When Firefox freezes, how can I shut it down, and re-start it without it automatically going to the site which caused the problem in the first place ?

I have Firefox set so that when I start up, I have it set so that it automatically goes to my home page. However when it freezes, which it does on a daily basis, and I have to shut it down and re-start, it automatically goes to the site which caused the problem in the first place.
If I was a hacker, I would probably find it quite fun to design a virus to reintroduce bugs after they had been exterminated - except that Firefox seem to have got there first.

Here's how:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste '''sess''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the '''browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes''' preference and enter 0 (that's a zero) and click OK.
When Firefox resumes after a crash, instead of resuming automatically, it will display a list of your previous windows and tabs and you can deselect problem pages.
(This assumes it wasn't a private browsing session.)

You can use the Share button on Preview's toolbar. Choosing Email pops open Mail with the PDF already iconified as an attachment. If it doesn't behave this nicely for you, select the PDF in Mail and choose the right contextual menu, where you will find View as Icon. I also have Send Windows-Friendly attachments enabled.

The only way to get data onto the phone is by syncing. To get some photos off the phone you can connect the phone to the computer with USB cable and use windows explorer to view and copy the photos from the phone to the computer. You could use a program like ibackupbot or something similar on your computer and get data off the phone to your computer using that

Hi all, I'm just wondering how I can create a black and white image similar to what I see in the preview window of the "Replace Color" tool. See attached screenshot for clarification -- I need the grass to be black while the soil is white or vice versa. Any tips?

One way is to use Select>Color Range
Make a new Color Fill Layer>White
(Layer>New Fill Layer>Solid Color)
Put a new color fill layer below>black
Just invert the layer mask on the top fill layer for the opposite effect.

While downloading Adobe reader, an errr ocured that has resulted in a "send notice to Microsoft.It appears always when Firefox opens.How can I get rid of it?

How can I shut this down?

My G7 Mac is slowing drastically, especially when changing from webpage to another -- a message says I am not online and then the second page shows up. I went to the console to see what was happening and I think the computer is trying to launch something that does not exist. I'm over my head at this point. Here's a typical listing I see in the console:

Also check in Activity Monitor to see if there is any BlackBerry stuff running which you'll need to quit the process before you can delete it.
And have a look in System Preferences>Users & Groups>Login Items (might be Accounts on 10.6 - can't remember) and check there are no BlackBerry items set to launch.

If you have removed your personal data when uninstalling Firefox then the Firefox profile folder that store your Firefox personal data has been removed.
If you do not have a backup of the files in this folder then your only option is to try to recover this data with an undelete utility like Recuva.
