When entering data in p6 , it changes scheduled hours by month

We have a user that complained he entered data in primavera for a project activity, assigned 100 hours to someone for the month of Jan.
Now for Feb it changed the scheduled hours to 105, this must be because of the days in the month, and 8 hrs a day its calculating.
Is there a way to set for the project to only count the months, not days/hours. ?

This may help you to debug this:
Make a copy of the existing report and remove the crosstab. Put all the fields in the detail section and check how your data are joined by CR. Apply the year filter and check again if the data are display as expected in a vertical table format.

  • Double character input error when entering data in numbers using Bluetooth keyboard.

    Using a bluetooth keyboard (Logitech) sometimes causes a double character input when entering data in numbers.
    For example if wish to enter the number "22" or the word "in" they become "2222" and "iinn". Pressing enter of tab also causes a double jump
    This problem is not always solved by turning keyboard off and on or by closing down and restarting numbers.
    This problem does not occur in any other app.
    I have used 2 different Logitech keyboards (ultra-slim and the recently new folio keyboard) and both caused the same problem.
    The error is sporadic but frequent and has lead to me often having to switch back to touch input.
    Very frustrating considering these excellent keyboards are ideal for using in numbers when working correctly!
    ANy advice would be much appreciated

    Zombie,
    Not much help I'm afraid, but I just saw your post & wanted to let you know that I have the same problem, but for me it manifests itself in many apps, and it happens with the Apple bluetooth keyboard
    . The only thing I've noticed is that it only seems to happen when I first start typing after not using the keyboard for a while (I'm not sure how long a while is, but maybe 30 seconds or so). Then I'll type & the first few letters will be fine, and then one letter double-types, and then it's fine again until I stop using it for whatever the threshold amount of time is. I'm guessing that it has something to do with the iPad's battery management & that it's shutting off the connection to the keyboard or something & once it picks it back up, then it double-types that letter.
    At least in Pages, it isn't as big of a deal because I know it's coming, I can correct it & then type for a long time. In Numbers, my keyboard use is much less consistent, so I need to be more cognisant of it.

  • Slow response when entering data to an empty cell?

    Hey there...
    I have this issue that when I start entering data into an empty cell or owerwriting one, the response is slow; when I press a button on the keyboard it takes roughly 1 second before anything visual happens in the cell, but when the data "makes it way through" the response is normal when hitting the keyboard.
    Is anyone else experince a slow response when entering data to an empty cell in Number 09 or when overwriting one?/ Anyone familar with a similar issue, and is there anybody who knows how to fix this, or is it just normal for Numbers 09 to be a bit sluggish in the beginning when entering data?
    I've recently swithced from Excel 2007 to Numbers 09, so sorry if the terminology is incorrect.

    Question asked and answered several times.
    Numbers was not coded by brains but by feet so, it behave sadly when the AutoSave Lion feature apply.
    I posted a script getting rid of that.
    Start from a template or duplicate the existing document just after opening it then close the original and work on the duplicate.
    As it was never saved, AutoSave doesn't apply to it;
    From time to time (say at least every ten minutes) call my script.
    It wil duplicate the doc in progress and save it with a date_time stamped name.
    this way, you will continue to enter datas in a never saved document.
    Search for the string Auto_Save in the existing threads.
    It's late and I'm too tired to search for you.

  • Autofill date/time when entering data?

    Hi,
    I'm new to Numbers so still learning the ropes, but...
    I have made a call log which should automatically enter the date and time when I enter data into a 'Notes' field. This works for the first instance but when a new call is received and I add a new note the date and time changes for all previous notes.
    The formula I am using is as follows:
    IF(ISBLANK(F3),,NOW())
    I have tried to attach the numbers file bu struggling to see how so I've attached a screenshot which might be of use.
    Any help greatly appreciated!

    the function now() atucally returns now.  That is... the date and time it is at the very moment the function is called.  You are asking for a timestampt.  The best way to implement a timestamp (which technically Numbers DOES NOT HAVE) is to keep a single cell table in a handy place (I keep it in the top left corner), then put the formula:
    =now()
    in the single cell.
    When you add a new entry, select that single cell, copy, then paste formula result.
    this can be done quickly when you memorize the key combinations:
    copy                            = <command> + c
    paste fomula result     = <command> + <shift> + v
    You can make suggestions to Apple using the menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback"

