After getting the above error message, I ignore it. The installation seems to continue fine. Then when I start iTunes, I get the message "iTunes did not install properly Error 7 (Windows error 193). I have updated the Microsoft .NET software to the latest version, then deleted iTunes and QuickTime, restarted the system, then downloaded and installed iTunes again and I still get the same messages. I am running a Windows 7 machine with Internet Explorer 11. Does anyone have a clue on how to correcct this?
Try the following user tip:
Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates -
Reinstalling iTunes and getting message "service 'apple mobile device'failed to start.Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services"
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Do uninstall all other apple programs such as

Apple Software Update
Bonjour
these programs above doesn't remove together with itunes.

Windows could not start the Apple Mobil Device Service on local computer.
Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.
I have already uninstalled itunes, all the related programs and I cannot reinstall, this Apple Mobil Device message stops the install.

Reinstalling itunes, I get the message "Apple Mobile Device failed to start"
A few days ago, my 3rd Gen ipod touch wasn't syncing to itunes. I would get a message like "Apple Mobile Device Support has failed to start. Please uninstall AMDS and itunes.." So I did all that today, followed the instructions on the Apple support site, and now I'm getting this message when I try to reinstall itunes. "Apple Mobile Device failed to star, verify you have sufficient privileges to start system resources. " I can still skip the step and install it, but then my ipod still won't connect.
What do I do??Try Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.

ON my PC, I attempted to download the update to itunes. It gave me an error message that I wasn't able to do that (and I don't recall the exact words) but telling me to delete the old itunes and download the new update, so I did. But now when I try to update the new itunes, I keep getting this message: Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services! It won't allow me to go any further! How do I fix this? What is the problem?
