When downloading itunes I get to the bit where it says about product publishing information then I get an error message.

Any ideas on how to complete the download please?

These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up en passant.
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. If updates install, stock up on the ones you're behind on, restarting the PC if requested to do so. After the restart, try installing iTunes again. Does it go through this time for you?
If windows updates fail to install, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? (For example, 8007000B.)

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • I just downloaded itunes and get an error message (-3212) when I try to connect to the store.  I have an hp pavillion using Windows 8.1

i just downloaded iTunes for my Windows 8 laptop and get an error message when i try to connect to the iTunes store (-3212)

    Hello Steve,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with the iTunes Store.  I recommend the following steps for error (-3212):
    "Error 3000" through "3999"
Alerts with codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try removing the proxy settings, or using a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues.

  • HT1483 When I try to download itunes I get an error message 7.  How do I fix this?

I need help installing Itunes on my computer.  It use to work but now I get an error 7 message, (Windows 5).  How can I reinstall Itunes..

  • I have a new computer, and downloaded iTunes but get an error message (Error 2) that Apple Application Support was not found. I have Windows 7

It tells me to uninstall, then reinstall iTunes, but I got the same result after I did that.  What do I do now?

I tried to install the iTunes64 for Windows, but got an error message that iTunes64Setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application.
That usually indicates the installer has gotten damaged during the download.
Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?
If you can't get a working installer via the standard download links, try the following download links instead:
    iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe
    iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe

  • Download Itunes but get any error message

I just purchased an Ipod Nano. I downloaded the itunes program but when it opens I get a message that says iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 application. I have downloaded the program several times but it says the same everytime. I am also have to use dial-up at the moment. Thanks for any help.

Apple offer this help, unfortunately it doesn't often work:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1406
otherwise all I can suggest is to turn off popup blocking or try a different browser in case the file is being truncated. The latest installer comes out at 62,042 KB in Windows Explorer on my PC.
IF you really can't get it to work try downloading from FileHippo
    http://filehippo.com/download_itunes/
If it doesn't work from there either, maybe there is an issue on your PC, although I don't know what it might be.

  • When Installing iTunes I get an Error Message About A Registry Key

It gives me this error message:
    Could not open key:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
I can't find that error listed anywhere on the iTunes support site. How can I fix this?

    Could not open key:
    HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\
    QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID
some folks have been having some success with pgfpdwife's technique in the following post:
pgfpdwife: Re: Could not open key HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classic\Quicktime.Quicktime\
note carefully that the technique involves a registry edit. be sure to make a backup of any keys you edit. if you're unfamiliar with your registry or registry editing, head to your XP help and support, do a search on registry, and read through the articles that come up.
There are also some instructions on how to back up registry keys in the following document:

When i try to download the new version of iTunes, I get an error message saying the download was for 32bit and I need the 64bit. How do i download 64bit?!?!

Which I get. But clicking on that link you provided does not give you the option of choosing between 32 and 64 bit installers.
Yeah, that was certainly a 32-bit installer file being referred to in the other message, too. (The 64-bit installer file is called iTunes64Setup.exe.)
Just in case it's an issue with your normal browser not working properly with the system-detection equipment on the page (there's a javascript control that checks for operating system specifics, and is supposed to deliver the correct Mac or Windows installers), let's try a different web browser for the download. If you use Firefox instead of IE (or vice versa), do you get offered an iTunes64Setup.exe instead of an iTunesSetup.exe?

I can not dowload the new updated software for my Ipod touch 4G. When i do I get an error message that says Network connection has timed out. I have done the trouble shooting steps. Downloaded the latest version of Itunes, and checked network connection

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update usually resolves the timeout error.

when i install or reinstall the new itunes i get an error message that says:
apple application support was no found.
apple application support is required to run ituneshelper. please uninstall itunes, then install itunes again.
    error 2
thats all it says ive tried to reinstall uninstall ive done all that and it wont work. i use windows 7
    please help me!!

Yeah, this is absolutely ********. I have t5he same message, only i just started getting it when my Iphone4 went in to recovery mode.
I uninstalled itunes, downloaded the lates itunes just now, reinstalled it and got the same message.
So, i did some more google research, and saw a recommendation that rather than installing itunes, one should unpack it with win zip, or win rar.
I did this, and even though I just downloaded the apple software today, when i try installing application support, i gwt a message saying A LATER VERSION OF APPLE APPLICATION SUPPORT IS ALREADY INSTALLED.. go figure! Du-uh!
So, i uninstalled the new itunes, went - control panel-programs- and dis a search for apple application support, found it and deleted it too.
Resinstalled itunes and again the same message.
unistalled everything again, tried installing application support first, then itunes, and now I get a message saying ITUNES WAS NOT ISNATLLED CORRECTLY!
I am so annoyed right now, that if my puter was a person, I would be in Jail!
    lol