  • Numbers for iPad crashes when entering data

    I have the same issue as described in this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2603291&tstart=0
    Basically Numbers crashes almost every time I tap on a cell to input data. It doesn't seem to happen if the cell contains text, or a cell that is the output only of a formula, but it does crash (almost always) whenever I tap a number that's an input into a formula, or a cell with star-value. Sometimes Numbers crashes when I tap an empty cell (even if there is no formula attached to it), but not always.
    This occurs in every spreadsheet that I use, including the default "Getting Started" spreadsheet, spreadsheets that I created using templates found in Numbers, and spreadsheets that I imported from my MacBook created in (the most recent version of) Numbers. It's my perception that it first occurred infrequently in Numbers 1.1, and got worse over time.
    I use Numbers mostly for a single spreadsheet that keeps track of my invoices. I never use any graphics in the spreadsheets. The formulas are all pretty simple.
    (The spreadsheet is used to track sales, so each line has a cell for the dates of order and payment, the number of items, the name of the item, the items total, and at the bottom there's the invoice total. Small stuff like that)
    Right now there are about 12 invoices in the spreadsheet. Each invoice is a separate sheet on the same spreadsheet, and I periodically make a duplicate sheet in which I can change some of the values and text (btw, text boxes are unaffected). There are like on average 30 populated cells per sheet, so the total is like 400 populated cells on this spreadsheet.
    Unfortunately, due to this bug, I cannot use Numbers for this purpose at all. I can make a duplicate of a (blank or filled-in) Spreadsheet, but as soon as I start adding values to the chart, the screen goes black and I am returned to the iPad home screen. This problem also occurs on my very first invoices, even though they were created just fine at the time (using Numbers 1.0).
    I only have four other spreadsheet files in Numbers and they all suffer the same problem. One is the default Numbers "Getting Started" spreadsheet. It crashes on the "Table Basics" spreadsheet when I tap the pink box as instructed.
    I created a "Budget" spreadsheet from Numbers's templates. It crashes when I enter data in the "Budget" column in the first ("Categories") chart, but not the "Actual" and "Difference" columns. It also crashes each time I enter data into the "Amount" column of the second ("Transactions") chat, but not any of the other columns ("Date," "Description," and "Category"). So, this spreadsheet is unusable on the iPad.
    (I did export this sheet to Numbers on my Mac, and it worked fine.)
    I created two other spreadsheets in Numbers about a month ago and I had no problems. They are just two-column charts that I printed out to display some information. One has 30 populated cells, the other has about 100. On both of them, I can edit a cell that has text-only, but I cannot enter any data into an empty cell! It crashes! Also, FYI, there are Japanese characters in the text-fields.
    I hope this is not too much information or too little. Just trying to get some help for myself or to help whoever might work on this problem.
    Any ideas? Any more info needed? This is on a 3G 32gb iPad using version 3.2.2, and Numbers 1.2.

    The issues you describe have nothing to do with the other posting you are referencing. They state they have the following problem:
    (numbers on ipad) drops several of the important features that I created in the laptop version such as headers and footers, fonts, steppers, sliders, etc.
    It sounds like your having no data entry at all. There is a known issue with certain formulas causing crashes, but not every data entered like you seem to be stating.
    I might have missed it, but did you delete and reinstall Numbers on your ipad?
    If not, please write down EXACTLY the steps used to reproduce the problem, then go to http://www.apple.com/feedback and input this into a bug report for ipad numbers. Be very specific as to the steps involved to get to the crash point.
    Thanks
    Jason

  • Changed behaviour when entering data

    In previous versions of Numbers, when I typed something in a cell, it offered me entries from previous cells in the column that matched the characters as I typed them. This feature seems to have disappeared since I upgraded to Mavericks. Is there any way I can get it back?

