  • When I turn iTunes on "an unknown error occurred (-42110) pops up?

When I turn iTunes on "an unknown error occurred (-42110) pops up?
It started happening after downloading the latest version of iTunes.
As well, I'm not sure if it has something to do with it but when I download purchases and they show complete, the next time I turn iTunes on, the purchase starts downloading again which is holding up other downloads.  Frustrating.
    Thanks!

When setting up Voice over an unknown error occured (1703)? What is wrong? This happens to me on my shuffle and Nano, how can I fix it?

Sounds like the VoiceOver dll wasn't installed properly or is missing.  Try installing the latest version of iTunes over your existing installation on your Mac.

  • Cannot re-install Lion, "unknown error occurred"

I'm having this issue when I try to re-install Lion on my iMac, boot into Recovery Mode....run "Reinstall Mac OS X Lion," it asks me to authenticate with App Store.... I enter my credentials, and it pops back "unknown error occured."
The iMac is hard-wired and able to use the Internet via Safari (in Recovery Mode). I have replicated the issue on two Macs (Macbook Pro, iMac) and it seems I am not able to re-install Lion on either of them.
Has anyone had this issue?  Please advise, thanks.

    Update.
I called AppleCare yesterday and was advised by a Senior Advisor there was nothing prohibiting my Apple ID from downloading Lion via Recovery HD. However, he did suggest that it may indeed be "overloaded" with requests and to try again in the evening. As an anecdote, everyone I spoke to at AppleCare was super professional--very impressed.
I tried it this evening and I did not receive the "an unknown error occurred," it went straight through to download the update. Perhaps it is indeed that the server is overloaded but at the moment it is working fine.
    Hope this helps.

  • In Pages, what do you do when converting to Word and get "unknown error occurred" How can you fix the conversion?

Can anybody help me. In Pages how can I deal with "unknown error occurred" when converting to Word?

Thanks for you suggestion roaminggnome. I tried typing in 13019 like you said and it gave me a few options to try and fix it but none of them worked (of course). I fiddled around with it for a while some more on my own and some how got it to work again, lol. Thanks again though for offering a solution.

  • There was a problem downloading [Movie Title]. An unknown error occurred. (-50)

Just got LOTR: Trilogy Extended Editions on Bluray for Christmas and went to redeem the Digital Copies in the iTunes store. Codes worked fine, they have been successfully redeemed.
Only problem is the movies will not physically download to my harddrive and I get this error.
I have done the recommendations and step-by-step guides on this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1583 many many times but to no avail.
I've heard that sometimes Digital Copies require you to have the DVD or Bluray in your DVD or Bluray drive before they will download but if this is the case I haven't once been prompted to insert any such disc.

  • "There was a problem downloading [media title]. An unknown error occurred (-199)."

A few days ago, i noticed that my subscribed podcasts were not downloading.  The above error message was returned instead.  I could find no reference to a Code 199 online and hoped that the issue was temporary.  It seems that it may not be.
    I've tried:
    - restarting the computer
    - logging out and back into my iTunes account
    - removing and re-subscribing to a particular podcast
    - purchasing an app from the app store (this works fine)
    - purchasing a song from iTunes (this returns the same error code on the computer, but downloads and plays on my iPhone)
    - following the steps from this article -- http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3297 -- i turned off the firewall
    - also, i deleted the NetworkInterfaces.plist file and restarted my computer
    - checked to see if media will play through itunes from the external drive where all my iTunes media is stored (OK)
    - connecting through my iPhone's 3G connection, rather than through my Time Capsule / cable modem
I cannot recall anything that was new or changed when this issue began.  I typically refresh my podcasts once every day or two.
    I'm using a MacBook with OS X 10.7.5 and iTunes 11.1.5.
I'm looking forward to suggestions from the community.
    Thank you very much.
    Bill.

    Two more "clues":
Occasionally, after an attempt to refresh my podcasts, iTunes will crash.  A long report is displayed, but i think maybe the following excerpt may mean something to someone here:
    Exception Type:  EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
    Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000955
And the second thing is that i created a new user account and tried to download a podcast, and it worked fine, synced to my iPod Nano properly.
I get the feeling that a solution is near ... but it's beyond my grasp.
    Please help.
    Thank you.
