours on charging but it is not charged to 100% but why? also the green light is always on when i plug the charger with my mac book pro. Please tell me the meaning of Green light on power cord lid (mac book pro not charging or charging?) and also the other light if there like amber or any other colour.

    Hello Shailendras33,
Congratulations on your new MacBook Pro!  Thank you for providing all the information about what is going on with the charging issue.
Firstly, I found some information on page 11 of the MacBook Pro User Guide about what each color of the LED means on the Power Adapter:
When you first connect your power adapter to your MacBook Pro, an indicator light on the
MagSafe connector starts to glow.  An amber light indicates the battery is charging.  A green light indicates that the battery is fully charged.
You can find the MacBook Pro User Guide here (this is not for the latest MacBook Pro, but the information about the MagSafe adapter is true for the newest model):

    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/macbook_pro_15inch_late_2011.pdf
It sounds like you are not getting the amber light indicating your computer is charging, and you are noticing that the battery level is depleting.  I recommend resetting your System Management Controller when something like this is occurring:
Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own
Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).
    Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
You can find the full article here:

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • On my MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Why does the "USB Devices Disabled Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices" keep coming up after I unplugged the usb device?

On my MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15", that I purchased a few weeks ago, started coming up with the following message on my desktop:
"USB Devices Disabled Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices".
I unplugged the device and the message still keeps coming up.
This is what I have done so far to troubleshoot:
I shut down the laptop. When booting up I pressed the command+option+p+r at the same time. It comes up with a menu to reinstall OSX, Get help online, Run Disk Utility, etc. I choose the disk utility and repair the disk and then restarted.
The message keeps popping up and I can't seem to get rid of it. Why does the message keep popping up even though I don't have any devices hooked up to the laptop at all? Any help to reenable my usb ports and get rid of the messaage would be helpful.

I talked to Apple Support and we at least stopped the bleeding, a little bit. These are the troubleshooting steps I did before I contacted Apple Support:
    1. Reinstalled OSX
    2. Restore the last known good Time Machine Backup.
This did not fix my issue, so I called Apple Support and they told me this:
    1. Turn Power off.
    2. Wait 15 seconds.
    3. Plug in Magsafe adapter.
    4. Wait 15 seconds.
    5. Hold down the Shift+Option+Power Button for 20-30 seconds.
    6. Turn Power back on.
Ok, this stopped the bleeding a little, but as soon as I plugged in a Apple USB Superdrive
and a Apple Mini Displayport to VGA Adapter. This "USB Devices Disabled" pop-up pops up like every 30 minutes now. At least, it is not constantly popping up after I close it, so I guess it will do for the temporary. Going to contact Apple support, later, though to see what else can be done.