    Hi Jane,
    That auto-completion behavior has disappeared from Numbers 3.0.
    If you frequently enter repeating values in a column you could consider formating the cells as Pop-Up Menu:
    If you've selected the whole column before formatting as Pop-up, your existing values in that column will pre-populate a menu automatically:
    Then you remove the values you don't want in the list, such as the column header (and possibly some previous spelling errors too!):
    And after this easy one-time setup all you have to do thereafter is to choose from the pop-up list when you add rows:
    There's no keyboard shortcut to activate the menu such as they had in the old Numbers (hope they'll add one) but the Pop-Up Menu approach has some advantages over autocompletion: no spelling errors or lack of capitalization when there should be capitalization, etc.  And should you ever want to take your Numbers with you, in a touch interface pop-ups are more efficient than typing the first few letters of items.

  • How to get calendar icon to show again when entering data in date/time field.

    Hello,
    First time posting on this site.  I am fairly new to using SQL Server Express.  I created a split-database in MS Access 2010 and have successfully migrated over the backend database to SQL Server Express.  When I was using the FE forms in
    Access, I use to be able to see a calendar icon where I could select the month and day in the date/time field.
    I compiled the FE forms to binary format .accde so that I could distribute this to the users and they couldn't change my forms. After migrating the tables to SQL Server express for the BE, I am no longer able to see the calendar icon when I try to enter
    in data in the date/time field.   Same for the original .accdb file before the binary conversion to .accde.
    How do I get the calendar icon back to show on the form when a user is entering in data?  I appreciate any assistance I can get. Thank you!
    Thai

    Hello Cheer,
    I don't believe the table changed when migrating from Access.  I had two tables before the migration, one was for the SwitchBoard Manager and the other table was for the database table.  I used the Switchboard to navigate to different menus, such
    as the Main Form, Power Form, Server Form, etc.  Let me know if I can provide any other information to help you narrow this down for me.
    Thank you for your assistance.

  • Help... Header columns unfreeze when entering data on iphone.

    I'm a college professor and am in the process of migrating my gradebook spreadsheets to numbers with the goal of being able to input grades on my iphone (which is most convenient since I always, always have my phone with me). Here's my problem... If I freeze the Header Column on a table, it stays visible while I'm purusing the table for the place I need to insert data, but as soon as I click on the cell in question to enter said data, the header column disappears. Basically, if the keyboard is available, my header columns unfreeze. That's fine if I want to input a single grade, but it means I can't work my way down a column filling in grades for a class because I can't reference the student's names, which are now hidden screen-left. Is there something I can do to remedy this--i.e., to make it so the header columns remain visible when the keyboard is activated?
    [PS: I have figured out a work-a-round. If I make all the data cells pop-up menus, then I can choose a grade from the pop-up menu and the header column stays visible. Only it  means scrolling through grade options (100%, 99%, 98% &c...) which is terribly cumbersome.]

    A phone screen is small.
    I guess that it's why the developers choose to free space when iPhone users work in a table.
    I'm unaware of a preferences setting offering the ability to change that.
    But here you are in a forum dedicated to Numbers for OSX.
    Most of us don't use Numbers for iOS which is a different application.

  • When entering data my screen now flashes to grey then back to white can I elminate this 3.6 did not do this.

    I do data entry for a company and use the web based program with Firefox. The 3.6 version of FF worked great. Last week I downloaded the new version 4. Now, as I "enter" each entry my monitor turns grey with a pop up window that say "are you sure you want to enter this" then turns white. This is very annoying and gives me a headache is a short time. Is there a way to get the screen to stop this blinking at each entry?

  • Old g4 slow when entering data base

    I have an older g4 which I'm using as a data base with pictures.  I developed this data base out of apple works or like the old file maker pro.  The maching is old, but runs.  I've got 1100 pictures on it that I'm trying to organize and some are in iphoto, then moved to my data base once I take them out of a folder imported from iphoto.  I've attempted to clean up the other space, but un sure what I'm doing.  I've read some of the other threads about slow running machines and have done the basics.  So I'll start a new record, find the picture, drop it into the media window and the spinning color wheel appears and runs 45 seconds?
    Seems to be forever.  Even when I try to save or if I move between desktop and data base, the wheel comes up and I have to wait.  It's now to the point it spins every time and I'm not making process on my project.

    Hello and Welcome to the support Community
    What specification is the PowerBook your are running?
    You have said that you have done the basics, what have you already done so far?

  • Excel crashes when entering data from VBA form

    After only 6 lines of data entered via VBA form with macros enables, excel crashes everytime. The code basically looks for the next empty row and then populates sheet with data from the form.

    Thanks

  • How to refresh mx:List when the data in dataProvider is changed

    I have a mx:List that uses an ArrayCollection as a dataProvider. The ArrayCollection contains many Object, something like:
    var o:Object = new Object();
    o.label = "Apple";
    o.price = "$1.00";
    var o:Object = new Object();
    o.label = "Kiwi";
    o.price = "$0.20";
    Now the dataProvider (ArrayCollection) is updated outside the mx:List, not through the itemEditor. I want the mx:List to show the changes in the
    dataProvider (ArrayCollection), but currently it does not automatically show the changes. I could not find a refresh method in the List or dataProvider
    to force the List to reload the data. Any suggestions?

    Hi John, have you tried arrayCollection.refresh()...where arrayCollection is dataProvider for your List.
    Thanks,
    Bhasker

  • How to stop BAPI(FM) when enter data from front end is calling a BAPI

    Hi Experts
    We are entering the data through front end , that is calling one BAPI and upadating the data
    into SAP .
    could any one tell me how to stop this BAPI , is it possible to stop that BAPI using external break points
    Thanks.

    Is this BAPI Called in another task? Otherwise, you should be able to debug it like any other Function module in foreground.

  • Interactive Popup Questions when entering data

    Hi
    I created an interactive document for work where the processor has to enter a dollar amount in a text field.  Is there a way to create the form so when the processor enters the amount, a question pops up to ask "Are you sure this is the correct amount?  I am trying to find a way to have the user have to confirm the amount. I really apprecate your help if you have any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Try67.
    I was hoping I might be able to bug you with one more question.  Another community memeber sent me thecode below that will actually put the dollar amount in the Pop Up Question which my boss prefers.  The only problem is I have a reset button and when I click the reset button, t makes the Pop Up Question pop up again with a blank amount. When I use your code, I do not have the reset button problem.
    It is odd because I tried to ask this person if there was a solution but when I click on View Original Discussion in the email from him, it states it was deleted.  Here is his answer:
    A good event for this is the Validate event of the text field. You can use the app.alert method to ask the question, and based on the response, either accept or reject the value. For example:
    var sMsg = "You entered: " + event.value + "\r\rAre you sure this is the correct amount?";
    var resp = app.alert({cMsg: sMsg, nIcon: 2, nType: 2, cTitle: "Verify amount"});
    // Reject the entry if user doesn't select Yes
    if (resp !== 4) event.rc = false;
    Again, sorry to bug you but grateful if you have a solution.

  • Error Message when entering data into a table from an array

    When i use the following:
    stmt.executeUpdate("INSERT INTO Car " + "VALUES (" + temp + ", " + carData[0] + ", " + carData[1] + ", " + carData[2] + ", " + carData[3] + ", " + carData[4] + ", " + carData[5] + ", " + carData[6] + ", " + carData[7] + ", " + carData[8] + ", " + carData[10] + ", " + carData[11] + ", " + carData[12] + ", " + carData[9] + ", " + carData[13] + ", " + carData[14] + ", " + carData[15] + ", " + carData[16] + ", " + carData[17] + ", " + carData[18] + ", " + carData[19] + ", " + carData[20]+")");
    i get the following error message:
    SQLException: [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'Audi A2 (Standard & SE)'.
    where: 'Audi A2 (Standard & SE)' is the value stored in carData[4].
    Can anyone help?

    You need to enclose carData[0],carData[1] etc in single quotes, if they are String(s). Otherwise you can use PreparedStatement.
    PreparedStatement ps = con.prepareStatement("Insert into car values(22 questions marks)");
    ps.setInt(1,temp);
    for(int i=0;i<21;i++) ps.setString(i+2,carData[ i ]);
    int count=ps.executeUpdate();
